Treatment completed. *Rescue Story Wooyeon was found wandering the streets by two sisters, who brought her to a veterinary clinic. At the hospital, she was diagnosed with Babesia and heartworm. She was later transferred to a nearby private shelter, where she received full treatment and recovery support. Since then, she has been living at the shelter and is now healthy and ready to find her forever home. - Compatibility With Cats: She has briefly encountered cats at the veterinary hospital and showed no strong reaction. She was not particularly interested. With Other Dogs: She gets along very well with all other dogs and can be adopted into a multi-dog household. With Adults and Children: Very friendly and affectionate with both adults and children. Personality & Behavior Leash Manners: Very good on walks. Food Allergies / Diet: No known food allergies. HOKEY POKEY The little guy who turns himself around… because that’s what it’s all about Age: 5 years Weight: 18 lbsLocation: Passaic County, NJFully vetted • Neutered • MicrochippedAvailable in: NY, NJ, CT, PA, ME, VT, VA, DE, MD, RI, NHApply: houndsinpounds.org Meet the Wiggle MaestroHokey Pokey lives his entire life like he’s midroutine — full wiggles, full spins, full commitment. He puts his whole self in your lap.  He takes his whole self out of the dog bed.  He turns himself around when he’s excited. He shakes his whole butt when he sees snacks. He is, without question, a onedog dance floor. And when it comes to brushing his face? He’s more of a “soft pivot away” than a diva meltdown. A gentle, “mmm… maybe not that part of the choreography today” twirl. ‍ His Dance CardGood with dogsGood with catsLap lover extraordinaireFun, silly, and delightfully quirkyNot super active — more “slow sway” than “jump and clap”No kids under 12 (he prefers a calm, respectful audience) Why He’s a Star Hokey Pokey is the perfect blend of cozy, comedic, and charming. He wiggles with his whole heart, then curls up like a cinnamon roll on your lap. He’s affectionate, hilarious, and absolutely committed to his personal brand of interpretive dance. He’s a tiny man with big choreography. And honestly? That’s what it’s all about. ##2697403##

Vader is a great dog who needs someone who will give him affection and love. His original owner was my cousin who was battling breast cancer when she adopted him. Due to her illness Vader was being pad trained and not house broken. I brought him home with me when she could no longer care for him. I have tried to crate train and house train him I have not been successful. Hopefully I can find him a loving home with someone who has the time and patience to do so.

Story
Meet sweet Hazel — the definition of quiet strength. This beautiful 5-year-old Havanese with soft fawn patches and striking light green eyes came to rescue after spending her life in a puppy mill. When she could no longer be bred, she was finally given the chance at a new beginning. But for Hazel, learning how to simply be a dog is a journey that is only just beginning. Her story is written all over her. The quiet fear in her eyes and her gentle, cautious nature are both heartbreaking and inspiring. When Hazel first arrived, she was terrified of nearly everything. She would tremble anytime someone approached her, lowering her eyes as if trying to disappear. Yet despite the fear and uncertainty she carried, she never showed aggression — only quiet resilience. Interestingly, Hazel seemed to trust children the most from the start. We can only imagine that perhaps the children at the farm were the only ones who ever showed her kindness. And slowly, little by little, Hazel has started to bloom. She has begun seeking out gentle affection from her humans and has discovered that ear scratches might actually be one of life’s greatest treasures. She’s starting to show playful moments and curiosity, and watching her learn that the world can be safe has been incredibly rewarding. Hazel absolutely LOVES other dogs and would thrive in a home with a confident canine companion to help continue building her confidence. She is also cat friendly, crate trained, doing wonderfully with potty training, and learning how to walk on a leash. Because of her past, Hazel would do best in a calm, patient home with older children who can understand and respect her need for time and space while she settles in. Once she trusts you, she will be the most loyal and loving companion imaginable. Hazel truly embodies quiet courage. After everything she has endured, she still wants so badly to love and be loved. Beneath her fearful exterior is an absolute diamond waiting to shine. Her future family is going to be so incredibly lucky to have her.   Visit our website to apply www.outcastrescue.com. Story
Apple is a 1-year-old Havanese weighing around 12 lbs who is still learning to feel safe in the world. She was rescued from a hoarding situation, and because of that, she’s taking her time figuring out how to navigate life with people. Apple is crate trained and is fine with other dogs and cats, but also likes her own space. With humans, she needs a slower approach. She can become defensive when she feels unsure, so it’s important that her adopter understands the value of patience, consistency, and giving her the space to build confidence at her own pace. She tends to bond more quickly with women and thrives in a calm, predictable environment. Apple would do best in a quiet home with someone who can meet her where she is and gently guide her forward. With time and understanding, she has all the potential to grow into a deeply loyal and loving companion. Approved adopters interested in Apple can email adopt@hbrdogs.com for more info. Story
Nate is a 1-year-old Havanese weighing around 17 pounds, and while he may look like the world’s cutest cuddle buddy, Nate would very much prefer that admiration come from a respectful distance — at least for now. Coming from a severe hoarding situation, humans are still a big question mark to him, and he copes by keeping space between himself and the people around him. Being touched is not something he’s comfortable with yet, and he needs an adopter who truly understands that trust for dogs like Nate is earned slowly, quietly, and entirely on his terms. What Nate lacks in human confidence, he more than makes up for in his love of other dogs. They are his safe place, his comfort, and his joy. Nate absolutely must go to a home with at least one other dog, and he would especially love a playful canine sibling to romp around with. He’s a happy, playful little guy with dogs, loves toys, and thrives when he has another pup to follow and learn from. He’s wonderfully respectful of other dogs’ boundaries and has a very gentle social style. Nate is looking for a patient, compassionate adopter who won’t expect instant affection and who can celebrate the small victories along the way — a curious glance, choosing to stay nearby, joining in play, relaxing a little more each day. Dogs like Nate require time, understanding, and zero pressure, but watching them slowly discover safety and confidence is incredibly rewarding. He may never be the kind of dog who wants to be carried around or snuggled on the couch, and that’s okay. Nate deserves a home that loves him exactly as he is. Approved adopters interested in Nate can email adopt@hbrdogs.com for more info. If you’re not approved yet, apply today at hbrdogs.com
