Story
Meet cuddly Mario. He is a brown, dusted with black, and white Great Pyrenees mix born 12/25/2022. He is going to be big! He is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and has been given a ProHeart 6 for heartworm protection. His adoption donation is $450.00 and the transport fee $165.00. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Snowy Noel had been sighted for a couple of weeks around Christmas hanging out in a remote wooded area, occasionally standing in the middle of that lonesome 4 way stop where she was presumably dropped off to fend for herself. People noticed and posted about her, occasionally leaving her some leftover fast food, but nobody wanted to take her in. Her foster Mom put the time in, kept driving by the spot where she had been seen and finally one morning saw her standing on the side of the road. Noel was skittish and shy, but very hungry, so she proceeded to eat the can of food that was set out for her. A leash was gingerly looped around her neck and chaos ensued! Noel had never been on a leash before and was not having any part of this one. She was finally wrangled into the car and after a few minutes, she let herself relax. By the end of the ride to her new foster home, she was calm and accepting of touches. This gentle giant only weighted 57 lbs upon intake, basically skin and bones for a girl her size. She has quickly adapted to life in a home. She gets along with dogs, cats, females and males and now has a pep to her step and enjoys lounging in the sunroom. She has lots of love to give, has a regal bearing, and will make a wonderful companion. We would suggest a fenced yard as this breed is prone to wandering.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Delilah, a beautiful Great Pyrenees Mama of 12 that is now ready to find a family of her own.  She requires a family that is willing to be patient with her.  She is very shy and takes a time to warm up.  She is not a fan of men. but loves children.  Because of her breed she does require a fence in yard.    She loves playing with other dogs, lying on the couch, toys, snuggles and giving and getting love from her Foster Mom and children.  She will need a home willing to continue patiently sharing these with her as she came to us as a very timid Mama of 12.  She loves the colder weather, snow and being outside.  She is not super active as is the Pyrenees nature, but time outside especially in the cooler weather makes her very happy.  Once she fills out she will be about 85lbs.  She is in love with her Foster's 4 yr old daughter and will do well with kids that are gentle and understand that she needs them to quiet and respectful of her.  She will thrive in the right environment and be an awesome addition to the family. She is HW positive and has one more treatment to go.  Her treatment will be explained in depth to all potential adopters and is paid for by Homeward Bound as long as she is taken to our Vet in Dillsburg, PA.   If you have an approved application and are interested in more information or possibly adopting Delilah, please reach out to her Foster Mom at thatsme963@aol.com Applications can be completed on our website:  HTTPS://homewardbound2u.rescuegroups.org Homeward Bound Animal Rescue is licensed and inspected by the PA Dept of Dog Law. Our license numbers are 4914,16902 and 16903. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 24, 2024, 11:28 am

Story
Lily is 9 months old. She is mixed with at least 6 breeds. Main breed being great pyrenees which is why she doesn't like most other dogs but with training im sure can be ok. She likes to cuddle and play with toys. She will need fenced in yard or on leash as she wants to roam and run free in woods to explore. She knows basic commands but needs more training. She is nervous dog, but once she knows you she loves you! She isn't crate trained it made her anxious she does well loose in house with doors closed and given a bone to chew. She really is a sweet heart but she needs someone who can put the time and training into her.
