We are listing Oliver for one simple reason-we are a sheep farm and after almost 6 months with us, it turns out he has a very strong prey drive for our livestock! This is a great sadness to us as he is otherwise a very sweet and gentle dog who has shown zero aggression towards our domestic animals or humans (and we are a busy place with many visitors). We adopted after losing an elderly Great Dane whom we took in as a hospice foster (but who lived for close to two years!). We fell in love with the breed. Oliver is almost three now-still somewhat of a puppy-his original owner was not able to give him enough exercise and Oliver spent a lot of time crated. We have never crated him in our home and he gets and needs a lot of exercise. He is a sweet guy who would do well with another dog and active humans. He is a smuggler (despite his size) and loves his orange pig, Mr. Blue and all tennis balls. He needs space! And no sheep. Please come meet this sweet boy.

Watching him lope after balls with his long gangly legs will definitely put a smile on your face! Wally's kind eyes always seem to be watching and waiting for his turn to go for a walk. When he sees that leash, his whole body wiggles, his face lights up, and he does a little happy dance with those long legs of his. This big boy is super smart and loves learning new things. He's been working hard on his loose leash walking skills, as well as some other basic obedience and is making great progress! If treats are involved, Wally is ready to perform!! Wally will be happiest as the only pet. Due to his size, we feel he can join a home with older children (older 10+). He may look serious in his photos, but he's really a happy go lucky guy! I am Dana the Dane. I wear my heart on my sleeve, give BIG hugs to my foster mom and try to climb in my foster dad's lap like I am a pup even though I am 74 pounds. When I arrived at my fosters, I made my voice deep, and growly but my eyes were so wide and sad. I was terrified. I had been traveling for almost 2 days, and it was scary. Every time I started to get comfortable with someone on the trip, they left me with someone else and I had to get used to the new person only to have things change again. When new people come into my life, I get scared again because I don't know what is happening since everything is happening so fast. I had never been in a house, slept on a bed, or had love like this before. If you give me some time to adjust, I am very smart, loyal and loving. Although I am a sweet, playful, lovable dog, this foster home wasn't the perfect home for me because I am too much puppy, and I have a lot of energy, and their other dog just couldn’t adapt to me. My adoption coordinator loves the pretty way I run--I have the grace of a gazelle crossed with the playfulness of a puppy (a big puppy). I am very trainable. I like to watch and think and maybe that is why I get scared but once I figure out I am staying someplace, I will be so happy. I love treats, love, pats, and play.
