Meet Cubby – Your Adventure Buddy and Best Friend! Breed: Husky Mix | Age: 2.5 years | Weight: 50 lbs Cubby is a stunning Husky mix with soulful eyes and a heart of gold. After being rescued from an overcrowded backyard situation, this sweet boy has blossomed in foster care and is now ready to find his forever family.   Cubby has discovered the joys of life—walks, playtime, snuggles, and, most of all, people! He’s affectionate, smart, and always seems to be trying to understand everything around him with those expressive eyes. He’s especially great with children and loves being part of a family.   An energetic and athletic pup, Cubby thrives on adventure. He loves long walks, hiking, backpacking, playing fetch, running beside a bike, and splashing in the water. If you lead an active lifestyle, Cubby might just be your perfect match. And when the day is done? He’s happy to chill on his dog bed, content just being near his people.   Cubby currently lives with two other dogs and absolutely loves playing with them. He would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and another dog buddy—or as your one-and-only if he gets plenty of exercise and enrichment.   Cubby is not just a dog—he’s a loyal companion, hiking partner, and forever friend who will bring joy, laughter, and love to your life. All he needs is a family who will give him the active, loving home he deserves.    Fostered in Tennessee   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 15, 2025, 6:39 pm

Story
Fen has spent far too many days watching the world from the end of a chain. When his owner moved away, this 6-year-old Lab/Husky mix was left behind on a lonely tie-out at an empty house, cared for only by kind neighbors who refused to let him be forgotten. They shared that Fen once lived indoors, but as his owner’s health declined, Fen’s life slowly shrank to neglect and isolation. Despite it all, Fen’s heart remains wide open.   This sweet boy is full of gentle enthusiasm and gratitude for every bit of attention. The moment he’s free to stretch his legs, Fen lights up — he loves to run, play, and feel the joy of simply being a dog again. He already knows how to sit, walks well on a leash, and shows just how smart and willing he is to listen and learn. Fen wants so badly to connect with people; he leans in for affection like he’s been saving up years of love to give.   Because he’s been forced to live outside for so long, he may need a little patience while relearning house manners and routine — but he’s had a home before, and he’s eager to understand again. Fen is currently underweight, a visible reminder of how he’s been failed, but also a hopeful sign of how much better his future can be with someone who truly cares.   Fen isn’t broken. He’s loving, loyal, and ready to bloom in the hands of a family who will never leave him behind again. All he needs now is a warm place to land, steady meals, and the promise that he’ll always belong.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 20, 2026, 9:56 pm

Story
Introducing Wheeler – the boy who steals hearts everywhere he goes! This 1 year old, 40-pound German Shepherd/Husky mix is as smart as he is handsome. Wheeler has already mastered sit and shake with both paws and became fully housebroken in just one week with his foster family. He’s crate trained, learning to walk well on a leash, and eager to soak up everything that’s taught to him.  This boy with the amazing smile and wonderful ears knows how to steal hearts.  Wheeler is a social butterfly who loves everyone—kids, adults, dogs, and even cats. In fact, he’s convinced the cats in his foster home need constant “baths,” which he happily provides with endless affection. He also enjoys curling up in a lap, whether it belongs to a person or another pup. This sweet boy needs company in his life.   Another companion dog would make him happy and feel secure along with a family that has someone home alot. This all is due to the hard past that started when Wheeler was a puppy. He and his brother were abandoned, and he was found underweight and limping from what turned out to be an old hip injury—likely caused by a car or a blow to his leg.  It was fractured but never set to heal correctly by a vet.  It healed on its own and doesnt bother him, but he’ll always have a slight limp.  Dont feel sorry about that because it doesn’t slow him down one bit. He runs and plays like nothing ever happened, a joyful reminder of his resilient spirit. He needs a fenced yard so he can get all his energy out daily. What makes this particular boy so special isn’t just his good looks or intelligence—it’s his kind heart. He’s grateful for every bit of love and safety he’s found in rescue, and he’s ready to give that love right back to the family lucky enough to call him their own.  If Wheeler sounds like the perfect match for your family, please email ccrtennessee@gmail.com. This incredible boy is waiting to meet his forever people, and we know you’ll be smitten from the very first hello. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 9, 2026, 11:29 am

Story
Azula is a one-year-old Husky, and she currently lives with me and two other dogs (Toy Poodle and Goldendoodle). She likes to sleep a lot during the day, but is still a high-energy dog. She is very friendly and playful and would do really well in a house with kids/other dogs. She loves to play tug-of-war and she really loves to play chase. She would do best with a family that can make the time to play with her and keep her mind occupied. She'll play with any chew toy that you give her, and she won't destroy them. She also loves cuddles and attention. She knows basic commands like sit, go, come here, and stay. She is crate-trained and is totally fine free roaming when left alone at the house. She does not have separation anxiety. She will just sleep or chew on one of her toys and wait for me to return. She is very quiet. She does not bark at random noises and is calm and quiet when someone rings the doorbell or when there are house guests. She also loves car rides.

Story
Teddy is a 1 year and 6-month-old half husky and half golden retriever. His name is Teddy because he looks and feels like a soft teddy bear. He is sweet, almost fully house trained, microchipped, and neutered. My daughter adopted him and then had to leave for college. She thought she would be able to take him, but she couldn't due to her roommates' allergies. I am not able to care for him as I will be traveling extensively for work starting in 3 weeks and live in a small apartment. He is a very sweet and loving dog and would make a great family pet. Teddy knows commands such as "sit", "go out", "food" "snack". He gets along with other dogs and is very playful and loving with humans. We are sad to have to rehome him but know it is what is best for him. He comes with his toys, leash and dog bowl. Charlotte area

Story
I adopted Mugiwara (Mugi for short) from the CMPD animal control on February 12th, 2022. She was extremely underweight and still a young dog, and more than likely one to two years old. She was severely underweight, and 36 pounds she is currently around 65 pounds. She is very anxious and clingy. She is scared of most men as well as anything or anyone loud and/or large. Once accustomed to you, she is very clingy and licks often. She sheds often year-round. She rarely barks indoors, and in general but often barks at other dogs or human beings outside the fence in the backyard. She is potty trained and understands the commands "down", "off", "sit", "stay", and "come." She is definitely an indoor dog, but she does enjoy being outside as long as someone is with her. Mugi also has some sort of infection on her right paw as of May 2025. Adoption can also be temporary if preferred. Crate, bedding, feeding bowls, poop bags, leashes & toys will be provided.
