Story
Handsome Ozzy is searching for his forever home and is available to meet you! He is a gorgeous Great Pyrenees, 2 years old, weighs 85 lbs, and is fully vetted and microchipped. Ozzy will thrive well in a rural setting, a quieter neighborhood with less stimulation from busy roads and frequent foot traffic. Ozzy is most content when there isn’t continuous outside stimulation from close neighbors, cars, dogs walking by or kids playing. When it’s quiet, he is so happy to just chill. He enjoys going for car rides and absolutely loves going for walks and walks well on leash using a gentle leader. He gets along with other dogs who he has established a relationship with and will play and romp with them. His favorite pastime is hanging outside (when it isn’t too hot) where he can enjoy his surroundings. Ozzy loves to play with his toys and often chews on his elk antlers throughout the day. We are looking for a savvy home, one that is fully fenced in (no invisible fence), with no children under the age of 16. Ozzy likes to play and do doggy things with people and dogs he knows but there are times when he prefers his space and personal downtime. Better said, Ozzy is affectionate and loving, but he does have the Great Pyrenees independence trait so his home would need to recognize and understand that about his breed. He can be aloof toward people he is meeting for the first time as he takes time to assess his surroundings. Ozzy is working on his food bowl aggression and has improved a great deal through training and consistency. His home would need to be mindful of this (especially if another dog is in the home) and continue working with him in this area. He does take food gently from your hand. We do not know how Ozzy is with cats so we would say no cats is best at this time. If interested in meeting Ozzy and learning more about him, please email adoptions@smilingdogfarms.org and please include a phone number where you can be reached. Please Note: We are always in need of foster homes for our dogs. If you're interested in making a difference in a dog’s life, we would love to share with you what it means to be a foster parent.

Story
Everyone, meet Floyd, a Great Pyrenees mix who was sent to rescue after his family decided to relocate and could not take him with them. He's now ready to find his new forever family. An outdoorsy active home that will include Floyd in their adventures would be an awesome fit for him. He's smart, athletic, playful, and likes to be around people. He likes to be pet and will affectionately nudge you with his nose. He’d love a home that loves to be as active as he is, one that would be committed to taking him on daily walks, whether around the neighborhood or out on trail walks - anywhere where he can explore, sniff, play and be physically and mentally active would be great. This mental and physical stimulation will be important to Floyd in order for him to thrive. Fenced in? Fantastic because he loves to stretch those legs and run. He walks well on leash and knows some basic commands. He lived in a home with young children and did great with them. Floyd is still learning to adjust around other dogs at our rescue so a home where he will be the one and only would be best for him right now. He's neutered, up to date with vaccinations and will be 2-2 1/2 in April 2026. His current weight is around 60 lbs. Would love to see Floyd lovingly spoiled! Are you the one? If interested in applying for Floyd, either for foster or to adopt, please email adoptions@smilingdogfarms.org for an application.

Story
Lottie – 2 Month Old Great Pyrenees Mix Lottie is a 2 month old Great Pyrenees mix with a soft, fluffy coat and a gentle, sweet nature. Her mom is a Great Pyrenees mix, and based on dogs seen in the area, we believe dad may be a pure Great Pyrenees. While that is not guaranteed, Lottie is expected to grow into a large, fluffy adult dog. Great Pyrenees are a livestock guardian breed known for being loyal, intelligent, and naturally protective. Lottie will likely develop these traits as she matures. Because of this, she will do best in a home that is familiar with or willing to learn about the needs of guardian breeds. At this age, Lottie is a typical young puppy who enjoys being held, playing, and exploring her surroundings. As she grows, she will need structure, consistent training, and an environment suited for a large breed dog. Lottie is: Spayed Microchipped Up to date on vaccines and preventions Adoption Fee: $250 Local Adoption Fee (in Texas) $550 Out of State Adoption (includes transport to your area) Lottie is looking for a home prepared for a large, loyal companion and ready to provide the guidance and care she will need as she grows.
