Story
HI - I'M APPLE JAX! (Ajax for short)! I'm a happy and fun male Greyhound-Pittie mix, possibly with some shepherd mixed in, in need of a foster or forever home. I'm such a happy, quirky dog! I would be a great companion for an active person who wants a mix of a couch potato and active canine pal. I'm a funny dude with a handsome face and long legs. I love to run and play, and I love my toys, too. I would be great in a home that can provide me some love and attention. Despite my 3-year-old age, I still feel like a puppy! I do fine with some dogs but not others, so would probably do best as the only dog in the home if you can have me! I will love you forever! I've been waiting awhile and keep getting overlooked, probably because I'm an unusual combination of dog breeds. I'm super cute, though! Can you foster or adopt me? I weight only 57 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
Nikki IS AVAILALBE (updated 04-29-2024).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Nikki, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22515&name=NikkiNikki is a mixed breed dog, approximately 20 months old, that came to Coastal GSR from the Coachella Shelter after being found in a field with her siblings. The shelter called them &#39Shepherd mixes&#39 but if you look at Nikki, you might see more Greyhound or Whippet in her than Shepherd. Nikki is long, tall, and very muscular. Nikki will not grow any taller but she may fill out some more. She has giant ears that we thought would stand up but mostly they just flop. She has a voracious appetite and is very food motivated, which helps with training. She is fun, fearless, and fast. She is very alert and an adventurer but she can also be sweet and affectionate. Nikki goes hard, runs fast, and crashes hard too. Nikki is sharp - she learns new tricks and commands easily and she is adaptable.Nikki is housetrained and also crate trained. A real plus to help Nikki settle into your life would be to have a large yard for her to sprint around in and explore. If you are looking for a young dog to be your companion in the wilderness, on hiking trails, or just play in your yard with you - come meet Nikki! The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.April 29, 2024, 6:19 am
