Story
Meet Piper Piper is a sweet little ray of sunshine, here to warm up even the coldest days. This Pyrenees/Lab mix is truly the best of both worlds—and what a combination it is! She’s been lovingly cared for and it shows in her gentle, affectionate nature. While we expect Piper to grow into a big girl, right now she’s all cuddles, charm, and puppy sparkle. Of course, she’s still a puppy, so her résumé includes the usual shenanigans: jumping, chewing, and a bit of mischievous fun—always paired with an irresistible smile. Piper has lived happily in a home with both cats and dogs and does great with everyone she meets. She’s adaptable, loving, and ready to thrive just about anywhere. If you’re looking for a sweet, cuddly companion with a sunny personality and a playful streak, Piper might just be your perfect match. ##2644335##

Coco is a seven year old Great Pyrenees Guardian dog. He keeps coyotes and other wild animals off our ten acres. Coco loves attention but is not keen of other male dogs. We are giving up farm life and moving to an adult community. Coco would not be happy in that lifestyle. He needs to stay where he can protect your property.

Story
Winnie has blossomed into a glamour-Pyr!  She is growing a luxurious coat of long, super soft, wavy hair that, together with her tendency to point, might indicate a hint of retriever in her background.  It is difficult to stop petting her!  Her soft dewy eyes and ginger eyelashes try to bend you to her will.  As she is just 2 years old and 80 pounds, she is still very playful and she likes the company and collection of stuffed toys to surround her. Watch out squirrels--here comes Winnie!  She is a fearless squirrel chasing machine, who can run like a thoroughbred and leap like a deer.  She is joy to watch.  Winnie enjoys having doggie companions to play with, but she also has her serious guardian side to keep you informed, especially if she is outside at night.  Her bark is a subdued “woo-woo.”  Inside, she is a cuddle bug, who would surely be a lap dog if she was smaller.  She appears to appreciate stomach rubs more than any dog in the world.  Winnie could be your shadow in the house.  She totally knows her name and usually comes at a run!  Winnie is gentle on the leash.  She is friendly to dogs, people, and leaves cats alone.  Winnie would likely thrive in a rural setting or large yard with a higher fence, where hotwire would help ensure she didn’t take her squirrel hunting abroad.  If you are interested in this special girl, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.  She is ready to go!    ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
Maja is a nine-month-old Great Pyrenees girl with long legs, a tender heart, and the kind of calm beauty that makes you slow down just by being near her. Currently about 70 pounds and still underweight, she’s growing into the majestic dog she was always meant to be, with an expected adult size around 90 pounds. Her name, Maja, is Swedish for “beautiful girl,” and it fits her perfectly—inside and out. Her early life wasn’t what it should have been. She came from a farming family who could no longer care for her and chose to let her wander rather than protect her. When she was found and the owners declined to take her back, Maja found herself in a shelter, quietly waiting. Critter Cavalry Rescue saw her gentle spirit and stepped in, placing her with a foster family experienced with Great Pyrenees who immediately recognized what a rare and lovely soul she is. Maja is everything people adore about her breed—easygoing, calm, and deeply gentle. She moves through life with a soft presence, never destructive, never demanding, just quietly grateful to be included. Having never lived indoors before January 22, everything is new to her, and she’s taking it all in with grace. House training is a work in progress, but she’s learning at her own steady pace, and her foster family is helping her understand what life inside a home feels like. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and is currently living peacefully with a cat, enjoying the comfort of companionship. Maja loves belly rubs and couch cuddles, and she’s already figured out that being close to her people is one of life’s greatest joys. She enjoys the outdoors, as Great Pyrenees do, but happily comes inside when invited, content to settle in and relax. Toys are a brand-new concept for her, and watching her discover play has been nothing short of heart-melting. She has started offering gentle play bows and exploring what it means to have fun with her humans. True to her breed, she has a touch of independence and occasional selective listening, but it’s wrapped in kindness and calm, never chaos. Maja is tall, elegant, and exceptionally kind in her interactions with people, children, and other animals. She carries no emotional scars from her past—just an open heart and a quiet readiness to belong. She will be a treasure to the family who welcomes her, an easy dog to love, and a loyal companion who brings peace into a home simply by being herself. Maja is ready for her forever family and a life filled with safety, patience, and affection. She has so much love to give, and she’s waiting for someone who sees not just her beauty, but the gentle soul behind it. If you are interested in this beauty, please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   please let us know what city and state you live in as we adopt to Tennessee residents where we are based and also to the Northeast states where we transport weekly. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.January 31, 2026, 11:32 pm

Story
Jack Junior has a heart full of Joy and ready for his special person to raise him right. Here is his story and plea: Hi there! My name is Junior, but once you meet me, you’ll understand why my friends call me 'Jumping' Jack Junior. I greet life with enthusiasm, joy, and a whole lot of bounce. I’m an 18-month-old Great Pyrenees mix boy with a gorgeous fluffy coat, an irresistibly curly tail, and a happy spirit that just wants to belong. I currently weigh around 60 pounds and expect to top out around 65–70 pounds once I’m fully grown. While I may look like a big teddy bear, I’m still a young dog learning how the world works—and I’ve had to learn it the hard way. My senior owner lost her home, and suddenly I found myself in a shelter in Texas along with other animals. That kind of loss and change was confusing and unsettling, and I bounced between foster homes trying to figure out what was expected of me. The good news? I’m now thriving. I’m living full-time with a professional trainer who welcomed me into her home and gave me what I had been missing all along: structure, consistency, and clear leadership. With calm boundaries and daily guidance, I’ve learned how to respond appropriately to the world around me. I’ve made huge strides, and my trainer says I’m ready to move forward with the right person or family. I do best with confident, experienced dog owners who understand the importance of leadership and routine. I need a securely fenced yard, regular exercise, and continued structure. I would do best as the only dog in the home and in a family with older children who can respect my space and training. With the right setup, I will form a deep, loyal bond and become a truly special companion. My trainer loves me deeply and is committed to my success—she will happily be a resource and support system for my future family whenever needed. If you’re an active, dog-savvy person looking for a joyful, intelligent companion who is ready to blossom in the right hands, I might be your boy. Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com to ask questions and request an application. Story
Meet Beryl aka Miss Bea (if you please!) aka Your Future Couch Potato & Loyal Sidekick! Miss Bea returned to us after one of our beloved Coordinators passed away unexpectedly. Miss Bea is about 8 years old, a Great Pyrenees mix (aka Fluff Queen), and about 65 lbs. of pure snuggle potential. Beryl is a sweet, senior lady who’s a bit shy at first - kind of like that one friend who takes a while to warm up but then becomes your ride-or-die. She’s excellent with cats, other dogs, older kids (12+), and she loves the outdoors… just not in a “let’s run a marathon” way. Miss Bea requires a fenced yard (she’s too dignified for leash zoomies), a person who works from home, is retired, or has a flexible schedule (she’s a low-maintenance roommate). Beryl’s Dream Home is quiet, calm, and full of love (she’s not a party animal), a human who doesn’t mind the “awkward phase” where she’s scared of men but quickly becomes a cuddle champion once she knows you, someone who needs a chill companion with a side of sass and pawing for attention. (Don’t worry, she won’t drag you down the street. Beryl’s all about relaxed walks.) She also needs someone who has the time to spoil her with attention and understands that trust takes time. She’s got a lot of love to give, but she’s not into the "speed dating" vibe - she prefers a slow, sweet burn to a lifelong friendship. If you are home more often than not and want a dog who’s more “chill vibes” than “chaos,” Beryl might just be your spirit animal. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please apply online, at https://bigfluffydogs.com/adopt/adoption-application/ then email Debbie@BigFluffyDogs.com. Our main website, www.bigfluffydogs.com has more information about us and the rescue process. NOTE TO EMAILERS FROM PETFINDER: WE DO NOT RESPOND TO EMAIL INQUIRIES WITHOUT AN APPLICATION. WE REGRET WE CANNOT RESPOND TO EVERY EMAIL, BUT UNLESS YOU FILL OUT AN APPLICATION, WE DO NOT KNOW YOU EXIST. All known information about an individual dog is provided in its listing. We do our best to provide accurate information, but adopters should understand that each home is different and the dog may behave differently in a new home. Dogs are creatures of their environment and you help make the dog what it will be. Homes considering adopting a puppy must be prepared for 1.) Flexible schedules for potty training. Puppies can only hold it for one hour per month of age (i.e. a 4-month-old puppy can only go 4 hours without a potty break). 2.) Crate training until the puppy is at least one year old to prevent chewing on inappropriate things when you can't supervise. 3.) Socialization. The more positive and varying experiences as a puppy the better, both in and out of your home. 4.) Puppy behavior and life stages are equivalent to a human toddler. It takes at least a full year to have a calmer, well-adjusted dog. Patience is required and when your dog's behavior is a positive experience for you and those around you, your patience will be rewarded ten-fold, for years to come. Please do not consider adopting a puppy if you have not thoroughly thought through the pros and cons of having one. So many people end up returning them after 3-5 months because they didn't realize the amount of work involved in raising a puppy. Patience, appropriate toys, socialization, and obedience training are all musts. All are time-consuming and can be expensive. All dogs require supervision with children and obedience training. Adopters that want to have good dogs must be prepared to put the time and effort into training a dog. Any dog requires work and effort, but a well trained, well-socialized dog is more than worth the effort to get them there.
