My son and I adopted Bronco about a year ago through Peak Lab Rescue in Apex, NC. Bronco is a loving and energetic one and a half year old 64 lb mix breed Carolina Dog with Great Pyrenees. He's smart (just learned to catch treats in his mouth) and wants to be near his people. We have also learned that he resource guards and is reactive / aggressive towards other dogs. This has become an issue with my girlfriends' and parents' dogs. He's looking for a forever home without kids or pets to enjoy and protect.

Story

Cato (Latin for wisdom) is a sweet, laid back, and protective dog. He loves walking, playing, and being pet! He's so very sweet! He spent his first two years on a farm with lots to chase and investigate. He's recently joined us in the suburbs, and has done well, even with a smaller backyard and sidewalk walking. He's friendly and well loved by our neighbors and children. He behaves well and came to us well trained. We're hoping he can find a loving family (and a farm setting would be ideal)! We love Cato and have enjoyed his sweet and affectionate personality, but we have more travel than we anticipated, and we do not have as much space as Cato would like. We could not have asked for a better dog!

Story

Nugget is a sweet, curious puppy who is treat-motivated and quick to pick up new skills. She loves nothing more than sticking close to her people. Her playful personality shines on walks through her endearing head tilts, sudden puppy leaps, and a proud insistence on carrying home her favorite sticks (watch her video to see how she likes to carry sticks). Her mama is a Great Pyrenees and her dad is unknown, but judging by those ears and that cute face, we have a pretty good idea which side of the family supplied the hound genes to her and her siblings. Because she thrives on human interaction and is still navigating puppyhood, Nugget needs a household where someone is around for most of the day. She is gentle with kids of all ages and respectful with cats, and was a crowd-pleaser at a recent adoption event. While slightly shy when first introducing herself to new dogs, she warms up quickly and would benefit greatly from a confident resident canine companion to build her self-assurance. She is house-trained and crate-trained, but she will still need 3-4 hour until she gets a few months older. Nugget is up to date on vaccines and will be spayed soon.

Meet Aspen, the largest of the “A” Litter puppies that are taking the internet by storm! Neighbors, friends, and fellow fosters have fallen in love with this girl instantly. She will likely be a larger dog once full-grown (she’s currently 14 lbs.) , and it’s a joy to watch her clumsy feet find their way at this cute age of 13 weeks. She has been fostered by herself in a foster home and enjoying ‘only child’ attention with no other dogs in the home. But her interaction with her siblings before arriving in this home, as well as her reaction to neighborhood dogs walking by has been positive. She sleeps well in her puppy pen overnight (occasionally she protests for about 5-10 minutes). Because she prefers to always be with you, she likely would like to learn to sleep at her people’s bedside overnight once she’s proven to be 100% trustable in her potty-training skills. She’s well on her way as far as potty training, with occasional accidents if left too long with out going out. Thankfully she knows how to potty on the newspaper in her puppy pen, or to go to the office door and bark to let me know ‘it’s time’! She goes pretty quickly once taken to ‘the usual spot’ for this duty. When meeting the grandchildren (ages 4 and 8) she was the Belle of the Ball and enjoyed every minute of the high-energy visit. Being a puppy she’s easily excited so be prepared for a lot of puppy-kisses! She loves to run around behind, in front of, beside people when playing. Not to forget her love of balls and all toys that are chewy. As she grows I’m sure she’ll be ready for longer walks to enjoy with you (once her legs are long enough to keep up!). She is a relatively ‘chill’ dog, who enjoys laying at my feet when I’m at my desk during the day. On occasion she comes up for some attention, or to sit in my lap and try to figure out what that keyboard clicking is all about. When I put her in a small pool outside to give her a bath she wasn’t a fan (probably because she didn’t have her sisters modeling the fun that playing in water can be!), but she tolerated the event well in spite of her low enthusiasm level! Aspen is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and ready to meet her forever family. If you’re looking for a puppy who adapts readily to playful energy, chill evenings cuddling, or just walking around outside discovering the world - Aspen would love to meet you!
