Story
This good boy of all good boys is Bullet. He is about five years old, is neutered, and has the most darling happy-go-lucky puppy personality. He frolics around in piles of leaves and bounces back and forth like a little deer! He's precious. We are looking for a special adopter (or foster!) for Bullet because he is a special boy. Bullet has masticatory myositis which means his immune system attacks the muscles in his head and jaw. This also means that it can be painful to open his mouth and he could have pain in his cheeks. His adopter will need to be diligent in monitoring jaw pain and ensuring he has access to vet care as Bullet will need to be on lifelong medication. He may also need diagnostic testing to check bloodwork. The great news is that he was a complete gentleman for his vet intake exam and was so respectful, even when it may have been painful for him. The last thing is that Bullet may end up needing to be on a soft food diet, but that is something we have not learned about him yet. And now, a note from Bullet: "Okay, if you are still reading, then you must have noticed how wonderful I am. So, let me tell you a little bit more about myself! I really would love a home with a fenced-in yard. Since I am such a gentleman, I prefer to not potty while on-leash! Yes, it is a silly quirk, but I like to have freedom while I am doing my business. I mean, don't you? Car rides are the best. Walks are the bee's knees. Squeaky toys are fantastic. I've done alright with some kitty cats, but the humans are still watching my behavior around them. My most positive interest around other shelter dogs has been when the other dogs are calm and not too "in my face." If kiddos are gentle, I bet I'd be a great furbrother to them. So, they'd probably need to be about 8ish and up to understand that sometime my jaw may hurt, so gentleness is a big deal! As far as meeting people goes, I am an A+ student. I really hope that my special need only makes me more special in your eyes. Because, at the end of the day, I have no idea that I have this autoimmune disease and it sure doesn't stop me from being the best boy ever. Love, Bullet.

Aspen is a delight. She is friendly and smart. She loves stuffed toys and has a favorite alligator that she takes with her everywhere. She loves to go for walks but is also a fan of being on the couch. She is dog selective, so please arrange a meet and greet if you have dogs in your home. Please call us at 574-896-5060 if you would like to adopt or have any questions. Replies to email may be very slow.

Story
Flying Driftwood came to us from a breeder in Indiana where she was retired. This is a very timid and terrified girl who is fearful with people but great with other dogs. She would benefit from some basic obedience and confidence building and she is a flight risk. Her approx. birth date is 10/10/2018 and she currently weighs 45#. We are looking for an adult home. She has been vet. checked, spayed, micro chipped, is up to date on routine shots & wormings includung rabies, and has been treated with flea & heart worm preventative per our protocol and tested negative for heart worm. Her adoption donation is $100 and needs to be cash, certified check, money order or a debit/credit card. There is a 3% processing fee when using a debit/credit card. We do not ship or transport. Please email for an application if you would like to provide this nice kid with her forever home. ##870045##

Story
Trip is waiting for an owner who is willing to enjoy his energy and provide outlets to exercise both his mind and body. He is somewhat insecure so an owner that is confident would be ideal for this adolescent. Trip loves life, and everything around him. He simply just needs to learn some boundaries when it comes to personal space, and expressing his enthusiasm. Remember he is still a puppy. Trip has a tremendous amount of potential to be a wonderful member of someone's family. He is also quite handsome. Trip is a mix of husky/shepherd and will need a fence.DOB 1/15/23 46 PoundsI'm waiting for a home to call my own. email webmaster@petrefuge.com to learn more about me or fill out an application at https://www.petrefuge.com/adoptPet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes. Story
AVAAs a Royal Resident, my adoption fee has been covered by a grant from the Petfinder Foundation and KIA.I'm just a young girl with the most striking topaz eyes, and beautiful red coat. I prefer to be with women, because men can make me somewhat nervous. It may take me time to warm up to you, but once I do, I promise you will have a friend for life.I am currently working with a trainer to help build my confidence, and let my lovely personality shine. As for my heritage, well I'm part Husky, so I'll need a secure fenced yard and due to my shyness no children please.DOB 12/27/2020 46 poundsI'm waiting for a home to call my own. email webmaster@petrefuge.com to learn more about me or fill out an application at https://www.petrefuge.com/adoptPet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes.
