Story
Nanook is 6 yrs old (7 in Jan) he has lived his whole life so far with 2 young children, another dog and a cat, he's great with all of them. Nanook is high-energy and will need a fenced yard. He is not an escape artist, so even a chainlink is good. He knows basic commands, such as sit & shake, but he can be stubborn & choose when he listens to those commands. He is very treat motivated though. He is extremely loving, enjoys cuddling on the couch, sleeping in bed with his humans, & getting lots of pets. Nanook has a lot of hair, he does shed, all year round - if you do not enjoy sweeping and vacuuming everyday, he is NOT the pet for you. Nanook has to be rehomed due to no fault of his, but a very serious medical situation within our family. He has a dog-sister looking for a new home too, would love to keep them together if anyone is interested, but understand if they must be separated. Adoption fee is negotiable to the perfect family.

Story
Ziggy is a 5 year old Siberian Husky weighing 70 pounds. He came to the shelter due to his owner no longer being able to care for him. If you've never had a husky please do your homework before adopting one! Ziggy can be aloof when you first meet him. Time and attention will have him in your lap. He loves squeaky toys and plays well by himself. Is unsure with playing outside, tug or fetch are unknown to him. He is excited for walks but needs leash training and overall training in basic manners. He's very stubborn, (typical husky behavior)) knows commands but does what he pleases. Does well with strangers and car rides. Treat motivated & housebroken. Very fearful of veterinarian handling-sedation recommended. Due to his size, no small children, he will easily knock them over in his eagerness to play. His adoption fee is $150, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Please visit the shelter to meet him, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today! The Humane Society of Sandusky County is open Monday -Friday 1pm - 5pm and Saturdays from 1pm - 4pm. Also, be sure to check us out on FaceBook!

Story
Rory is a 2 year old Siberian Husky. He’s all white with one brown eye and one blue eye. He is crate trained and does well in the house under supervision. He is full of energy and loves running and playing with people and dogs. Still could use work on being trained inside. He loves digging outside. He does well with our 5 year old at home but we have a baby also and he is a bit too energetic and playful around them. He has never bit anyone but we have to confine him to a small space with kids being so little. He deserves to be able to walk about and be around people more. He is microchipped. He is not neutered. Please help find a good home for him, he is a sweet boy and would love being around a family with slightly bigger kids who can handle his energy.
