Story
This is Alphonse. Alfie for short. He is a 4 year old Great Pyrenees/ Australian shepherd mixed. He is a LARGE dog. He is fixed and has had his yearly rabies vaccination. House/crate trained. Knows basic commands. He would be best in a home that is willing to work with him. As much as we’ve tried over the last 4 years we’ve not had luck with his behavior. He is very leery of people unless he’s around them regularly and has snapped, never bitten but snapped. He does not like small animals other than our ducks. He is a true guardian dog, if you have live stock he would be ideal for that. He MUST have a job. These dogs stress without work. He is good with children and other dogs. But after all our behavioral classes and training he still goes after the cats. He did end up hurting one of them pretty badly.

Coronado was found as a stray 12/28/25 with no tag/chip. Adopted 1/3/26.He is very friendly and loves to be near people, and will follow you around the house, laying by you whenever possible. Being petted is one of his favorite things, and he enjoys being brushed.Coronado loves walks and does great on leash. He can walk 2 miles with no problem, but is just as happy lounging around the house with you. Don't let his age fool you. : )Appears he was trained to stay off furniture.He is neutered with all shots, his teeth were cleaned 3/17/26Coronado is hard of hearing.Coronado needs a home with no other dogsHe is not tested with cats or childrenAll info is based on my experience with him since no previous history is knownThe ONLY reason I am rehoming him is because he does not get along with my current dog, and it breaks my heart.I don't want him to ever have to be in a shelter again and am committed to finding him the happy home he deserves.Submit an application today to meet this sweetie!!

This is one of the hardest posts I’ve ever had to write. We are looking for a rescue or very experienced, child-free home for our 9-year-old Border Collie, Baron. Baron is: • Incredibly smart • Loyal and loves his people • A total lounger at home, but also like to run around in the yard • Happy in a calm, predictable environment However, we need to be very honest about why we’re making this decision: Baron has anxiety and reactivity, especially with other dogs and high-stimulation situations. Most importantly, he is not safe around children. He has had two bite incidents involving our daughter, including a recent bite to the face after being startled. Because of this, we cannot keep him in our home, and our priority is finding the safest and most appropriate placement for both him and others. Baron would do best in: • A child-free home • With someone experienced with reactive/anxious dogs • A calm environment (not a busy household) • Someone who understands bordercollie's behavior
