Story
Miss Naomi. Siberian Husky. Possibly a hybrid. She has piercing hazel-blue eyes and unique facial features/markings. She is spunky and fun. Naomi has a neat personality, knows some commands, Loves snacks and belly rubs. When she connects with you she connects. She has been nothing but gentle and sweet with us at the shelter. Gets super excited when she sees us but can be leery of strangers. She has met other dogs and did well. She also met a cat at the vet and was non reactive (but she was very afraid and stressed at the vet so this may have caused her to be disconnected).Naomi is underweight. We are working on that at the shelter. She was found on 7/3/2023 with No collar, No ID, No Microchip in Westfield Township.Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt. Gilead, OH. 419-946-1747June 12, 2024, 11:57 am

Story
We rescued a Husky that was tied to a house and left. We have been trying to work with her for a long time. She is a runner. I unfortunately am allergic to her and can’t even touch her with out breaking out in hives. I hate to rehome her but we really have no choice. I’m trying to find help in finding her a home and I don’t know even how to begin doing that. I want to make sure she goes to a loving and matched home for her. She is approx 5 years old from what the vet told us. She is spayed. During her spay surgery she didn’t react well to anesthesia so the vet told her should can’t go under anesthesia anymore

Story
Ziggy is a 4-year-8-month old Siberian Husky weighing 70 pounds. He came to the shelter due to his owner no longer being able to care for him. If you've never had a husky please do your homework before adopting one! Ziggy can be aloof when you first meet him. Time and attention will have him in your lap. He loves squeaky toys and plays well by himself. Is unsure with playing outside, tug or fetch are unknown to him. He is excited for walks but needs leash training and overall training in basic manners. He's very stubborn, (typical husky behavior)) knows commands but does what he pleases. Does well with strangers and car rides. Treat motivated & housebroken. Very fearful of veterinarian handling-sedation recommended. His adoption fee is $150, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $20.75. Please visit the shelter to meet him, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today! The Humane Society of Sandusky County is open Monday -Friday 1pm - 5pm and Saturdays from 1pm - 4pm. Also, be sure to check us out on FaceBook!
