Breed: Havanese Age: 5 Weight: 13 Lbs Good With Dogs: yes Good With Cats: Unknown Good With Kids: unknown Energy Level: medium Potty-Training: In process Special Needs: puppy mill rescue Requirements: > Secure fenced yard > Another small dog in the home > Experienced adopter Meet Abby! Abby was rescued from a puppy mill back in January. We were told she is a Havanese and is approximately 5 years old. This cute girl has been in foster care for almost 2 months now and has really made some great progress! Abby quickly became very attached to her primary foster parent and follows her everywhere. She can be a bit shy but as soon as you sit on the couch or bed she jumps right up and snuggles in. When anyone but her foster mom is walking around she stays right out of the way and watches the goings on from the doorway. We think she may just be a little frightened of people when they’re standing and nervous of strangers in general. She absolutely loves toys! She throws the ball to herself and chases it around the room. She’s still too nervous to play with a person but we’re convinced she’ll continue to gain confidence and will be a super fun and playful companion! She loves sitting outside on a warm day, soaking up some rays. She is not great at leash walking just yet so she’ll need a home with a fenced (at least 4 ft high because she’s very athletic) yard. Another requirement we have for our puppy mill rescues is another dog in the home for her to continue to learn from and lean on for comfort. An active dog would be preferable because she loves to play with other small dogs. If you’re looking to bring home a new family member—especially a little lovebug with some healthy attachment issues—apply for Abby! This dog is currently being fostered near Rochester, NY and cannot travel prior to adoption. Meet and greets available in the surrounding area only. Visitors welcome. PLEASE NOTE: Unless otherwise written, all of our puppy mill survivors will require a secure fenced yard, another small dog in the home, and an experienced owner. Dogs rescued from puppy mills will have started to learn but cannot be expected to be fully potty trained at time of adoption. PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW! We currently adopt in the states of PA*, NJ, NY**, DE, and some areas of MD. We can not accept applications from other states at this time. *Eastern half **Excluding NYC, Bronx, Long Island If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our adoption application which you can find on our website at www.dutchcountryanimalrescue.org/adopt.html We will reply within one week if your application meets the criteria for this dog. Our adoption fees are on our application. All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on rabies and DHPP, heartworm tested, treated for worms and fleas and most are microchipped. We are not a shelter, we are 100% volunteer public charity. All of our dogs are in foster homes until they are adopted. Since we are not a shelter, we do not receive government funding. We are a public charity that relies solely on funds through our adoption fee, fundraisers, and private donations. Since we are 100% volunteer based, all funds collected go directly towards the rescue and vet costs of our dogs. We take each rescue personally and spend a lot of effort trying to match the right dog to the right family. Thank you for considering one of our rescued dogs.

Story
Everyone meet Milly. Milly is a 6yr old (Ish) Havanese weighing in right around 12lbs!!! Milly is still super shy and will require a very patient and understanding home. Hi friends, it’s me Milly. I’d like to start by telling you I’m still pretty fearful of the world, but my medicine is helping, and I have made a lot of progress in my new foster home because it is very calm. My life before rescue wasn’t great, I still hold a lot of traumas. My foster family is helping me learn that I am safe, but I am still nervous. I do like to be around them and will follow my foster mom around the house. I will need a family that is quiet, patent and understanding and willing to give me the time that I need to learn to trust. Another furry sibling who is also calm and chill would be amazing. I currently live with a very chill Golden Retriever. I will require another furry sibling in my new home. This will help me learn how to adjust to my new life better. I love all my foster siblings, both canine and feline. I would do best in a home without small children or older kids who understand my boundaries. I’m doing very well with potty training but please remember, regression is normal. I’m ok with a crate but don’t love it. I do stay in a crate when my foster mom is at work though. I recently learned how to walk on a leash and have discovered that I love going for walks!! My favorites are laying on my dog bed, going for walks & laying on the sofa with my people! Milly hasn't been on many car rides but does seem to do well. while she may not be a lap dog or the type to be picked up, she has plenty of love to give in her own special way. She does love to lay on the sofa next to you though. She is also UTD on all vaccines and preventatives and she has been spayed and had a full dental. Milly is being fostered in Strasburg, PA. If you have a calm & quiet home with another calm dog that Miss Milly needs to be her best self, please apply for her at www.zoeshouserescue.com Kennel License 9117 Reading PA 19608

Story
Hi Lisa, This pretty is an almost 6 year old Havanese. She came to us from a puppy mill when they no longer wanted her for breeding. Knowing Lisa's past, it is understandable that she is nervous and on the defense. She is not used to a kind word or gentle pets. While our volunteers are working with her, she is looking for a patient and understanding home that will help her during this transition time. She would like a family that will give her all the time and distance needed as she learns how to dog - she will not be a cuddly lap dog right away. The family will need to move at Lisa's comfort level and schedule. She would need to meet any resident dogs. At this time, she would like an adult only home. She will come with vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and 4dx tested. If you are serious about adoption, please fill out an adoption application on our website www.phoenixanimalrescue.com Her adoption fee is $475. Story
Hello, my name is: Wyatt DOB: 10/29/2024Weight: 9.8 lbsSex/Breed: Neutered male Havanese Rescued From: Breeding kennelWyatt and his brothers came to All 4 Paws from a breeding kennel when they did not sell as young puppies. They spent much too long living in a kennel, now grateful for the comfort of a home environment. Though a little timid at first, these boys quickly warm up once they realize they are safe. They are silly and sweet, winning over everyone that meets them. They are in foster care with other pets and love the company of their furry pals. Training is still a work in progress, so potential families will need to be willing to be patient and consistent. Having a yard for frequent potty breaks would be ideal in a family with older kids who can understand to respect their space. We expect to have a lot of wonderful families hoping to bring one of these pups home! They are going to make wonderful additions to their forever families!!All our dogs are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.Interested in adopting? Story
Meet Puddin’ – The Sweetest Soul You’ll Ever Love Sometimes life turns upside down… but for one special little dog, we’re determined to help her land right where she belongs—in the heart of a kind, loving home. Puddin’ is a precious Bichon/Poodle mix, 2–3 years old, with a beautiful coat and the kind of eyes that tell a story. At just 23 pounds, she’s the perfect size for snuggles, quiet companionship, and warm laps. Recently, her world was turned upside down when she lost the only home she knew due to unfortunate circumstances beyond her control. She didn’t ask for her life to change—but she’s trusting us to help her find something better… and we know it’s out there. Puddin’ is already spayed, freshly groomed, and fully up to date on all her vetting—the first real care she’s ever received. Despite her past, she is gentle, friendly, and gets along beautifully with other dogs. New people can make her a little shy at first, but give her just a little patience, and you’ll see her blossom into a trusting, loving companion who will melt into your heart. This sweet girl has had limited social experiences so far, but what she needs now is simple: a calm, stable, and understanding home where she can feel safe, be adored, and finally relax into the life she deserves. &#226&#156&#168 Why Puddin’ is the perfect addition to your life: Friendly with dogs and warms up sweetly to people ‍&#226&#153&#128&#239&#184&#143 Ideal for a calm, quiet home with gentle routines A shy girl who will reward your love with deep devotion Fully vetted, spayed, groomed, and healthy A beautiful soul, inside and out Puddin’ will sweeten your life—and you’ll be her whole world. All she needs is someone to believe in her, care for her, and give her the kind of home she’s always deserved.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to learn more about adopting Puddin’.
