Story
Drum roll please 🥁🥁🥁 The moment we’ve all been waiting for — Wynter is ready to find her forever family! You may recall Wynter’s journey with Zoe’s House earlier this year. Wynter is a four year-old petite (8 ish lbs) havapoo (havanese & toy poodle!) who was selflessly surrendered to ACCT Philly when her owner could no longer afford to continue to try to find out what was wrong with Wynter. She was generally lethargic and experiencing lameness. Zoe’s House stepped up to the plate and after seeing at least 6 different doctors and undergoing numerous tests and hospitalization, a diagnosis of an auto-immune disorder was made at Ryan Veterinary Hospital (Penn Vet). After undergoing a tapering dose of steroids, Wynter is finally starting to feel like herself! She runs and plays with her foster fur siblings but mostly she enjoys riding shotgun with foster mom. She is a true companion who thrives off the connection 💗 Her forever family will need to continue to taper her steroid dose with the hope that she may be able to discontinue them for good. Wynter is crate trained though she prefers not to be. At night, she loves sleeping in bed with her family. She is a snuggler. She loves to be showered with love and attention. She walks well on a leash and is a wonderful travel companion. Wynter has been spayed while in rescue care. She is up to date on vaccines and has been microchipped. She is being fostered in Collegeville, Montgomery County, and applicants should be prepared to travel to her foster home for adoption. A home visit and meet and greet is part of the application process. Wynter is a special girl who fought hard to survive. She’s thriving now and is looking for that magical place to call her forever home. If you are up to the task, apply at www.zoeshouserescue.com Zoe’s House Rescue Kennel # 9117 Sinking Spring, PA

Vader is a great dog who needs someone who will give him affection and love. His original owner was my cousin who was battling breast cancer when she adopted him. Due to her illness Vader was being pad trained and not house broken. I brought him home with me when she could no longer care for him. I have tried to crate train and house train him I have not been successful. Hopefully I can find him a loving home with someone who has the time and patience to do so.

Story
Smore may be tiny — just 9 weeks old and 5 pounds — but this little Havanese/Bichon mix carries a spirit bigger than her diagnosis. Born with a congenital heart condition called subaortic stenosis (SAS), Smore’s life will likely be shorter than most. There’s no cure, but a daily medication helps her heart work more comfortably. But here’s the part that will take your breath away: Smore doesn’t know she’s sick or that her time may be limited. This energetic little girl runs with the other dogs in her foster home, chases toys twice her size, and proudly “helps” by untying shoelaces whenever she gets the chance. She’s goofy, bright, and full of that irresistible puppy sparkle. Smore isn’t looking for pity. She’s looking for someone who will love her the way she loves the world — fully, joyfully, and without hesitation. Her perfect family will be one who understands her medical needs and is willing to give her the gift of a life lived to the fullest, however long that may be. A family who believes that even a short life can be a beautiful one. A family who wants to fill her days with comfort, laughter, and the kind of love every dog deserves. If you have room in your heart for a girl whose sweetness outshines her challenges, Smore will give you every ounce of love she has. She may not have forever — but she has today, and she’s ready to spend it with someone who sees how special she truly is. Pa Kennel License # 07735

Story
Meet Millie! Same old story different dogs… people buy a cute fluffy non-shedding puppy, never get them groomed or socialized, and surrender them to the pound when they are a matted inconvenience 🤷‍♀️ 🤦‍♀️ Millie is under a year old and a nervous girl but opens up into a happy playful puppy once she feels safe. She seems to be some kind of schnoodle or maybe havapoo? (Well, we groom everything to look like a schnauzer, but that definitely looks like a schnauzer nose to us!) About 16lbs full grown and is now spayed and updated on shots. Shaving her was a dramatic occurrence and she will need sleepy time meds and getting her more used to being brushed and handled now that she’s more comfortable and not clumped in mats head to toe. She’s ok with other dogs but also gets nervous with them in her space too much and prefers to dine alone… a bit socially awkward and still learning how to play and be a normal puppy. Millie is looking for an adult home that will continue to socialize her in a positive way to new people, places, and things and be committed to her for life, for better or worse. Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Millie in Northern NJ Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.

Story
DOB 12-12-2024 This sweet tiny little Poodle mix did not have a good start so she is looking for a loving Mom that needs her too! Georgie is social but shy, very sweet and loves to play with other little dogs like herself. Georgie has been spayed, she is Heartworm negative and received a ProHeart6 preventative injection. She is up to date on shots and dental work and weighs about 6 pounds. Her adoption fee is 850..00 and her transport fee is 165.00. Our transport is HEARTS LLC. they are a wonderful transport delivering pets to the East Coast every other weekend The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. After you submit your application please allow a few days to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We do look for the best home that fits each of our pets, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved we with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the pet you are interested in.Together we can decide if this is the best choice for both.
