His favorite pastime is playing with his toys, and he’s always ready for a little fun.At 8 years old, Loki is a medium- to low-energy guy who enjoys a nice balance of activity and relaxation. He still appreciates his walks, exercise, and time to explore, but he’s also happy to settle in and enjoy some downtime with his people.Loki is a sweet boy with a big personality and some important boundaries. He really loves his toys and isn’t a fan of having them taken from his mouth. Because of this, he would do best in a home with children ages 5 and up who can understand and respect his space and boundaries around his toys.Loki needs to go to a cat-free home. If there are other dogs or children in the home, a meet and greet will be required to make sure everyone is comfortable and a good match.If you’re looking for a fun-loving, mature pup who enjoys playtime just as much as relaxing, Loki could be your guy! Katie is a 4-5 yr old mixed breed.  She is approximately 75 lbs but should not get any bigger. Katie is a proud female and will need to meet any other dogs in the home. She can be barky with new friends. We do not know how she is with cats or children.  Katie has already been spayed, wormed, tested negative for heartworm, vaccinated and is microchipped. She was found in critical condition with infected wounds that required emergency surgery and days of intensive hospital care. Her babies were bottle-fed around the clock while she fought to recover.She’s met other animals in her foster home, including the cat who has appointed himself the official welcome committee for every new foster, along with 3 other dogs. She’s figured out that couches are for sleeping on (not just looking at), and is slowly realizing that gentle hands mean good things.Her healing journey isn’t finished, but she’s already showing us who she really is: resilient, trusting, and ready for more.If you’re looking for a dog who knows what matters and won’t take a single good day for granted — she might be your girl. 💕Apply to meet Arden at ricopetrecovery.org. Sassy is currently at county pound but we will pull her if we can find a foster.Sassy and 8 other dogs were taken from abusive owners.  Prior to being seized, Sassy lived indoors and never went outside.We have a volunteer who has gone to the shelter and has taken Sassy for walks and reports that Sassy is a wonderful dog!  She is good on a leash and loves belly rubs.Sassy needs to be on a strong leash at all times.  She gets spooked easily (remember, all of this is new to her) by cars, loud noises, etc.Sassy is approximately 40 pounds.  She has been spayed.  Sassy lived with dozens of cats prior to being seized and taken to the shelter.Apply to foster Sassy and help her learn to trust people and gain confidence at ricopetrecovery.org

Meet Elsa! ❄️With a name like Elsa, you probably won't be surprised to see a gorgeous snow-white coat! This Elsa may not live in an ice palace, but with her snowy coat, pink nose, and fabulous curled tail, she certainly looks the part.Elsa is a 1-year, 8-month-old Husky mix weighing about 40 pounds, and the reviews so far are unanimous: this girl is an absolute sweetheart. She is affectionate, loves attention, and seems to love everyone she meets. One volunteer summed her up perfectly: “She’s just super sweet... and absolutely stunningly beautiful.”And stunning she is! During her photo session, Elsa was a little too interested in everything happening around her to spend much time posing. There were things to see, places to explore, and people to visit! But when we did catch her attention, we got that wonderful big Elsa smile.At not quite two years old, Elsa is still a young dog, and we're looking forward to learning even more about her as she settles in.
