Story
Breaker is up for adoption in TX, NE and PNW (excluding MA)! Meet Breaker – Your Adventure Buddy in the Making! Breaker is a handsome Great Dane mix a little over a year old who is ready to find an active, committed family to call his own. At around 65 pounds, he’s a wonderful blend of big-dog presence and goofy puppy charm. Breaker is currently being fostered in Seguin, TX, but he can be transported to the Pacific Northwest and the Northeast United States for the right home. Breaker thrives on activity and he still has that classic puppy energy, so he’s looking for a family that understands the importance of positive correction, consistency, and continued training to help him grow into the best version of himself. With the right guidance, Breaker is eager to learn and please. One of Breaker’s favorite things in the world is going on adventures. He absolutely loves riding in the car and would be thrilled to tag along for hikes, outings, road trips, or any fun day spent exploring with his people. Water is another big favorite—splashing, wading, and cooling off are right up his alley. When playtime rolls around, Breaker is all in. He loves toys of all kinds and enjoys playing with dogs his own size. Most of all, Breaker wants to be with his people. He would happily spend the entire day with his family, whether that means being on the go or just hanging out together. If you’re an active household looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion to share life’s adventures, Breaker may be the perfect match for you. Story
Meet Boone – A Gentle Soul Ready for a Fresh Start Boone is a striking Great Dane and Black Mouth Cur mix at 65 pounds with soulful eyes and a quiet, thoughtful demeanor. Rescued after being abandoned on the roadside, Boone's past suggests he was used as a hunting dog and likely spent much of his life confined to a kennel. This history has left him shy and cautious at first, but with time, patience, and kindness, Boone reveals his deeply affectionate side. Once he begins to trust, Boone becomes a devoted companion who craves gentle affection and enjoys peaceful moments with his person. He thrives in a calm environment and takes comfort in the presence of other dogs—he gets along wonderfully with canine companions and would benefit from a home with another friendly dog to help boost his confidence. Currently being fostered in Seguin, TX, Boone is looking for a foster or forever home in Central Texas only. He needs a loving, understanding family who can help him continue to blossom at his own pace. His ideal adopter would be someone familiar with hounds or someone who appreciates the gentle, loyal nature of these incredible breeds. If you're a hound enthusiast or simply someone with a kind heart and a quiet home, Boone may be the perfect match for you. He’s not just looking for a home—he’s looking for someone who sees his potential and will offer the love and patience he’s never known before. Boone is ready to start again. FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Rookie! Rookie is an 11-month-old, 52 lb Great Dane mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter. This big, lovable puppy is sweet, playful, outgoing, and ready to find a family who will help him grow into the incredible adult dog he’s meant to be! Rookie is great with other dogs and absolutely loves to play. He would love to have another friendly, well-adjusted dog in his forever home to be his canine companion, help keep him socialized, and show him the ropes. He could also potentially thrive as an only dog with adopters who are committed to providing plenty of positive socialization opportunities with other dogs. As a young Great Dane mix, Rookie is still growing and has plenty of puppy energy to go along with him! He’s active, bouncy, strong, and enthusiastic about life. He walks well on leash but can pull when he’s excited or wants to investigate something, so he’ll benefit from continued leash training and a handler who is prepared to work with a large young dog. Rookie is looking for a home that understands what comes with raising a young dog (structure, consistency, continued obedience training, exercise, mental enrichment, and lots of positive experiences). If you’re ready for a big puppy with an even bigger heart, Rookie is ready to be your new best friend! Rookie is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $550.

Story
Animal Profile: Joe is a sweet, 80-lb Dane mix who turned 7 in April. He was originally adopted in 2020, but this past fall we received a call from a local shelter after he was surrendered for euthanasia due to allergies. We immediately took him back into our rescue. After food allergy testing, a diet change, supplements, and a Cytopoint injection, Joe is doing great and his allergies are well managed. He’s feeling good and ready to find his forever home. Foster Update: Joe is the kind of dog who makes every day a little softer, a little quieter, and a whole lot sweeter. As he enjoys his golden years, what he wants most is simple: a cozy place to relax, a person to adore, and a family to call his own. This handsome gentleman is happiest when he's close to his favorite human. Whether he's stretched out beside you on the couch, snoozing nearby while you work, or curled up for movie night, Joe's greatest joy comes from sharing life's everyday moments with the people he loves. He has a calm, affectionate nature and an easygoing presence that makes him a wonderful companion in a relaxed home. Joe may initially gravitate toward women, but he warms up quickly to men and forms deep, lasting bonds once he feels comfortable. While he's friendly with everyone he meets, Joe is the type of dog who chooses his person and loves them with his whole heart. He gets along well with resident dogs and enjoys low-key play, especially a good chase around the yard. Thoughtful introductions help set him up for success with new canine friends, and once settled, Joe is happy to coexist peacefully. Joe looks forward to his daily walks and walks nicely knowing the heel command. He can feel a bit nervous when encountering unfamiliar dogs, particularly in busier environments, but with a calm handler who pays attention to his cues and redirects him appropriately, he does very well. Because of this, Joe would be happiest in a quieter neighborhood, suburban setting, or rural home where walks can be a little more relaxed and spacious. He's a smart boy who knows commands like sit and down, and his love of treats makes continued training enjoyable for both him and his people. Joe is crate trained, house trained, and has excellent manners around the home. At bedtime, Joe politely waits for an invitation onto the bed—but be warned: once granted access, he transforms into a world-class bed hog. Thankfully, his cuddling skills more than make up for the lost space. Joe does well with teens, loves affection, and has a heart as big as his love for snuggling. He's looking for someone who appreciates the special bond that comes with a senior dog—a companion who is past the puppy chaos and ready to simply enjoy life together. Joe's ideal home includes: • Calm, attentive humans • A quieter suburban or rural environment • Slow, respectful introductions to new dogs • Plenty of couch time, cuddles, and companionship If you're looking for a loyal best friend to share peaceful days, evening walks, and cozy nights on the couch, Joe is ready to spend his golden years loving you with everything he's got. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $500 which includes spay/neuter, all core vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a federal 501c3 organization.  Apply online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application August 17, 2026, 11:08 pm

Story
4-Year-Old Neutered Male Great Dane | Gentle Soul | Looking for His Safe Place When Othello first arrived, he was completely shut down—frozen in fear and unsure how to exist in a world that had never been kind to him. But little by little, he’s been learning that life can be good… that people can be gentle… and that love doesn’t have to hurt. Today, Othello is blossoming into the dog he was always meant to be. These days, he loves playing with his dog friends—something we aren’t sure he ever had the chance to do before. Watching him discover joy, play, and connection has been nothing short of incredible. He’s wonderful with other dogs and truly needs one in his new home—a calm, social, and ideally female companion who can show him the ropes and help him continue to grow in confidence. He finds comfort and courage in canine companionship. Othello also loves pets from the people he trusts and is very affectionate. He’s learning that hands can be kind, and that humans can bring warmth and safety instead of fear. And yes—treats are absolutely the way to his heart. With patience, kindness, and delicious snacks, Othello will happily let you in. His new family will need to move at his pace. He’ll require a minimum of three pre-adoption training sessions (possibly more—Othello will decide when he’s ready) so his new people can learn how to support him through the transition to a new environment. He’s come too far to be rushed, and we’re committed to setting him up for success. Othello is a big, beautiful reminder that resilience takes time… and that some of the most incredible dogs are the ones who had to fight hardest to trust again. If you’re patient, compassionate, and ready to help a once-broken dog continue his journey toward joy—Othello just might be your heart dog. Othello has been extensively vetted and is in great health.
