I’m posting for a friend. This is Snowball. He’s a big cuddly boy who loves running around the yard. His owner is currently not working so she can’t take care of him. He isn’t very socialized outside of the people who live in the home so he’s people aggressive. His fur isn’t being well maintained at all. Overall he isn’t being taken care of like he needs to be. If you have any other questions about him please reach out

Story
GRRAND has taken in a momma Great Pyr and her 12, now 12 week old puppies!!! OH MY!!! GRRAND was contacted by a shelter that feared bringing Athena and her pups into their shelter, because they were going to have to euthanize them all upon intake due of lack of space!! It took a village, but they are all safe, bathed and in foster homes! They all apparently lived in a barn stall, never leaving it, and standing on a ton of feces, which they were covered in when they arrived. Some of the pups are terrified, having lived in the barn stall, with no socialization, all their lives and are going to need families with a lot of patience. After a rough start, Runey and Piper are in a foster home together, and we are happy to report they are doing great! They are SO sweet and playful and LOVE attention! Update August 28: "They now all run up to me and my husband when we go in the room!! This is so great! They lick my nose and they come over for pets and love and we all played tug of war"! Here is their latest report on Piper as of Aug 21: "Piper is still the timid one, but she is doing better though. If I’m very slow she has krept up to me once for a pet. She wags her tail when i came in the room. Ideally if Runey and Piper get adopted separately, they MUST go to a home with another dog. Piper for sure and she needs a dog that she can learn the ropes from and gain confidence from. They light up when another dog is around and I really don’t think I would have gotten them out of their room if not for my dog Ivy. Piper is starting to gain confidence daily and gets along great with my other dogs". Interested applicants should expect these puppies to be big, and you should be prepared for that sweet and independent Great Pyrenees personality... to know the Great Pyr breed is to love them, but they are not Goldens, and we suggest you do some research on this beautiful breed before applying! These puppies all will need a secure above ground fenced yard as Great Pyrs love to be in their yard to protect and patrol, and this happens best when they are in a secure space! Please note the GRRAND puppy guidelines: Puppies are a lot of work, and if you are interested in a GRRAND puppy and have children, PLEASE SEE THE ADOPTION FAQs section of the website for more detailed info. GRRAND policies stipulate a few important things that may stop you from applying, and here are 2 big ones- A: GRRAND will NOT place a puppy under the age of 6 months with families with children under 6 yrs old  B: Any applicant with children under the age of 16, will require a home with direct access to a securely fenced yard... meaning direct access to the yard from the home… so this means no apartments or condos.  As with all puppies, they will need a home where someone is home most of the time as they need to be fed regularly, and let to go outside consistently and constantly ALL DAY LONG so potty training can be a breeze. They will be looking for a home with a fenced in yard and a family with LOTS of time and patience to socialize and work with a puppy so they can grow up to be good pups! ***Exercise and direction are a must as a tired puppy is a good puppy!! It is a lot of fun, but it is a lot of work, and if you don't have the time, an active and non-stop playful puppy may not be for you!  Families must understand there needs to be constant supervision as children of all ages need to learn to respect an animal and puppies, and need to be taught boundaries. We are excited these pups will finally get to know what a nice soft bed, in a warm and cozy home with a loving family is all about! If you are interested in one of Athena's puppies, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org ##1787634##

Story
This is Joker-now AKA Joey... A Great Pyrenees When this poor pup came to the kennel on August 2nd, 2023 he was 6 weeks old, and absolutely terrified. He came in with his 11 siblings, but was by far the most fearful. We are happy to report, he is doing great in his foster home!!! This guy... he has blossomed in his foster home! Here is what his foster parents have to say…. We’ve now had Joey for over a month. He is opening up more every day. Our dogs have seemed to really help with his confidence so it’s best he go to a home with another confident, stable, sweet dog who can help Joey build his OWN confidence from, and who can show him the ropes.. Not sure how he is around cats, but on our walks when he sees one he’s not interested. When going outside he loves doing his rounds and makes sure to alert us if he hears anything. He is super sweet and loves to put his paws right on me for pets and cuddles! UPDATE 2-27 on Joey from his foster family "He’s settling in nicely after just about a week with his foster family. His favorite thing to do is to pull all of his toys out and try and pick apart the soft toys. He doesn’t chew on anything he’s not supposed to, has had no accidents in the house, and walks well on a leash. His personality is starting to come out and he is so sweet, someone out there will be lucky to have him"! 'Joey' needs a loving, calm and most importantly, a patient home where someone is home more often than not, and who can spend time with him to help him build trust. Interested applicants should expect Joey to be big, and you should be prepared for that sweet and independent Great Pyrenees personality... to know the Great Pyr breed is to love them, but they are not Goldens, and we suggest you do some research on this beautiful breed before applying! He will need a secure above ground fenced yard as Great Pyrs love to be in their yard to protect and patrol, and this happens best when they are in a secure space! Can you help this sweet, shy boy learn how to become a confident, happy dog? If interested in meeting Joey, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org ##1787643##

Story
THIS BEAUTIFUL face... and as you can see, she is a good foster momma to puppies!!! Willow is approximately 1 year old (give or take a month or 2), 80lb female (still room for growth) Great Pyrenees looking for a home at no fault of her own. She was rescued from the side of a country road by a couple who has had some unfortunate health issues which have made them unable to care for Willow. Here is an update from her foster mom on 1-19 "Willow is the sweetest dog on the planet. She puts up with Spud who has a higher energy level than she her, with absolutely no corrections, no temper, just calm playfulness. Someone really needs to adopt this girl. She is fine with a 4' fence and would probably prefer a canine companion but I think would be fine with an attentive family or person. She is just so lovable and deserves a very lovable home". She also says "Ok, everyone!!! Willow needs a furever home. She is as perfect a Pyr as I have ever fostered. She has that calm temperament of a Pyr, is good on a leash, loves all people and dogs. Is good with cats. Not kid tested, but I expect her to be fine with them after seeing her put up with little Spud’s shenanigans. She loves playing with other dogs. And she is absolutely gorgeous. She is good in a 4’ fence. Has shown no interest in scaling my gates. What is not to like about her? Why hasn’t she been adopted?!?! Her only faults are:  1. she is not used to a car and will whine when she is in one. This will pass with more trips to fun places.   2. She is still a puppy and needs containing while you are gone so she doesn’t find inappropriate things to chew on. This will of course, pass with time" Willow is looking for a home with a fenced in yard, as the Great Pyrenees breed love nothing more than to hang out in the yard, patrol a little here and there and watch the world go by. If you are a Great Pyrenees lover, you will know their delightful stubborness is what makes them so fun and challenging just the same!! If you are not familiar with the breed, we suggest you do some research on the breed before applying as to know the Great Pyr is to love the Great Pyr! Willow has a very gentle nature and had gone to a temporary foster home for the holidays that has another Great Pyr and a couple cats too! And geeze... she has really proven to be "quite the Gem"! Here are a few things they say about Willow: "Took Willow to run errands and walk through Lowe’s. She got a lot of pets and even walked up to someone sitting at a desk, put her muzzle under his elbow and flipped his arm up demanding pets and he was happy to do so"! "This sweet and super happy girl may be one of the EASIEST fosters we have ever had! She is smart, loves life and attention and wants to please! We are just starting to see her playful personality come out and it is very fun to watch evolve. Willow will thrive with someone who can be home with her more than not, and has the time to shower her with TLC! She is food motivated, which makes her an easy dog to train as she is already learning some of the basic commands, and we are continuing to evaluate her attitude towards our cats. Today our cat was sleeping in the chair and Willow walked over and gently sniffed and walked away! We are strongly monitoring, but looking good so far, and will keep updating! We have a six foot privacy fence and Willow does not go potty on walks, so as stated previously, a fenced in yard is very important for her. With that, she absolutely loves her daily walks, (usually twice plus yard playtime) so she is needing an active family that can take her out for daily socialization, exercise and stimulation! On walks she is friendly when approached by neighbors; her tail instantly wags and she loves a friendly pat. She is fit and healthy and she will truly blossom with someone who is affectionate towards her and can give her, the daily dose of exercise and direction she needs. We have seen that she is very leery of cars; she was afraid to get in our car so we have been working on helping her become comfortable in the car and happy to report, that thanks to encouragement and treats we were able to get her in the car twice today for a ride and playtime! Willow is house-trained and is not afraid of loud noises including vacuum cleaners, tv sounds, kitchen and household noises, or power tools. She is a great companion who enjoys being petted BUT she also will lay on a dog bed or curl up at our feet. Willow is still a young pup, she is needing the proper direction and supervision to keep her out of trouble at home, and to learn the boundaries of what is for dogs, and what is NOT for dogs! When we are not interacting with her, Willow enjoys chewing on a strong nylabone or a rubber toy filled with yummy treats. We have loved having Willow as our foster pup as she is a gentle soul that needs a loving home". Please check back later for more info on Willow, but if you would like to meet this pretty girl, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org   ##1853081##

Story
Hi! I'm Callie. I'm a gorgeous 2+ years old Pyrenees/Lab mix! I arrived at the kennel in late October, so I haven't been there too long. I've had a hard time over the last year. I was a stray for most of that time. A friendly postal worker noticed me and kept an eye on me. Eventually she and another good samaritan trapped me and took me in while they found a great rescue for me to come to. Of course I was very scared and intimidated when I first arrived at GRRAND. I would curl up in the corner of my kennel and not want to come out. But the kennel volunteers would sit with me in my run for hours, calmly petting and reassuring me that everything was about to get so much better - and they were right. Now I get to run and play with a ton of dogs in the play yard. I have so many new friends. I willingly go to the volunteers now for love and treats. We even go walking off-site and they tell me how wonderful I am on a leash. I get to sleep in a nice warm kennel with a blanket. I get two meals a day and as many treats as I can convince the vols to give me. It's so much better than living alone in deserted structures and dumpster diving for food! So I've come a really long way. I'm liking other dogs, trusting people and starting to enjoy life indoors! I think it's time for the next stage of my life where I can move in with a loving family. Could you help get me out of the kennel and into your loving family? I hope so! Callie was initially very scared and withdrawn, but with lots of love and attention from our awesome volunteers, she is starting to come out of her shell.  She is very calm and sweet. Our vet thinks she's around 2.5 years old. She loves to play with most other dogs in the play yards, as long as they are calm and laid-back. We also have her walking on a leash and she's doing wonderfully. She loves to be gently petted.  She is still a little timid with people she doesn't know, but warms as soon as she trusts you.  Until Callie is settled in a home she is going to be a flight risk, so she does need a secure fenced yard. She can scale a 4' fence, so ideally the home will have a 6' privacy fence.  She can go with another calm dog. As she is a flight risk pup she will not be able to go in a home with children under 13. We don't know how she does with cats. She does not mess in her kennel run, which is a decent indication she is house trained, but not a guarantee. Her energy level is moderate to low.  Callie is now ready for her next step, to go to a home, either foster or adoptive. Please fill out an app at GRRAND.org if you would like to meet her! ##1854181##

Story
Our volunteers spent some time with them this past Sunday to get these super cute photos of these affectionate and curious pups. You won't be able to help but fall in love with them. We would really like to see them adopted together and Club K9 Dog Bar has graciously offered to give 2 free 1 year memberships to an approved and finalized adoption of these floofs! We can't thank Club K9 Dog Bar enough for always caring and supporting our pups... Now for more on Jane and George... Jane and her brother George are 2.5 year old, 100ish lbs (each), beautiful and bonded Great Pyrenees looking for their forever family together who can offer them the security of a fenced in yard and a warm loving home. Their family had to make the hard decision to surrender them, for their safety and needing better containment. We are told by our volunteers that "They are a fabulous pair… super sweet and calm, house trained, beautiful, young, great with cats, lived with other dogs, and overall very easy dogs"!!   Jane and George are looking for a loving foster or forever family, with a secure above ground fenced yard as Great Pyrs love to be in their yard to protect and patrol, and this happens best when they are in a secure space! Great Pyrenees are a special and amazing Large Guardian Dog breed, and interested applicants should be prepared for that sweet and independent Great Pyrenees personality... to know the Great Pyr breed is to love them, but they are not Goldens, and we suggest you do some research on this beautiful breed to read about the differences. They are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. We are still learning about these 2 cuties, but if you think you would like to meet them, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org ##1938343##
