Story
Meet cuddly Mario. He is a brown, dusted with black, and white Great Pyrenees mix born 12/25/2022. He is going to be big! He is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and has been given a ProHeart 6 for heartworm protection. His adoption donation is $450.00 and the transport fee $165.00. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Snowy Noel had been sighted for a couple of weeks around Christmas hanging out in a remote wooded area, occasionally standing in the middle of that lonesome 4 way stop where she was presumably dropped off to fend for herself. People noticed and posted about her, occasionally leaving her some leftover fast food, but nobody wanted to take her in. Her foster Mom put the time in, kept driving by the spot where she had been seen and finally one morning saw her standing on the side of the road. Noel was skittish and shy, but very hungry, so she proceeded to eat the can of food that was set out for her. A leash was gingerly looped around her neck and chaos ensued! Noel had never been on a leash before and was not having any part of this one. She was finally wrangled into the car and after a few minutes, she let herself relax. By the end of the ride to her new foster home, she was calm and accepting of touches. This gentle giant only weighted 57 lbs upon intake, basically skin and bones for a girl her size. She has quickly adapted to life in a home. She gets along with dogs, cats, females and males and now has a pep to her step and enjoys lounging in the sunroom. She has lots of love to give, has a regal bearing, and will make a wonderful companion. We would suggest a fenced yard as this breed is prone to wandering.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Has a spay scheduled with Timberview Veterinary in Dillsburg onMeet Delilah, a beautiful Great Pyrenees Mama of 12 that is now ready to find a family of her own.  She requires a family willing to walk her on a leash and/or a very secure fenced in area, as her drive to wander off comes natural to her like the Pyrenees breed.   She now loves playing with other dogs, lying on the couch, toys, snuggles and giving and getting love from her Foster family.  She will need a home willing to continue patiently sharing these with her as she came to us as a very timid Mama of 12.  She loves the colder weather, snow and being outside.  She is not super active as is the Pyrenees nature, but time outside especially in the cooler weather makes her very happy.  Once she fills out she will be about 85lbs.  She is in love with her Foster's 4 yr old daughter and will do well with kids that are gentle and understand that she needs them to quiet and respectful of her.  She will thrive in the right environment and be an awesome addition to the family. She is HW positive and has begun her treatment and is scheduled for spay in February.  Her treatments will be explained in depth to all potential adopters and is paid for by Homeward Bound as long as she is taken to our Vet in Dillsburg, PA.   If you have an approved application and are interested in more information or possibly adopting Delilah, please reach out to her Foster Mom at thatsme963@aol.com Applications can be completed on our website:  HtTPS://homewardbound2u.rescuegroups.org Homeward Bound Animal Rescue is licensed and inspected by the PA Dept of Dog Law. Story
My name is Theo! I'm a big dog with a big heart! I'm on the hunt for my furever home. I my be big, but I am super sweet and love people. I have lived with children before and have done well with them. I have also lived with other dogs and cats, though I can come on strong when meeting new dogs. Due to my breed type, I like to let you know all my thought and feelings - I bark, ALOT. I like to be with my people and get a bit anxious when left alone for too long. I know I am a lot of dog, but I think I would fit perfect in a new home. If you have space for a big handsome fellow like me then come down to the shelter and lets meet!---Our facility is open daily from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, meet and greet appointments are highly recommended. If you are interested in meeting an animal please contact us via email at Lancaster@pspca.org to learn more about our adoption process and to set a meet and greet appointment.

Story
KENNEL ID #01658&#226&#128&#139 Timmy is a cross between two livestock guardian breeds. Timmy and his sibling's owners decided a vacation was more important than caring for their 8 dogs. Timmy has not been socialized very much and takes a while to warm up to you.  He is already a fantastic watch dog. He absolutely loves being outside and keeping an eye on things. He came from a working farm so he needs an experienced owner that has prior experience with dogs that missed out on early socialization. He is affectionate to the staff that he knows, but it does take some effort on their part to win him over. This is pretty typical for guardian breeds. He loves when you tell him how handsome he is. He will do best in a home without small children who may not understand that he needs some space and time to feel comfortable.  Timmy deserves a chance at having a happy home. He just needs the right happy home. He is not an apartment or condo dog. He simply would not do well in a situation where there is a lot of commotion or new people. He would love hanging out with his besties and getting all of their attention all day. Thank you for your interest in rescue. If you would like to be considered for adoption please submit an application to adopt. APPLICATION TO ADOPT: http://www.jotform.us/ddpets/adoptddpets     If you have any questions regarding the adoption process please email store@ddpets.com or call 610-970-7500.
