Story
Pumpkin is a nearly 5-year-old Husky known for his playful and friendly nature, particularly enjoying the company of other dogs. While he was raised alongside cats, his current disposition towards them is uncertain. Regrettably, Pumpkin's owner can no longer afford to care for him due to the demands of holding two jobs and the consequent guilt of leaving him alone for extended periods. Pumpkin seeks a new home that can provide him with ample space to play and run freely. If you're searching for a devoted and spirited companion, Pumpkin could be the ideal addition to your family.

Story
This is a COURTESY POST, so this dog is not at the Cornelius Animal Shelter. If you're interested in Keo, please contact his foster parent at 302-438-5766. Meet Keo! This big teddy bear is the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet. We believe Keo is around 3 or 4 years old. Our son started fostering him when his prior owner left the area and couldn’t take Keo with him, but he wasn’t an appropriate dog for a small apartment. When he first joined us, he was underweight and having gut issues. After much testing we discovered that Keo has a form of Addison's Disease, which is easily treated with a small dose of prednisone. His health is now excellent, and he’s at a good weight and is very happy! We’ve been fostering Keo for several months now, and he gets along very well with our 4 other dogs (both males and females). He loves to play, preferring to chase and be chased rather than retrieving balls or sticks. Keo loves taking walks and he likes to wade in the water down at the lake. He likes a comfy dog bed and will sleep on the floor right next to your bed if you let him. He doesn’t get on the furniture unless invited and is not a “counter surfer”. When Keo is excited, he vocalizes like a husky, but is otherwise a quiet dog – he doesn’t bark at other dogs or passers-by. As a larger black dog he looks imposing, but you can see the sweetness and focus in his beautiful blue eyes. Give Keo a chance, you won’t regret it! He deserves a great home.

Story
Marla’s spay appointment is October 11th at the cmpd shelter. sad I just adopted Marla not even a month and I just lost my source of income. She is sweet. Very sweet. House trained. Very sensitive stomach. Basically be careful with treats. If you give her treats take her out within 15-20 minutes see how she reacts. She gets a sick stomach very fast. Dry food only please. She is not so much into toys. Even treats she doesn’t care unless it’s the little training treats. She is between 6 months to 2 years. The shelter says 2 years but she has puppy behavior

Story
Hazel is a 4-year-old, 60 lb. Siberian Husky/Shepherd mix who was dumped at a shelter pregnant last summer. She had 8 beautiful pups and has been patiently waiting on someone to choose her. Hazel is dog selective and is an alpha. She should be okay with another dog as long as she is the alpha and has a slow introduction. She was excellent with her pups as they got older and found homes. She is more relaxed with other dogs around and awaits patiently for the other dogs to come out to run with her up and down the fence at her foster home (there is a fence in between). She has done fine with a younger female dog and has played with her, but she did not so well with another dominant female. Hazel is super sweet and loves to run, play, and be pet and loved on. She has just had a rough go of it and takes time to build trust. She has a lot of energy and needs a lot of exercise. Hazel will need a patient person to give her plenty of love and attention.

These pups are in Concord, North Carolina too!
