TITUS came into rescue from a hoarding case. He was somewhat under-socialized and had never been off of the owner's property. At 4 years old and around 65 pounds, this boy is like a blossoming flower! He is absorbing everything his dog trainer in the Paws Behind Bars Prison Training Program is teaching him and is morphing into a friendly, playful, wonderful companion dog! He is good with other dogs of all sizes and is house trained / potty trained and knows obedience commands such as "down, touch, sit, wait" and more! He would love a fenced in yard where he can run and play and an owner that knows the Husky breed would be helpful! He has not been destructive in our care like some in this breed can be. Titus is a beautiful boy and deserves a family that will give him attention and take him on walks / hikes. Yes he loves the snow and has had a good time this winter since there has been plenty of it! We got Julien when he was 8 weeks old. He turned 2 in December. He was the result of unintentional breeding between his German Shorthaired Pointer mother and a Husky wandering around the owner's property. When we first brought him home, he was doing well with potty training and leash training, but as he got bigger, he developed separation anxiety, which led to destructive chewing and refusing to use the potty outside. We tried crating him when we were gone, but he would pee outside of the crate. Our family does not have the time to dedicate to keeping him engaged. He is high energy and needs someone who can match his energy and give him the attention he needs and deserves. We got him neutered at age 1, thinking it would calm him down and it hasn't. He is reactive on a leash (typically distracted by birds and wants to chase). He gets along with other dogs, but can annoy older dogs due to his energy. He is a sweet dog and very loving. We have failed him due to our busy lives.

Meet McQueen! This handsome baby is a 6-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix weighing in at 63 pounds of pure gentleman energy. McQueen came to us as a stray, and sadly, when his microchip owners were contacted, they chose not to reclaim him. Now he’s getting his second chance through The Humane Society of Oldham County. ❤️ McQueen already has so much going for him: ✔️ Knows the sit command ✔️ Excellent passenger in the car ✔️ Amazing on a leash ✔️ House trained ✔️ Shows well with other dogs, especially medium to large pups. ✔️ Very quiet *most* of the time. Occasionally he'll banter with some Husky chat. He can get a little too excited around very small dogs (under about 25 pounds, mainly super energetic puppies), but it’s all enthusiasm, not aggression. McQueen just finished up his dental cleaning and his vetting. He's ready for those special people! We can’t wait for this sweet boy to find the forever family and stability he’s been waiting for. 🐾

We've had him since two weeks. We tried to train him without the leash and was doing amazing, but as he got older grew habits and wasn't behaving. Is a good puppy, but with time we didnt have patience or anything to go and train him properly. Ive have multiple dogs and were pure bred but he's different since he's a mutt and is a mixed breed. So he's not what were used to with the habitual things from a German shepherd or Siberian Huskies. He will let you know when he wants to use the bathroom, but he doesn't always use it. He tends to always wanna be outside but likes to be inside when its fitting to him. He's a bit vocal too but isnt aggressive. If you give him food and water, hell immediately finish it and you'll have to wait 10 minutes until he pesters you that he wants to go outside. He has bad habits like not beig trained without a leash, peeing/pooping in the house and eating wood, leaves, etc. anything he can chew on. Does know to Sit, lay down, paw, etc.
