Story
Daisy is an approximately 2.5 year old, spayed, female Great Pyrenese mix type dog who weighs 75 pounds. Daisy came to us as a stray so we do not know about her past, but here's what we can tell you about her: Daisy is one of the sweetest dogs we've ever met! She became an instant staff favorite with her mellow personality and loving demeanor. Daisy loves everyone person she meets and loves other friendly, social dogs. We do not know how Daisy would do with cats, but with the right introduction and supervision, we think she could make friends with dog savvy felines. Daisy is not a fan of car rides, so we recommend her new family immediately start positive training to get her comfortable on road trips, because she is going to be the BEST travel buddy! If you are looking for a mellow, sweet, BIG dog and don't mind lots of hair on all of your clothes, furniture, food, etc, Daisy may be the perfect dog for you! The fee to adopt Daisy is only $175.00! **Appointments and completed dog adoption applications are required for dog meet and greets, so please call the Shelter at 541-265-0720 to speak with a staff member about the animal you are interested in adopting. **All adoption candidates have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated and wormed! Adoptions include a free veterinary visit, a coupon for Feed Corral on Hwy 101, and a coupon from Mini Pet Mart. If you live in Lincoln County and have dogs in the home, they must be licensed in Lincoln County (requires current rabies vaccination) and do a meet and greet here at the shelter. If you rent, you would need permission from your landlord to have a pet. Phone messages and emails will be returned in the order they are received. You may reach us at 541-265-0720 or lcanimalshelter@co.lincoln.or.us for more information.

Story
It’s not what we have in life but who we have in our lives that matters. Meet Wallace, the best 72 lbs pup you could ever hope to meet. Wallace was born around October 2021 and was rescued from a Texas animal shelter. We don’t know much about his back story, but his foster mom knows that this handsome boy will make a family very happy.  Wallace’s foster mom says, “He arrived house trained and walks perfectly on the leash, does not pull at all. He doesn’t jump up on people or things. He gets along with with his foster canines and felines.” Wallace would make an excellent family companion. He would do very well with a canine companion to show him the ropes in his new home. Daily walks and a big yard to play in would full fill his day-to-day exercise needs. Wallace is the kind of Pyr you want part of your family.  ADOPT HERE: Complete an Adoption Application for your Pyr-fect new family companion at https://gprs.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=6206. Story
ASPEN (m)     BREED: Great Pyrenees AGE: 8 months old WEIGHT: 60-70 lbs.    This fluffy, gentle giant is such a sweet boy!Aspen has a very laid back personality, though does like to be busy, and needs things to keep him entertained. Having plenty of sturdy chew toys and bones around will help keep him away from things he shouldn't chew on. (Otherwise those foam slides you wear are realllllly tempting (LOL!).    He gets along well with other dogs and has fun playing with the resident pup in his foster home. Aspen’s still a puppy, and a BIG BOY, so we recommend dog friends sized medium (30 lbs. +) and above. If he's around smaller pups, he definitely needs close supervision as he's not quite aware of his size and might accidentally step on/knock over the smaller dogs. That being said, when Aspen is around smaller dogs, he is very sweet and gentle.    Like most Guardian breed dogs, Aspen likes to hang out in the backyard, and can often be found lounging outside with a toy, enjoying the evening. However, he likes to be where the action is and will happily follow you around the house like an adorable, fluffy shadow .    Aspen is goofy and very smart. He enjoys cuddling with his people on the couch while watching TV or taking a nap (life-size teddy bear!).    POTTY TRAINING: 100% potty trained in his foster home. Has constant access to the backyard when people are home.    CRATE TRAINING: Not a fan! He gets himself worked up and will try to break out. He would prefer to be out and about. He has been given free roam of the main part of his foster home, (for up to 2 hours, while his people run errands), and has done fine as long as he has plenty of toys and things were picked up out of his way.   Aspen is kind of a dream puppy for us. We know he will be a great addition to an active home, with people who will give him a job to do. This teddy bear of a dog has it all!   To further inquire about ASPEN, click on the link to submit an application. Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how ASPEN will mesh with your lifestyle.    Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with next steps and an opportunity to set up a Meet & Greet.    Our process is NOT a “first come, first served” process. Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants for the best possible fit for each adoptable pet, and potential family. We look forward to facilitating a positive and solid adoption for ASPEN, as well as his future family.   *Fostered in Eugene/Springfield, Oregon   https://wigglytails.org/adoption-application   Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with information about the next steps and setting up a Meet and Greet. Our process is not a “first come, first served” process. Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants to find the best fit for each adoptable dog and potential family. Filling out an application in no way guarantees you a dog or a response email as we get hundreds of applications and choose the best home for the dog. Distemper/Parvo boosters,  and rabies shot, microchip, and spay/neuter surgery are included with the adoption fee.  You will also receive a PetSmart puppy packet with hundreds of dollars of savings, a FREE bag of food, 30 minute private training session with a certified dog trainer, and a free checkup at Banfield.  Potential adopters must live within 30 miles of Eugene, Oregon. If you live outside the 30 mile radius, still send us an email, as we will can make exceptions if the circumstances are optimal for the dog or puppy. ##1729472##

ADOPT HERE: Complete an Adoption Application for your Pyr-fect new family companion at https://gprs.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=6206. PUPPIES ARE ONLY PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOGS WHO ARE AT LEAST 50 POUNDS. Our requirements for puppy adoptions are simple and necessary. Our puppies are not livestock guardians, they are family pets that live inside of the family home. Puppies must be placed in homes with a youthful, adult resident dog of similar size. This gives the puppy a mentor and a solid foundation for becoming part of the family. Puppies are only adopted to homes with someone at home at least part of the day. If no one is home for 6-8 hours at a time, please do not apply. Preference is always given to those with Great Pyrenees experience. Applicants must have secure, visible fencing and a socialization plan in place. The fastest way to be considered for a puppy is to fill out an application. Adoption is not first come, first served. GPRS and its fosters work diligently to find the right fit for each and every unique dog and puppy. Applicant’s personal pets must be current on vaccines & heartworm/flea prevention and be altered. Adoption fee: $450 (Adoption fee includes spay or neuter, distemper/parvo vaccines, flea preventative, deworming, and health certificate for travel).
