Story
Holly is a winter-wonderland-loving, snowball-catching, outdoorsy and adventure-seeking girl. If you're looking for a dog to accompany you on all of your experiences, you need Holly. Her energy level is awesome. Holly is happy to be chasing a squeaky toy or a tennis ball for as long as someone will throw it. And the weather sure doesn't deter this girl! The snowier it is, the happier she seems! And speaking of Holly being happy...when she is playing with a toy in the yard, sometimes she doesn't even need you to throw it for her! She will toss the toy up in the air and all over in the yard and chase it herself. She is hilarious! Holly is an independent but also interactive girl. What we mean is that she is totally capable of going exploring on her own but she is happy to be with people, too. The best of both worlds! We still need to observe her around dogs and cats and can let you when we do. Kiddos should be about 8ish and older for Holly to be most comfortable. She is about three years old and is spayed! Adopt Holly!

Story
This is Zeus! He is about four-and-a-half months old and is neutered. He is currently living in a foster home so to adopt Zeus, please email us at pets@michianapets.org to request an application. But first, here is a note from his foster mom: "Zeus is confident and playful. He gets along very well with both my young dog and senior dog. (Shelter sidenote: Zeus MUST be placed into a home with another dog.) As much as he loves other dogs, he also loves just being around people. He follows us around and lays at my feet. He’s a little shadow and does experience some separation anxiety. He sleeps in his kennel at night and is doing really well with potty-training and he will try to wake you up to go outside before he has an accident in his kennel. He loves puzzle toys and his Benebone chew toy. As most puppies can be, he can sometimes be a mouthy fellow so he likes plenty of toys to keep him busy. I was intimidated at first because I’ve never had a husky mix before and wasn’t sure what to expect, but he definitely changed my mind! Zeus is a social sweetheart and is eager to learn! He’s not spastic, but he has a lot of energy so having another energetic dog in the home and a yard for him to run and play in would be beneficial. He likes walks but needs more stimulation throughout the day. I can’t say for sure, but I strongly feel like he’d love an obstacle course, lol." -Zeus's foster mom. We think he may do okay with cats given a proper introduction! He is very smart, charming and polite. Zeus knows how to sit and take treats gently. He is such a prince!

Story
Lizzie is a beautiful Siberian Husky that needs a new home. I acquired her as a puppy through Petland in hopes of having her as my new companion. Unfortunately, I have a very busy schedule that I'm unable to dedicate a lot of time to train her. She knows the basic commands of sit and lay down. She loves to run and be energetic. She needs a home that has a fenced yard, or she will bolt and make it hard to catch her. Otherwise, she is a sweetheart that loves to play. She gets along with other playful dogs in the same caliber. If you have more lazy breeds, then she may not be the best choice. She is a year old and still has a good amount of puppy instincts, not that its a bad thing. She is crate trained, but she can't be left alone for a long time due to her wanting to be social. If you see her as an option, please feel free to reach out. I want her to go to a home where she can be happy and be free to burn her energy.

Story
🐾 Meet Milo! 🐾 This sweet, playful guy is looking for his forever home! At about 65 lbs, he’s the perfect blend of fun, affection, and adventure. ✨ What he’s like: • Playful and full of personality • Loves people and warms up quickly • Enjoys walks and exploring • Crate trained and well-mannered 🐶 Dog Compatibility: He does great with submissive or smaller dogs and enjoys calm canine friends. He’s not a match for dominant dogs, so a home with the right dog companion—or being the only dog—would be ideal. If you’re looking for a loyal buddy who’s ready for new adventures, this boy would love to meet you! 💙🐶 Message me for more info!

Story
Meet Domino! Domino is a 2-year-old Husky mix with a vibrant, energetic personality that shines the moment you meet him. He can get a little overexcited during introductions, but once he has a minute to settle, he shows off his calmer, more focused side. On field trips outside the shelter, Domino has been noticeably more relaxed — a good sign that the busy shelter environment is what amps him up. With structure and routine in a home, he’ll really thrive. This smart boy is highly treat motivated, listens well, and is eager to learn. Teaching him new tricks or activities should be a breeze for anyone ready to keep his mind engaged! Domino is also toy obsessed, so for everyone’s safety and comfort, we recommend a home with children 12 and older. Domino has done well with other dogs and may enjoy having a canine companion, as long as it’s a good match. If you’re looking for a fun, intelligent, enthusiastic adventure buddy, Domino might just be your perfect match!

Story
Meet Astro! Astro is a 1-year-old Husky mix with a playful spirit and a whole lot of personality. This quirky boy is always ready for fun — whether he’s tossing his toys around, zooming in the yard, or trying to convince you it’s always playtime. Astro gets along well with other dogs and could happily go home with a canine sibling, as long as it’s a good match for his energy and style of play. He would thrive with an active, upbeat family who can keep up with his enthusiasm and give him plenty of opportunities to exercise both his body and mind. If you`re looking for a lively, joyful companion who’s sure to keep you smiling, Astro might be the perfect fit!
