Story
To adopt please fill out an adoption application. Kita is a 6yo female husky mix who is being surrendered by her owner in TN who can no longer keep her. Kita loves people, she’s very friendly and outgoing and behaves well in public too. Good house manners. Housebroken and crate trained.  She LOVES her crate. She puts herself in her crate at night to sleep and enjoys napping in her crate during the day whenever she feels like it.  Low-Moderate energy level; she sleeps most of the day, but every now and then she’ll get a burst of energy and zoom around the house/backyard. Low maintenance. She also enjoys chewing on her Nylabone and loves her walks. She certainly talks like a husky and sometimes has a lot to say! Also, when she is excited, she jumps very, very high. If there is thunder, she gets scared and lays as close to, if not on top of, you as possible. Obeys basic commands.  She’s never lived with a child, but she’s interacted with children and been rather indifferent. If they want to say hi, she’ll get a little excited, but if they don’t, she doesn’t seem to care.  Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 50 pounds. Kita is not good with cats or other dogs.  She’s an alpha dog and she’s aggressive with other dogs, cats and wildlife. Kita’s ideal adopter is someone who accepts that she must be the only dog in the home, will enjoy her need for affection, will give her daily time outside to roam/sunbathe, can take her on a few short walks every week, who is okay with her talkative, husky side, who is patient. Story
GIA was pulled from the local Animal Control in pretty rough condition. Gia is a 2-year-old Husky mix, girl who loves to be with people. Gia is a sweet and loving dog but, we think a man must have been mean to her at sometime in her short life. Gia would never bite but, she howls when first introduced to a man. We are working on this with her and she is getting better but, she may need a little extra time and patience in this area. Gia likes to chew on her toys, she has a sweet and calm disposition and she is house trained. Gia had a rough start in life, but she is looking forward to a bright and happy future with a forever family. Applications can be found on our website at, www.starbrightanimalrescue.org or please e-mail us at sbanimalrescue@yahoo.com for an application to adopt GIA. We try to respond to ALL inquiries so, please check your junk mailbox if, you're waiting to hear from us.

Story
Do not miss out on Missy! She is a sweet, tan and white Husky/Black Mouth Cur mix. Missy is 52 lbs. and 7 years old. She is a beloved family dog who must now find a new home.Missy does well with other dogs and is good with kids but can be too much for younger children so she would do best with children over 5 years of age. She feels that cats are not suitable to become of friend of hers so she would need a cat free home. She can hang with other dogs and enjoy the company. This girl might be older, but she can still keep up with the younger crowd. This clever girl walks nicely on a leash and is crate and house trained too. It is important to remember that although, Missy is house trained, potty accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. She would love to go on a walk with you and relax at your feet. Missy is a great dog with lots of love to give as she gets to know her new people. This beautiful girl is ready to find her new forever home. She is well beyond the puppy stage but still has playful energy. Like with any adoption, it will take time to adjust to new surroundings and people, but this sweet gal will do well in a home that offers her care and compassion. The adoption fee for Missy is $300. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours.
