Story
Scottish Rose, L VNRHVHi, I’m Ginger Rose! I am a curious girl who loves to figure out all the new things I am experiencing! My favorites so far are peering out the window for bunnies and squirrels, meeting new people to demand pets, and checking the counter or trash for things I can snag. Such fun! I also love to spend time in my crate, especially after I have exhausted myself with my preferred activities. I do not enjoy spending time in my crate if I know there are people off doing interesting things that I can not participate in. I enjoy my daily walks, and use that time to check for bunnies and squirrels at close range, but unfortunately I cannot chase them as I am anchored to a person. Annoying. Do you think I’d be a great addition to your home? To see other hounds currently in our care please visit the Hounds in Our Care page on our website. Story
unnamed, L VNNNHHi, I’m Benny! I have been told I am a bit awkward and clumsy, but also that I am very sweet and playful. I sometimes like to chew on things–toys, books, headphones, basically whatever I can fit into my maw–so keep anything you might value out of range! I have a high prey drive when I am outside (ask me about that one bunny!), and sometimes I have COMPLICATED feelings about small fluffy dogs, but I am a friendly guy and generally really really like meeting people and kids and other dogs. Apparently I am not so good at walking on leash or doing my business on leash, but that’s ok because we will have years and years together to learn a better exercise and elimination routine. On the plus side, I can do outside stairs (not inside stairs tho), and I am a pretty big fan of my crate! Do you think I’d be a great addition to your home? KW Bonnie Parker, R 59B, L 73620Hi, I’m Bonnie Parker! Don’t let the fact that I’m named for a notorious criminal fool you, I’m really a nice, gentle girl! I love squeaky toys, walks, being outside, being with people, and ear scratches. In fact I love ear scratches so much that I will do a little moany purr when you hit that perfect spot! I am very friendly and happily accept love and pets from everyone I meet, especially if they know the magic ear scratch trick! I am currently living with another greyhound and a cat, and I like both of them just fine. I am curious about the neighbor dog, but we have not been formally introduced; I have also not really interacted with any dogs smaller than myself. I do have VERY STRONG OPINIONS about thunder: it is bad and I will bark at it! This is not always appreciated (rude) but I will stop after being reassured that everything is ok. Along those lines, it has been suggested that I might need some basic obedience training (rude, again), but I think I am perfect as I am. Do you think I would be a great addition to your home? Story
unnamed, L VMHLNHi, I’m Nelly! My favorite hobby is to steal toys and hide them in my crate to play with later! I also love taking naps and going on walks. When you go on walks, you can meet people and dogs, both of which I also love! While I like going on walks, apparently I am “bad” at it? But honestly darting at squirrels and bunnies is part of what makes walks so much fun! Shiny floors, however, are not fun at all, and I would rather not walk on them at all, never, nope, not gonna do it. I am sweet, and cuddly as long as you respect my space, as I have sleep startle. I will go in my crate, but I do cry a little bit before I settle down. Best thing about me is my ADORABLE overbite. Do you think I’d be a great addition to your home? Custard Art, L NLDPHHi, I’m Mills! I want to be your very best buddy and follow you everywhere and see what you’re doing always! I also love getting pets and collecting items from around the house and bringing them to my bed. Not to chew, but just to have. For my collection. I enjoy bounding up and down the stairs, and cornering at speed; yoga mats help me from doing too many embarrassing scrambles. It is my DREAM to lounge on the sofa all day, but sadly I am not currently allowed (unless I do a sneaky sneak). When we go out for walks, I prefer to be walked solo, with any other dogs walked by other people. Sometimes, if there is too much going on around me, it can be a little disconcerting, and I might freeze for a little bit. Walks are hard. I enjoy living with a buddy, we get to hang out being cool dudes. Do you think I’d be a great addition to your home? Loyal Lolita, R 103E, L 75842Hi, I’m Lolita! I am a spicy jellybean who has definite opinions about All The Things, but I will thrive with someone who is willing to help me live my best jellybean life. I am learning to be a good girl in my kennel, but do tend to vocalize my feelings–I would rather not be in there, but I have been told it’s an important life skill to learn. I also have some space issues that I apparently “need to work on,” something about respecting boundaries? I love to cuddle, but sometimes it’s just too many feelings to feel all at once! I am getting better about walking on the leash and doing my business on the leash, but there are so many things that I need to stop and stare at, like bunnies and squirrels and leaves blowing around! I am a sweet and funny girl, I just need a patient and loving home with people who are willing to work with me. Do you think I’d be a great addition to your home?
