Meet Marshmallow. Marshmallow came to us from a rough humane case, but you'd never know it by his joyful spirit. This sweet, goofy boy lives for playtime with his people and absolutely loves to show off his lightning-fast zoomies in the yard. Rain? Snow? Sunshine? He doesn't mind one bit - as long as he gets to be outside having fun. Just beware mud puddles are his absolute favorite! He does wonderfully with kids of all ages and thrives on attention and activity. When it comes to cats, Marshmallow has a high prey drive and has not done well with the house cats at the shelter. With other dogs, he can be a bit selective doing really well with some and not so great with a few others. If you have a canine companion already in your home, we ask that a meet and greet is scheduled before deciding to take Marshmallow home! Marshmallow is still polishing up on his manners - he's working on his potty training and can get a bit jumpy when he gets very excited. But with his eagerness to learn he would truly blossom with a family ready to turn training into a fun bonding adventure. An active home with a yard or one that could take him on frequent walks would be perfect for this energetic sweetheart. If you are looking for a loyal and playful best friend who will keep you laughing (and maybe a little muddy), Marshmallow is ready to run straight into your heart! Meet Arden From Barely Surviving to Her First Walk This is Arden, a 9-year-old mama whos learning that life doesnt have to hurt.Just weeks ago, she was rescued after giving birth to 8 puppies. She was found in critical condition with infected wounds that required emergency surgery and days of intensive hospital care. Her babies were bottle-fed around the clock while she fought to recover.Shes met other animals in her foster home, including the cat who has appointed himself the official welcome committee for every new foster, along with 3 other dogs. Shes figured out that couches are for sleeping on (not just looking at), and is slowly realizing that gentle hands mean good things.Her healing journey isnt finished, but shes already showing us who she really is: resilient, trusting, and ready for more.If youre looking for a dog who knows what matters and wont take a single good day for granted she might be your girl. Sassy is currently at county pound but we will pull her if we can find a foster.Sassy and 8 other dogs were taken from abusive owners. Prior to being seized, Sassy lived indoors and never went outside.We have a volunteer who has gone to the shelter and has taken Sassy for walks and reports that Sassy is a wonderful dog! She is good on a leash and loves belly rubs.Sassy needs to be on a strong leash at all times. She gets spooked easily (remember, all of this is new to her) by cars, loud noises, etc.Sassy is approximately 40 pounds. She has been spayed. Sassy lived with dozens of cats prior to being seized and taken to the shelter.Apply to foster Sassy and help her learn to trust people and gain confidence at ricopetrecovery.org
