Story
Breaker is up for adoption in TX, NE and PNW (excluding MA)! Breaker is a 1-year-old, 65-pound Great Dane/Boxer mix with a heart as big as his goofy grin. This splash-happy pup LOVES the water—whether he’s chasing toys into the pool, splashing through a creek, or just romping around the yard, Breaker is always up for adventure. With the playful energy of a Boxer and the gentle, loyal nature of a Dane, he’s the best of both worlds—equal parts fun and affection. Breaker is dog-friendly (with pups his size), loves people, and is happiest when he’s part of the action. He’s making great progress with crate training and is learning his puppy manners, especially when treats are involved. Breaker wasn't given much structure as a pup so, Breaker sometimes tries to play bite to get his way. Even after a board-and-train program, he will need a family committed to consistent, positive reinforcement training to help him reach his full potential. Breaker would thrive in an active home with space to play and maybe even a doggy sibling to share his adventures with. If you’re looking for a loyal, silly, water-loving companion who will keep you laughing and fill your days with joy, Breaker is your guy! To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
Meet Boone – A Gentle Soul Ready for a Fresh Start Boone is a striking Great Dane and Black Mouth Cur mix at 65 pounds with soulful eyes and a quiet, thoughtful demeanor. Rescued after being abandoned on the roadside, Boone's past suggests he was used as a hunting dog and likely spent much of his life confined to a kennel. This history has left him shy and cautious at first, but with time, patience, and kindness, Boone reveals his deeply affectionate side. Once he begins to trust, Boone becomes a devoted companion who craves gentle affection and enjoys peaceful moments with his person. He thrives in a calm environment and takes comfort in the presence of other dogs—he gets along wonderfully with canine companions and would benefit from a home with another friendly dog to help boost his confidence. Currently being fostered in Seguin, TX, Boone is looking for a foster or forever home in Central Texas only. He needs a loving, understanding family who can help him continue to blossom at his own pace. His ideal adopter would be someone familiar with hounds or someone who appreciates the gentle, loyal nature of these incredible breeds. If you're a hound enthusiast or simply someone with a kind heart and a quiet home, Boone may be the perfect match for you. He’s not just looking for a home—he’s looking for someone who sees his potential and will offer the love and patience he’s never known before. Boone is ready to start again. Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Briscoe! Briscoe is a 2.5-year-old, 70 lb Great Dane who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in CA. From the moment she arrived, it was clear she is one of the happiest dogs you’ll ever meet! When Briscoe first came into our care, she was very underweight, but with proper nutrition and care she’s been steadily gaining weight and building strength—and she’s doing great! She’s a stunning harlequin Great Dane with beautiful gray, black, and white markings, big floppy ears, and one blue eye paired with one golden-brown eye that makes her truly unforgettable. Briscoe is goofy, playful, bouncy, and full of life! She has a good amount of spunky energy and is a strong girl, so she’ll need an adopter who is comfortable handling a large, powerful dog and committed to daily walks, continued muscle building, and ongoing socialization. She is crate trained and has been doing great as our lobby dog! Briscoe has done great with every dog she’s met—both big and small—and could thrive as an only dog or with a canine companion, as long as she continues to be well socialized. Briscoe is a happy, loving, larger-than-life pup who’s ready for a home that appreciates big dogs, big personalities, and plenty of fun. If you’re looking for a happy, goofy Great Dane to share your life with, Briscoe might be your girl! She is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. She has not been tested with cats or children. Her adoption fee is $450.

Story
Animal Profile: Joe is an 80-lb Dane mix who will be 7 in April. He was originally adopted in 2020, but this past fall we received a call from a local shelter after he was surrendered for euthanasia due to allergies. We immediately took him back into our rescue. After food allergy testing, a diet change, supplements, and a Cytopoint injection, Joe is doing great and his allergies are well managed. He’s feeling good and ready to find his forever home. Foster Update: Joe is a mellow, affectionate guy who’s happiest hanging out close to his person, whether that’s napping on the couch, lounging nearby, or cuddling during movie night. He has a very calm, easygoing presence in the house and fits right into a relaxed home environment. Joe may gravitate toward women at first, but he warms up to men easily and forms strong bonds once he feels secure. While he’s friendly with everyone, Joe definitely has a preferred human and thrives on that close connection. He gets along well with resident dogs and enjoys low-key play, especially chasing in the yard. Slow, thoughtful introductions to new dogs are important, but once settled, Joe coexists nicely and keeps things peaceful. Joe looks forward to his daily walks and knows the heel command. He can be nervous or alert when encountering other dogs, particularly in busy areas. With a handler who pays attention to his signals and proactively redirects, Joe remains calm (sometimes with a bit of vocalizing). Without that support, he may pull and bark. Because of this, Joe would do best in a quieter neighborhood or suburban/rural setting where there’s more space to pass other dogs comfortably. He knows sit and down, has good obedience skills, and is very food motivated which makes continued training rewarding and fun. Joe is crate trained, house trained, and has excellent indoor manners. At bedtime, Joe politely waits to be invited onto the bed… but once invited, he’s a certified bed hog He does well with teens, loves to cuddle, and would be a wonderful match for someone looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a laid-back lifestyle and a big heart. Joe’s ideal home: • Calm, attentive humans • A less urban environment • Slow, respectful dog introductions • Someone who wants a true couch companion and devoted best friend Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $500 which includes spay/neuter, all core vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a federal 501c3 organization.  Apply online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application January 23, 2026, 8:07 pm

Story
Meet Misty! She's a smart lady who is smart as a whip! She's crate trained, mastered many commands (sit, down, off, mat, enough, go to your room, here, all done- more than most kids :). She loves to run, play fetch and be wherever you are! She's a year and a half old, and was lucky enough to have professional training donated to help her find her forever home. Whoever adopts her will receive at least one free hand off session from her trainer to help her transition go perfectly! Her ideal family would be somewhat active (she needs to run around a yard at least a few times per day). She gets along well with other dogs, but calmer dogs are best. Misty loves to play, but she can get very excited if the other dog is too energetic! She would do well with older children. Younger children and cats would require a lot of supervision. Her trainer thinks she would be a great agility dog, but she is smart enough to do anything you want to train her to do! She will require some active parenting to teach her the rules of your house, because she is so smart, she may try to make her own activities if nothing fun is provided! She's potty trained now (we had some overnight accidents until she started going in her crate at night). She's a great dog with a good head on her shoulders, and she wants to know if you are the one for her! $200 In State Adoption Fee (in Texas) $400 Out of State Fee (includes Transportation to your area) $50 Temporary fuel surcharge.

Story
Welcome Reesaw to CCPAL Rescue. She is an 18-month-old Great Dane mix dog. She weighs in at 102 pounds. She is good with other dogs and came in with an older Great Dane named Planter. Reesaw does pull on leash but we will be working with that. She is moderately active and would be fine with a moderately active family. She is a good balance between active and couch potato. She is good with people and will bond deeply with her person. Great Danes are typically a little shy and they warm up and bond deeply to their family. She does fit this characteristic. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Someone who has owned an XL dog or a Great Dane would be preferable. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is 180. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions.
