Story
At seven months old, adoptable Millie is amazingly well-behaved and is so smart! She knows how to sit, stay, come, shake, spin, leave it, and lay down. Millie's foster mom says that she picks up on new behaviors so quickly and can really learn anything anyone is willing to teach her. Not only is Millie a straight A student, but she has done totally awesome with all of her furry foster-siblings...dogs, cats, and bunnies! Millie would love to meet you a time or two before you get to the move-in-together stage. She takes time to trust new people, especially men, but once she trusts someone, she fully trusts them; please give her time to get to know you. Because Millie can be fearful, we would love to find an adopter for her who has experience with helping pups like her become more confident. She's done great with being house-trained in her foster home. She's just a gem of a puppy. She's spayed, so call us at 219-872-4499 to adopt Millie! She is currently in a foster home.

Story
Husky experience & 6' fence required. No cats/small animals. Kids 12+. Luna is a 7yo husky. She came from IL where she kept escaping from an unsecured yard. She will test gates and fencing but does not go over. She does like making some independent landscaping decisions, but isn't very yard destructive and likely isn't going to quickly tunnel out as some huskies do. Luna does have epilepsy (a controllable disease that causes seizures) but doesn't have ANY seizures as long as she takes her pill twice a day. Her last refill at CVS cost $27 for a 2 month supply. Luna LOVES to run and play and regularly gets the husky zoomies. Her other most favorite thing in the world is being brushed. Luna is an absolute lover and loves getting loved on. Being brushed hits all of that for her. And is a major plus for you! Luna would do best with another chill male dog or on her own. She gets along great with her foster brother but has some resource guarding issues with her foster sister. As long as there aren't any toys down and her foster mom isn't sitting on the couch, Luna and her foster sister do OK together for a few hours at a time. Crate trained, knows basic commands, doing well on learning leash and car manners but it's a work in progress Luna is available through Guardians of the Green Mile (www.gotgm.org) of Portage, IN. Application can be found here: https://www.jotform.us/form/43196636952162Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet from Guardians of the Green Mile Inc. We are a group of individuals that have come together to save the lives of animals that are in danger of being euthanized. We raise funds to fully vet the animals and to provide them with a stable home until they are adopted. All of the dogs in our Rescue are in Foster homes while they are looking for their forever family. The only time we put a dog in boarding is for a Foster to go on vacation if another Foster is not able to care for them. We appreciate your taking the time to fill out the application to adopt one of our Guardians of the Green Mile pets. The questions that we ask are to only find the right fit for all of our dogs and the families that will be adopting them. Adoption donation is $300.00 for dogs over 1 year old and $350 with a $50.00 spay / neuter deposit for puppies/dogs under 1 year old. Story
Meet Honey Bun, a 2-year-old Husky mix with two sides to her personality! Indoors, she's a sweet angel-lovable, well-behaved, and the epitome of affection. But once she steps outside, hold onto your hats! Honey Bun turns into a fur tornado, throwing manners out the window to show off her wild acrobatics and boundless energy. She's all about that outdoor life and would thrive in a home with plenty of space for her to run free and let loose. We recommend experienced owners who can provide guidance and training to help channel her inner wild child into good manners. Sturdy children who can handle the Honey Bun-nado will be also best. She is also playful with other dogs and could do well with a similar personality dog! That would be a great way to help her get her energy out. Honey Bun is a lovable goofball who guarantees to keep you laughing and your heart full. Ready to invite this whirlwind of joy into your home?

Story
AVAI'm just a young girl with the most striking topaz eyes, and beautiful red coat. I prefer to be with women, because men can make me somewhat nervous. It may take me time to warm up to you, but once I do, I promise you will have a friend for life.I am currently working with a trainer to help build my confidence, and let my lovely personality shine. As for my heritage, well I'm part Husky, so I'll need a secure fenced yard and due to my shyness no children please.DOB 12/27/2020 53 poundsI'm waiting for a home to call my own. email webmaster@petrefuge.com to learn more about me or fill out an application at https://www.petrefuge.com/adoptPet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes. Story
Trip is waiting for an owner who is willing to enjoy his energy and provide outlets to exercise both his mind and body. He is somewhat insecure so an owner that is confident would be ideal for this adolescent. Trip loves life, and everything around him. He simply just needs to learn some boundaries when it comes to personal space, and expressing his enthusiasm. Remember he is still a puppy. Trip has a tremendous amount of potential to be a wonderful member of someone's family. He is also quite handsome. Trip is a mix of husky/shepherd and will need a fence.DOB 1/15/23 46 PoundsI'm waiting for a home to call my own. email webmaster@petrefuge.com to learn more about me or fill out an application at https://www.petrefuge.com/adoptPet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes.
