Gus has experience being around small children, though he would thrive best in a home with young adults or older children. While he can be selective with other dogs, he has successfully adjusted living with another dog in the past with proper time and introduction. She can be feisty and vocal with other dogs at times, and she’s not afraid to stand her ground, even around adult dogs. But underneath all that confidence is a sensitive puppy who loves curling up close to her people — preferably with her head resting in your lap. Cheddar is currently crated in the bedroom at night and does well with the routine. She has done well with dogs, cats, and children as young as 3 years old. This beautiful girl is not only the mama to our adorable cheese puppies, but she’s also quickly become a favorite among staff and volunteers thanks to her gentle nature, goofy antics, and ever-present smile. She truly lives up to her name — she’s the whole package and absolutely runs the show in the best possible way. Like many Great Pyrenees, The Big Cheese has an independent side, but she much prefers being close to her people and involved in whatever they’re doing. Whether she’s following you from room to room, supervising outdoor activities, or simply lounging nearby with a happy grin on her face, she’s happiest when she gets to be part of the family. She has a calm, easygoing presence that makes people instantly fall in love with her. Despite her giant size, The Big Cheese is incredibly gentle and affectionate. She has the kind of personality that makes visitors stop and say, “She is SO sweet.” She’s the perfect mix of loving companion and entertaining goofball. One of her favorite hobbies?
