Story
Meet Hayes!
Hayes is a young Great Pyrenees puppy who is looking for a very special forever home. We are helping network this handsome boy after he and his owner were suddenly displaced by a personal crisis. Hayes was deeply loved, but the environment he found himself in was not ideal for a growing livestock guardian breed puppy. Now, we're hoping to find a home that truly understands and appreciates the unique dog Hayes is becoming. As a young Great Pyrenees, Hayes is already showing many of the traits his breed is known for. He is alert, observant, and naturally aware of his surroundings. New people or unfamiliar things entering his space may cause him to pause and assess the situation before deciding they're safe. Once he's had a moment to evaluate things, however, Hayes reveals his softer side, he's a sweet, affectionate boy who loves the people he trusts.
Hayes absolutely enjoys the company of other dogs and would likely thrive with a mature, well-balanced female dog who can help show him the ropes. His personality falls somewhere between that of a companion pet and a working livestock guardian breed, though he has not yet been introduced to livestock. Because of his breed traits and developing temperament, Hayes will need an experienced owner who is familiar with working breeds and understands the importance of structure, boundaries, training, and appropriate mental engagement. With the right guidance, he has all the potential to mature into a confident, stable adult. We believe Hayes would be happiest in a rural or semi-rural home with space to roam and secure fencing. A busy neighborhood environment would likely be overwhelming and stressful for him. Hayes came from a home with small children, and it was reported that he was not comfortable around them. For this reason, we are looking for an adult-only home or one with older, respectful teens. His history with cats is unknown.
Hayes is a happy, loyal, and affectionate young dog who forms strong bonds with his people. For someone who understands guardian breeds and is willing to invest in his future, Hayes has the potential to become an incredible companion, devoted friend, and natural protector. If you would like to be considered as Haye's forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website!
Adoption fee includes; spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, dewormer, fecal testing, flea/tick prevention and age-appropriate vaccines.
Hayes would do great in a home with...Cats : Dogs : Female Dog Kiddos : 13+
