Story
Meet Wooyeon, * Medical History: Previously treated for Babesia and heartworm. Treatment completed. *Rescue Story Wooyeon was found wandering the streets by two sisters, who brought her to a veterinary clinic. At the hospital, she was diagnosed with Babesia and heartworm. Unfortunately, due to the high cost of treatment, the original sisters left her at the hospital and could not continue her care. She was later transferred to a nearby private shelter, where she received full treatment and recovery support. Since then, she has been living at the shelter and is now healthy and ready to find her forever home. - Compatibility With Cats: She has briefly encountered cats at the veterinary hospital and showed no strong reaction. She was not particularly interested. With Other Dogs: She gets along very well with all other dogs and can be adopted into a multi-dog household. With Adults and Children: Very friendly and affectionate with both adults and children. Personality & Behavior Leash Manners: Very good on walks. Food Allergies / Diet: No known food allergies. She has mild tear staining, so allergies are suspected but have not been tested. She is not a picky eater. House Training: Prefers outdoor elimination. Separation Anxiety: None observed. Barking: No excessive barking. She may bark when excited or greeting people. Likes & Dislikes: She deeply loves people and craves human affection. Three Words to Describe Her Affectionate. Energetic. Cheerful. ---------- 💙 Adoption Fee Information The adoption fee already includes all major expenses, such as: International transportation, Customs and export documentation, Medical care (spay surgery, vaccinations, health certificate, deworming, etc.) For this reason, we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting a breakdown or negotiation of the adoption fee. Your support directly helps us continue rescuing and caring for dogs in need, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding.

Shih Tzu Havanese

Story
Independent Ella is the kind of dog who makes the world feel a little warmer the moment she walks into the room. With a constantly wagging tail and bright, curious eyes, she greets everyone like an old friend whether it’s a stranger on the street, a giggling child, or another animal crossing her path. This 3 year old, 20 pound Shih Tzu mix girl was found as a matted stray and her rescuers never found the person who owned her.  She ended up in a boarding facility for a few weeks as they searched and she received a much needed glamour grooming that you see the results here in her pictures.  Ella is very self-assured and spunky and spry.  She bounces around like a butterfly flitting from flower to flower.  She is good with other dogs but will let them know that she is the Queen Bee.  It would be best for her to be in a home as the one and only girl and she could certainly live with another male dog or two.  Girl on girl in a home she might be a challenge as she makes her Queen Bee position known.  On the flip side of that we know Ella to be very affectionate and eager to spend time with her humans. She is mostly housebroken but would be best for her to be crated overnight.  This social butterfly never meets a stranger nor finds a situation one that she cannot handle. She is not shy and basically lives in her own 'no fear zone'. If you are looking for a lifetime companion who is up for any and every adventure that you bring her way, then Ella is 'in' for the ride. Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  She is ready to go!!!    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 18, 2026, 12:11 pm

Story
Meet Millie! Same old story different dogs… people buy a cute fluffy non-shedding puppy, never get them groomed or socialized, and surrender them to the pound when they are a matted inconvenience 🤷‍♀️ 🤦‍♀️ Millie is under a year old and a nervous girl but opens up into a happy playful puppy once she feels safe. She seems to be some kind of schnoodle or maybe havapoo? (Well, we groom everything to look like a schnauzer, but that definitely looks like a schnauzer nose to us!) About 16lbs full grown and is now spayed and updated on shots. Shaving her was a dramatic occurrence and she will need sleepy time meds and getting her more used to being brushed and handled now that she’s more comfortable and not clumped in mats head to toe. She’s ok with other dogs but also gets nervous with them in her space too much and prefers to dine alone… a bit socially awkward and still learning how to play and be a normal puppy. Millie is looking for an adult home that will continue to socialize her in a positive way to new people, places, and things and be committed to her for life, for better or worse. Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Millie in Northern NJ Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.

Story
DOB 12-12-2024 This sweet tiny little Poodle mix did not have a good start so she is looking for a loving Mom that needs her too! Georgie is social but shy, very sweet and loves to play with other little dogs like herself. Georgie has been spayed, she is Heartworm negative and received a ProHeart6 preventative injection. She is up to date on shots and dental work and weighs about 6 pounds. Her adoption fee is 850..00 and her transport fee is 165.00. Our transport is HEARTS LLC. they are a wonderful transport delivering pets to the East Coast every other weekend The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. After you submit your application please allow a few days to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We do look for the best home that fits each of our pets, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved we with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the pet you are interested in.Together we can decide if this is the best choice for both.

These pups are in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania too!
