Story
We adopted Trinity from family in crisis, we have had her for 2 months. We have had many huskies and we absolutely love the breed. She is a sweet, good natured dog and we have grown to love her, however things are just not working out. We have 2 cats and have always been successful with integrating the huskies and the cats but this time it is nothing but trouble. In addition Trinity requires training that we do not have the time to provide. She is extremely high energy and does not have good listening skills at this time. We believe that she would benefit from a home with another husky, no cats and no small children. She gets along great with other dogs. She is not aggressive in a dangerous way but is so high energy we believe she could accidentally harm a child less than 5 to 6 years of age or a small dog. We are not desperate to rehome her and will take care of her until we find the absolute right home for her with someone who has lots oftime, patience. She is 10 monthsold

Story
Ziggy is a 4-year-5-month old Siberian Husky weighing 70 pounds. He came to the shelter due to his owner no longer being able to care for him. If you've never had a husky please do your homework before adopting one! Ziggy can be aloof when you first meet him. Time and attention will have him in your lap. He loves squeaky toys and plays well by himself. Is unsure with playing outside, tug or fetch are unknown to him. He is excited for walks but needs leash training and overall training in basic manners. He's very stubborn, (typical husky behavior)) knows commands but does what he pleases. Does well with strangers and car rides. Treat motivated & housebroken. Very fearful of veterinarian handling-sedation recommended. His adoption fee is $150, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $20.75. Please visit the shelter to meet him, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today! The Humane Society of Sandusky County is open Monday -Friday 1pm - 5pm and Saturdays from 1pm - 4pm. Also, be sure to check us out on FaceBook!

Story
While transporting puppies from the euthanasia list in Texas - Grimace appeared in the McDonalds parking lot. We tried to take her to animal control; but they checked her for a chip then refused to take her. So she made her way to ohio with us! Grimace is a very calm husky so far. She loves to cuddle and nap on the couch. She will definitely be a Velcro dog. She does well with puppies, adult dogs, cats. I suspect she’ll do well with kids as well (we will know soon as she is going to a foster with kids). Grimace is a very even tempered dog. Unfortunately, she’s smarter than me. She truly believes she’s a street dog; she will slip her collar and go for a run. I have easily caught her by following and waiting for her to stop to potty. So far, she seems to be potty trained. She is heartworm negative, has been vaccinated for DAPP and Rabies. She will be spayed and chipped soon.
