Story
We took Duke in from our friends brother. Duke spent 23 out of 24 hours a day in a crate because the owner wasn’t allowed to have him in the house. He was terribly infested with fleas, so I couldn’t let him stay there. Unfortunately I just didn’t know what all was involved in taking care of a husky. He is a great dog. He loves people and other dogs! Our home is very small and he is rather large. He lives outside but we feel like he deserves a better home with more attention for him. He also needs a groomer to handle his coat that is not in the best shape. We can’t afford that and he strongly dislikes any touching on his backside. Other than that he’s not a hard dog. He’s stubborn by nature as that comes with the breed, but he would make any one that has the time for him so happy!

Story
Maddox is a husky puppy that a family got and realized he was a bit too much for them to handle.  He was born January 2 and weighed 23.2 pounds on 4/2/24.  He is a sweet puppy, but is quite active and will need a home that understands Huskies.Maddox is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and started on monthly heartworm prevention.  His adoption fee is $450 and you can apply to adopt him at mpravl.org All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. April 19, 2024, 6:35 am

Story
Do you hear that “Awoooo!” in the distance? It’s Angie! Miss Angie is a spirited and talkative Husky, and she’s always happy to tell you about her day! She thrives on interaction with people, and she’s also a social butterfly with other dogs. Angie’s playful demeanor makes her an ideal companion for someone with an active and engaging lifestyle! Big fan of: Keeping busy! Angie would be the paw-fect match for someone who enjoys going on outdoor adventures. If you are looking for a furry friend to take to new, scenic places, Angie is your girl! In addition to physical exercise, Angie is a smart and trainable young pup who thrives on mental stimulation. Teaching her new tricks will be a fun and rewarding experience for both Angie and her human! This canine Einstein would also love to have her own collection of puzzle toys to solve. Working on: Learning the ropes of a home environment. Angie may not have lived in a regular home before, so she’ll need some continued training to adjust to her new lifestyle. With plenty of positive reinforcement, this smart girl should settle into her new routines quickly! Dream home: One with active adopters who are committed to keeping this intelligent young dog busy and engaged. Angie would love to live in a home with another dog who shares her wrestling playstyle, but she could also be your one and only! She displays many goofy characteristics that are typical of Husky-type dogs, so an owner with previous Husky experience (or a sense of humor!) would be a bonus. If you think there isn’t another dog that comes close to Angie, please submit an adoption inquiry here: https://airtable.com/shr1nGkF2RcpTMHYQ  Please note: Our meet-and-greets take place in Weaverville, North Carolina. I helped deliver diesel. I also have his mama. His birthday is October 24, 2023. He is almost 5 months. He is very sweet and clumsy. He reminds me of scooby doo. He doesn’t know how to judge his distance just yet so he falls and kiss you with his nose. He loves snuggles and he can sit and give you paw.

Story
This is Buster, we think he is between 3 and 4 years old. We believe he is a husky mix. He is perfect with other dogs of all sizes. He is also cat friendly. He is amazing with kids from babies to young and older kids. He is 100% house broke, as well as crate trained. He would love to have a fenced-in backyard to run and play in. He is trained to sit, lay, and come to you. He is moderately leash trained, and if he is outside, he must be on a leash unless in a fenced-in area, or he will take off running. He loves his toys, and he likes treats as well. He will come with some brand-new toys and treats to his new home. He loves to play fetch with you and show you all his toys. He will tear his toys apart quickly but loves to play with the remains for weeks! He is by far the best dog I have ever had the honor of having. He has been wormed and has also been treated for fleas. He does get very attached so whoever gets him needs to plan on making that his forever love filled home. **Adoption fee includes 1st shots, vet visits, and deworming. ** Adoption Application: mercyrescue.org

Story
This animal is NOT available through Brother Wolf Animal Rescue. This is a courtesy listing only, so you will need to contact the current owner for more information or to adopt. PLEASE CONTACT THE OWNER: call or text: (423) 213-1583 Kheeli is a 6 yr old ball of energy. She loves running and playing with toys in a fenced yard away from any other dogs or small animals. She has not shared a home with kids due to their unpredictable nature, as she likes routine and a structured household. She has shared separate spaces blocked off from a cat in the home. She likes to be the only animal in the home and once acclimated enjoys head scratches in a calm environment. Kheeli has had poorly managed interactions as a puppy with other dogs that has resulted in her not being so trusting as first. She remains happy in a controlled home with a responsible human. She is crate trained and knows where to go for breakfast and dinnertime. She is on a current medication regimen for anxiety and nerves, and special gastrointestinal food to avoid upset. All health concerns are under control. And takes monthly heart worm interceptor, had a case of heart worms caught early when she was 2 and has been healthy since. She loves tough chewer toys but will sleep with a soft toy of her choosing. She can be mischievous like most dogs and sniff and get into things as she can reach counters and get into things if left out and unattended so best to keep a tidy space and allow for free safe wondering of the home. She wears a muzzle on walks to help deter eating things off the ground, and help her feel safe when walking around other dogs. Avoiding direct contact with other dogs and kids is ideal to keep her happy and safe. Has been microchipped and the information for the microchip number is available.
