Story
Violet will be 3 in February. She is generally good with kids though she can get a little rough when playing. If she has a bone, she will resource guard with most people. She growled at our youngest son when she had a bone. My wife was attacked by a dog as a child and does not feel comfortable with the dog being around our children anymore. She is a barker. If not familiar with the breed, please research. Generally good with chickens, but will chase one from time to time. Not good with rabbits, will eat them if she has the chance. She loves being outside in all types of weather. She both loves and needs to be groomed often. Bred to be independent and will sometimes grumble at commands. Generally easy going. She currently has a fenced in acre and likes to patrol often. She does not like car rides and gets anxious in the vehicle.

Story
Meet cuddly Mario. He is a brown, dusted with black, and white Great Pyrenees mix born 12/25/2022. He is going to be big! He is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and has been given a ProHeart 6 for heartworm protection. His adoption donation is $450.00 and the transport fee $165.00. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Meet Tyberious! This handsome pup came to us in November 2023 and is looking for a patient home that will continue teaching him that the world and new people are not so scary! There is reason to believe that Tyberious was not treated the kindest in his previous home and will need to go into a home where only positive reinforcement training is used and where the people in his home can provide a structured environment for him to continue building his confidence. In his time with us, Tyberious has been very neutral and curious about other animals. He pays no mind to the other dogs in the kennel and has been friendly with with the office cats he has met! He is a very smart and food-motivated dog and has made a lot of progress even with his basic training since coming to us. Ty currently knows 'sit' ,'down', 'off' and is working on 'leave it' and his leash manners. There is nothing he is not willing to work on as long as he is given a treat in return! Tyberious is an extremely goofy pup once he gets comfortable with you! He is an absolute cuddle bug once he has bonded with you and wants nothing more than to snuggle He is always ready to play a game of tug whether he is lounging around with you inside or hanging around outside. Tyberious loves exploring the outdoors and going on car rides as long as he has someone there to reassure him that everything is fine. He gravitates more toward the women he has met but with patience (and treats!) does warm up to men as long as he is provided the time to get to know them. Once he has all that puppy energy out, Tyberious settles well and enjoys having a chew or Kong to entertain himself with. Squeaky toys and stuffed toys are his absolute favorite to play with and he will keep himself endlessly entertained by tossing them around or playing fetch. All this big boy wants to do is find a home where he can grow into the wonderful dog staff knows him to be! If you are interested in visiting Tyberious and have an approved application, feel free to contact us about more information or a time to meet!

Story
Noel is ready for her forever family! Her brother, Nicholas, is in his forever home and now it’s her turn 💜 This cutie is a 7 month-old Anatolian Shepherd mix. She is a little shy when she first meets new people but warms up quickly with the promise of treats! Either a few treats, Noel will do just about anything 😝 Noel is good on leash and in her crate! She is fostered by a working family, so she is used to being kenneled while her family is gone. She is great with other pups but does best in a small group play setting, she thinks dog parks are overwhelming! She loves to play, but also loves to snuggle up on the couch 🥰 With a love for cuddling and a playful spirit, she'd thrive in a family that enjoys both. She is potty & crate trained and sits on cue! She is very treat-driven which makes her so much fun to train. Whether as a single dog receiving lots of love or part of a furry friend group, Noel is ready to bring joy to her forever home. 🐾🩷 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN PENNSYLVANIA AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED.
