Story
Mama Kay2 years, spayed female, 50 lbsPyrenees, Bassett Hound, Cattle Dog mix Mama Kay has raised her pups (Alpha Guardian litter) and this farm dog is now ready to find her forever home. She is the sweetest girl and loves all the people and pets. She is true to her breeding, and is a fantastic alarm for intruders. She is medium energy but loves to play and romp with an active dog similar in size in her foster home. LIKES: Barking like it's her job (it is); chewing bones, tough chews, etc. Sleeping on soft beds and cushions or cool floors. DISLIKES: Listening to requests to stop barking. TRAITS: Friendly with everyone, she takes her role as intruder deterrent seriously. But she would probably welcome a stranger into the house and let them rub her belly. She loves walks and opportunities to sniff and explore new places and things. She likes being outside and resting at her sentry position. POTTY TRAINING: She does best with regular opportunities to go outside. She signals and stands by the door if inside. CRATE TRAINING: She has been putting herself in a crate with a cushy dog bed to rest while at her foster home, but she resists bring put in a crate when she knows she will be closed in sometimes. She doesn't howl or bark when in a crate in general though. Use of a crate when she is unsupervised for an extended period is recommended because she is smart. Overall Mama Kay is a great dog and joy to have around. We want to find her a home where her skills are appreciated and where she can be her best self. No apartments or homes without yards, or homes in densely populated neighborhoods. She barks at cats but wouldn't hurt one. To further inquire about MAMA KAY, submit an application. https://wigglytails.org/adoption-application/ Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how MAMA KAY will mesh with your lifestyle. Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with next steps and an opportunity to set up a Meet & Greet. Our process is NOT a “first come, first served” process. (We DO NOT hold pets for later consideration.) Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants for the best possible fit for each adoptable pet, and potential family. Submitting an application does not guarantee a call or response from our rescue. Our volunteers will screen the applications and reach out if it is determined to be a good fit. We look forward to facilitating a positive and solid adoption for MAMA KAY, as well as her future family. *Fostered in Eugene/Springfield, OR ADOPTION APP: https://wigglytails.org/adoption-application/ ##2652264##

Story
Xander – The Gentle Soul 🖤 Xander’s story isn’t an easy one. Life hasn’t always been kind to him, and his past has left its mark. He carries a shy, cautious air, the kind that tells you he’s seen more than his fair share of hard days. But beneath that timid shell is a heart aching to trust, to love, and to finally belong. Xander isn’t the dog who will come crashing into your lap right away. He’s the one who will quietly watch, waiting to see if your kindness is real, if your patience is steady, and if your love is the kind that doesn’t give up. With time, gentle encouragement, and consistency, Xander begins to unfold—like a flower opening in the sun after a long storm. And when he does? You’ll see the makings of the most loyal sidekick you could ever ask for. The kind of friend who doesn’t just follow you—he chooses you, every single day. ✨ Shy but deeply sensitive. ✨ Needs a calm, steady home filled with patience. ✨ Blossoms under gentle guidance. ✨ Has the heart of a true sidekick once trust is built. Xander may not be everyone’s dog—but for the right person, he’ll be the dog. The one who teaches you the beauty of second chances, the power of patience, and the unshakable bond that comes when a wounded soul learns to trust again. 🐾

Story
Meet Hayes Hayes is a handsome young Great Pyrenees with a heart of gold who is looking for the right forever family. After he and his previous owner were unexpectedly displaced due to a personal crisis, Hayes found his way into our care. He was clearly loved, but his early environment wasn’t the ideal fit for a growing livestock guardian breed. Since joining us, he’s had the chance to settle in, decompress, and really let his personality shine, and we’ve loved watching him blossom. Like many Great Pyrenees, Hayes is thoughtful, observant, and naturally aware of his surroundings. When he first arrived, he was cautious around new people, but with time and consistency, he has become much more confident. These days, Hayes is happy to greet visitors after a proper introduction and no longer shows the same level of concern around strangers that he once did. While he still has the independent, discerning nature typical of his breed, he’s proven himself to be a truly sweet, gentle, and affectionate boy who loves spending time with his people. Hayes absolutely enjoys the company of other dogs and would likely thrive with another mature, well-balanced dog who can help show him the ropes. As he’s matured, it’s become clear that Hayes has many wonderful qualities that make Great Pyrenees so special. He’s loyal, intelligent, and devoted, but he will do best with someone who appreciates guardian breeds and understands their unique personalities. He’ll benefit from continued structure, training, and an owner who enjoys working with an intelligent dog that likes to think for himself. We think Hayes would be happiest in a rural or semi-rural home with a securely fenced yard where he has room to stretch his legs and enjoy the outdoors. While he doesn’t need livestock to be happy, he’d likely appreciate a quieter lifestyle over a busy neighborhood. Hayes previously lived with young children and was reported to be uncomfortable around them, so we’re looking for an adult-only home or one with respectful teenagers (13+). His history with cats is unknown. Hayes is a wonderful young dog with so much to offer. He’s loyal, affectionate, goofy at times, and incredibly rewarding once you’ve earned his trust. For someone who understands and appreciates the Great Pyrenees breed, Hayes has all the makings of an exceptional lifelong companion. If you think Hayes might be the missing piece of your family, we’d love to hear from you! Be sure to submit an adoption application through our website. Adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, dewormer, fecal testing, flea/tick prevention, and age-appropriate vaccinations. Hayes would do great in a home with… Cats: Dogs: Kiddos: 13+   ##2766357##
