Story
Dane is a stunning blue merle great dane mix. He is about 8 months old and great with dogs of all sizes and with cats. He was rescued from a small rural shelter where he was slated to be euthanized due to time and space. He is a chill dude who likes to nap, go on walks and hang with his friends. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue(copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Kevin Henson is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! Meet Kevin, a striking Great Dane mix with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life. At about 65 pounds, he’s a playful, goofy boy who loves toys, food, and being part of the action. He’s smart, eager to learn, and incredibly food-motivated, the perfect combo for training. Kevin is a social butterfly with people and enjoys making new friends. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, and always ready for a good time, whether it’s a romp outside or hanging with his favorite humans. His ideal forever home would have a fenced-in backyard where he can run to his heart’s content. Kevin does have leash reactivity, so he needs an experienced adopter who’s ready to put in the time and consistency he deserves. With structure, training, and patience, this boy will absolutely thrive. If you’re looking for a fun, loyal companion and you’re ready to help a smart dog reach his full potential, Kevin is your guy. Story
Bones is our Gentle Guardian with a Steady Soul”  Bones may sound like an unexpected name for a dog as strikingly handsome as this Great Pyrenees boy—but once you meet him, it fits perfectly. Bones has the kind of solid structure, steady presence, and dependable nature that makes you feel grounded just standing beside him. At just 11 months old and currently weighing about 60 pounds, he’s still a teenage pup—but his personality already carries the calm wisdom his breed is known for. Bones has a wonderfully peaceful demeanor. He’s the kind of dog who greets you at the door with quiet joy, offering comfort and companionship after a long day. There’s something incredibly reassuring about him—like a safe harbor wrapped in a fluffy white coat. He walks regally on leash, turning heads wherever he goes, and carries himself with confidence without being pushy or demanding. Despite a rough start in life—originally belonging to a homeless woman who left him in the care of friends—Bones has never let hardship shape his heart. Now safely with Critter Cavalry Rescue, he is neutered, fully vetted, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on all vaccines and deworming. Bones truly is a friend to all. He does beautifully with dogs, cats, chickens, and people of every age. True to his Great Pyrenees roots, he is observant and watchful, naturally protective without being reactive. He is housebroken, knows basic commands, and enjoys a structured routine. A securely fenced yard is a must—Bones loves spending long hours outside soaking up good weather, playing independently or alongside other dogs. He’s also mastered the art of indoor relaxation and proudly holds top honors from “Couch Potato School.” We expect Bones to mature into a stunning 75–85 pound adult. He would thrive with a family or individual who understands the Great Pyrenees breed and welcomes him as a true member of the household—inside and out, every day.If you’re searching for a loyal, gentle, and enduring companion, Bones is waiting. Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you have the secure home and breed understanding this special boy deserves.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 25, 2025, 12:24 am

Story
Hello Future Family!! My name is DESIREE and I am a lovable 4 year old AKC registered Great Dane. I came into the rescue a very skinny girl but I have filled out nicely with the wonderful meals I have received. I am looking for my forever family - my foster parents love me but they said they have many doggies that need their help too. I love affection and laps, stuffed toys and my Nyla bones. I don't hate other dogs but my foster mom said I would be best as an only dog because I get jealous - sorry we all have our hang-ups. I am crate trained, house trained and extremely loving. Please send an email to my foster mom @ Sbanimalrescue@yahoo.com and tell her you have a soft spot for a big mush like me - I am waiting for you. Applications can be found on our website www.starbrightanimalrescue.org or please e-mail sbanimalrescue@yahoo.com for an application for DESIREE. We try to respond to ALL inquiries so, please check your junk mailbox if, you're waiting to hear from us.
