Story
Odin is a 7-year-old Pyrenees mix, with a heart as big as his paws and eyes that seem to speak their own language. From the moment he found his way to his foster family, Odin’s gentle nature and playful spirit began to shine. Despite weighing in at 99 pounds, Odin is essentially a lap dog—content to curl up beside his humans wherever they are. He loves being part of every moment, whether it’s snuggling on the bed, joyriding in the car, or walking by their side. His people are his absolute favourite thing in the world. He loves to get attention and pets, and will put his big head in your lap when you’re sitting down. From his gentle taking of treats to his soft, expressive eyes, Odin is as sweet as they come. He’s friendly when meeting other dogs and humans while on a leash walk and he’s treat-motivated and eager to please. His playful energy, affectionate nature, and loyalty make him a great buddy. Odin is a social and friendly companion who enjoys being around people of all sizes, shapes, and ages. While he thrives in a loving, active household, he does best in a home without cats. He currently lives with other dogs but doesn’t need them, he mostly ignores them. In fact, he doesn’t really get along with other large, dominant males and would prefer a home either as the only dog, or with small dog companions. He can be a typical great Pyrenees in some ways - he can be stubborn and he loves to wander. But he doesn’t love to be outside by himself, he prefers to be outside with his humans. Odin is crate trained and fully potty trained. He is working hard on walking with a leash. He’s curious and loves the outdoors, especially his long walks! Apply today to adopt this amazing senior boy, he’s ready to live his best life! Odin is being fostered in RI and is adoptable throughout Northeastern states. *All breed listings are educated guesses and not guaranteed*

Story
Jonah is a 4 year old Great Pyrenees looking for a very specific and committed forever home. He is a big, loving boy who needs an experienced adopter that understands guardian breeds and is willing to manage his quirks and advocate for his needs. Jonah requires a ranch style home with minimal stairs and a fully fenced yard. He needs easy, direct access to the outdoors without relying on walks for potty breaks. While he does enjoy playing with other dogs, a calm, easygoing Pyrenees or similar dog would be the best match, as his play style can be a bit much. He is reactive to other dogs while on leash but can coexist just fine with dogs in neutral environments like the groomer. True to his breed, Jonah has some guarding tendencies. He does not guard his food bowl, treats, or toys and allows handling while eating, but he will guard items he has stolen or discovered, especially anything he considers high value. Because of this, management and experience are key. Jonah cannot live with cats and has a very strong prey drive. If he were to catch something, he is unlikely to give it up. Jonah is stubborn on walks and can be unruly when excited to meet new people. He is submissive but lacks manners when overstimulated, so ongoing structure and consistency are important. He is not a fan of car rides and benefits from having another dog to help him feel confident getting in. Despite all of this, Jonah is an absolute love with his people. He is a huge snuggler, craves attention, and bonds deeply with those he trusts. He does well in a crate and settles nicely when given clear expectations. Jonah is not for a first time dog owner, but for the right experienced home willing to commit to him fully, he will be an incredibly loyal and affectionate companion. Diesel was a rescue dog from Texas, that ended up at Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester MA. He is about to be 8 years old. Diesel is friendly with all other dogs and cats he has ever came across and is up to date on all shots. We recently moved to CT and with my busy work schedule I cannot provide him with the life he deserves. I am looking for a home for him that will be able to be attentive as I can not provide that for him anymore.
