Story
This is Willow. Someone said she was near death and needed to be picked up. It was right before holidays and I couldnt just let her sit there. I brought her home to save her life and now I need someone to give her a forever home. I feel like I was wrong for getting her knowing I couldn't care for her long term but I could not let her die. They said she is the runt and wouldn’t fight for her food. They said she is about 6 months. They also said mom was hit by a car and passed when they were younger. They said the mom was a Great Dane mastiff mid and dad was great pyrenees. When they handed her to me it was horrible. She couldn’t walk. She smelled like a dead animal for days after being bathed several times. She has put on some weight and she loves to snuggle. She has been around children and a big dog and she is great. She is not food aggressive in anyway she does go poop and pee outside every time but still has accidents peeing. Text for more info! 2nd pick is when rescued

Story
This big guy was abandoned at our office building about 6 months ago. We’ve vetted him. He had a tic born illness, but is completely healed. He isn’t fixed yet. Willing to help with costs if adopter needs. He NEEDS a fenced yard, as he will wander off. He loves kids and dogs. He is good with our indoor cats, sometimes he chases the outside one. He is loving and has an amazing personality. We already have a husky and we do not have the ability to get a large fence for him.

Pet Location: Wayside Waifs Campus - I`d love to show off all the cool things I’ve learned at Wayside! Please arrive at the shelter before 4pm on our open adoption days to meet me! My Friends at Wayside say: - During my time at Wayside, I have enjoyed being around other dogs. - New people and things make me a little nervous. Let’s take things slow!- Once I warm up, I love snuggles and pets!- My previous owner said that I am house-trained.My home needs are: - I need a home with kids 6 years old and older since I tend to be nervous around new people and loud noises. - Wayside requires bringing the whole family out to meet me before adoption - new people can make me a little nervous.

Story
Milo DOB: 11/06/2025 Breed: Great Pyrenees / Labrador Retriever / German Shepherd mix (best guess) Milo is a bright, curious puppy with a charming mixed look and an engaging personality. He loves to investigate new things, play with toys, and interact with the people around him. Milo brings a nice balance of puppy playfulness and thoughtful moments, making him fun to watch and easy to connect with. Like all puppies, Milo is learning his routines and will thrive with continued training, socialization, and positive guidance. He would do well in a home excited to nurture a growing pup and ready for the time, patience, and joy that come with puppyhood. Milo is ready to start his next chapter with a family who will help him grow into a confident, loyal companion. Breed mix is a best guess based on appearance and age; we cannot guarantee breed makeup. ✨ All Heart of America Humane Society dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations. If you have other dogs in your home, we require that they meet our dog prior to adoption. 💲 Adoption fee: $225 📍 Once you apply, the foster will contact you to schedule a meet and greet. 👉 Apply here: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAUS/Dog

Story
Spot Great Pyrenees / German Shepherd / Labrador mix (best guess) DOB: 11/06/2025 Spot is a thoughtful, gentle puppy who enjoys life at a calmer pace. He’s a bit cautious at first but quickly shows his affectionate side—he loves to snuggle, curl up for naps, and be carried around. Playtime happens in short bursts, followed by plenty of relaxation. Nicknamed “Raccoon” thanks to his facial markings (not because he’s a trash panda), Spot enjoys laying in the sun and spending time with his brother. He does very well in his crate and will patiently wait to be released, even when the door is open. Spot is not a mouthy puppy and would do well with smaller children. He gets along well with large dogs and, with proper introductions and training, may do fine with cats. Based on his mix, he’s expected to grow into a medium-to-large adult dog. Spot would be a great addition to a variety of homes and is ready to continue growing with a family who will guide him as he matures. All of our dogs/pups are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines. Adoption fee for all dogs/pups: $225. Our dogs are in foster homes across the KC metro. We do not have a shelter facility. Apply here: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAUS/Dog
