Story
Hello new friends! My name is Midnight. My human friends here at MHS tell me that I am a dream of a pup for anyone who loves training and wants to adopt one of the most intelligent dogs! And, once I know you, I am the happiest girl! Now, let's go back to talking about training...I am very treat-motivated and am so smart. So, I really think you could teach me anything and I'd succeed! I'm a cautious but sweet girl when I'm in a new environment, so please give me time to get to know you here at MHS and time to adjust once we become a family. I love to sniff out new places and things and I do gain confidence over time! And speaking of confidence, I also gain confidence in relationships! The more I know you, the more into the relationship I am. For example, as soon as I know we are good buds, I love affection and melt into it. Again, just be patient with me! I do come around and am awesome! A couple of visits before we adopt each other wouldn't be a bad thing! As far as other furry friends go, I've shown most interest in dog friends who are calm and polite. Young, energetic crazy pups are a bit too much for what I'm interested in! I'm more of a Zen type of girl. I'm not sure what I think about kitties but can let you know soon. Older kiddos would be best for me; about 9ish and up! A few of my fave activities are snuffling through a snufflemat, working through food puzzles, or anything that involves me using my nose and foraging! It's so fun! Toys are alright, but I am most motivated by food and affection. I know how to sit, stay, come, and shake paws. My leash-walking manners are pretty good, too! I am about 65-pounds, am about five years old, and I'm spayed. Remember! You can always call MHS at 219-872-4499 to schedule an appointment to see me or just stop on by! Love, Midnight.

Story
I'm Astro. I'm a 62 pound boy and I'm estimated at 2 years old. I was loose for three weeks and I was finally captured. I like to play with other dogs. I do not get along with cats! I know sit on command and I'm working on my other basic commands. I am affectionate and love to be pet. I just want to be by your side. I am a Velcro dog. I just want a safe and comfortable home where I will be loved and appreciated after running for so long.

Story
AVAI'm just a young girl with the most striking topaz eyes, and beautiful red coat. I prefer to be with women, because men can make me somewhat nervous. It may take me time to warm up to you, but once I do, I promise you will have a friend for life.I am currently working with a trainer to help build my confidence, and let my lovely personality shine. As for my heritage, well I'm part Husky, so I'll need a secure fenced yard and due to my shyness no children please.DOB 12/27/2020 46 poundsI'm waiting for a home to call my own. email webmaster@petrefuge.com to learn more about me or fill out an application at https://www.petrefuge.com/adoptPet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes. Story
Trip is waiting for an owner who is willing to enjoy his energy and provide outlets to exercise both his mind and body. He is somewhat insecure so an owner that is confident would be ideal for this adolescent. Trip loves life, and everything around him. He simply just needs to learn some boundaries when it comes to personal space, and expressing his enthusiasm. Remember he is still a puppy. Trip has a tremendous amount of potential to be a wonderful member of someone's family. He is also quite handsome. Trip is a mix of husky/shepherd and will need a fence.DOB 1/15/23 46 PoundsI'm waiting for a home to call my own. email webmaster@petrefuge.com to learn more about me or fill out an application at https://www.petrefuge.com/adoptPet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes.
