Story
Meet Cooper! Hes a 1 year old Great Dane/Pointer mix with the sweetest personality and the cutest goofy side. Cooper is friendly, affectionate, and loves being part of whatever youre doing. He enjoys toys, chew bones, and hanging out with his people, but he also has a playful side and would love another dog to romp around with or a couple of walks each day to burn off some energy. He walks well on a leash and is doing great with both crate training and house training. Cooper gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and kids, making him an easy fit for many different kinds of families. Hes neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready to find a forever home of his own.

Story
Meet Duchess, a little pup who will one day be a dog of great stature!  And by stature, we mean that Duchess is going to be extremely tall! To our surprise, a breed test done on Duchess’s brother Duke indicated that the litter could be 100 percent Great Dane.  Duchess and her siblings were dumped as tiny puppies near a busy road, so we don’t know anything about the parents and have no way of knowing if the breed results are 100 percent accurate. But the pups have been growing at a rapid pace and will definitely be very large dogs. As of July 1, Duchess is approximately eight weeks old and already weighs 16 pounds.  Duchess does seem to have the wonderful qualities and temperament of a Great Dane. She is loyal, affectionate, friendly and calm — a gentle giant in the making. She follows her foster mom everywhere and already climbs on the couch to sit in her lap. Duchess has a promising future as a couch potato and lap dog.  Duchess is looking for a forever family who understands the complexities of owning a very large dog. She also still has a lot of basic skills to learn, so she will need a home that can finish up the work of potty training and crate training. But Duchess is sure to be a loving and loyal companion for the right family. Story
Meet Rue!! 💖 She just came to us recently and what we can tell so far is she is an absolute love of a dog. She is about 1 years old, a Great Dane/Catahoula leopard mix, spayed, UTD on shots, and ready to find her people. She has a very high prey drive so NO CATS for her. Also highly recommend a fenced in yard or electric fence set up for her as she will chase birds, bunnies, etc. She seems to tolerate other dogs but as always if interested a meet and greet is required to ensure it's a good match. Older kids would be ideal for her as she is still young and working on her manners and is jumpy. Breed experience is preferred as this is also another breed that research should be done as they have specific needs to ensure a healthy long life. Come meet her Tuesday-Saturday 9:00am-3:00pm

Story
Major: 130 Pounds of Gentle Giant Love   Great Dane • 1½ years old • 130 pounds • Available the week of July 20   Major nearly lost his life for one heartbreaking reason: his landlord said he had to go, and his owner simply accepted that he would be euthanized.   Thankfully, a Nashville firefighter heard what was happening and stepped in to save him.   Since then, Major has been thriving in a foster home with four other dogs of different ages and temperaments. He has shown himself to be a remarkably sweet, curious, and adaptable young dog. He quickly learned to use the dog door, enjoys trips to the dog park, and handles new people, sounds, and surroundings with confidence.   At 1½ years old, Major still has a playful, youthful spirit, but he is mature enough to settle easily into a new routine. He is friendly, affectionate, and gentle—the kind of dog whose enormous heart matches his enormous paws.   Major is scheduled for surgery next week and should be ready for adoption the week of July 20. He is looking for a family that understands giant breeds and will give him the security and lifelong commitment he almost lost.   Major did not deserve to die because someone decided he was inconvenient. He deserves a home where he will be treasured for the truly special dog he is.   About Critter Cavalry Rescue:We’re a Middle Tennessee-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to saving high-risk homeless animals.
