Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Say hello to Scout! She was rescued in the Texoma area after (most likely) being dumped on a country road. She was taken in by a Good Samaritan, but no owner was found. So now she has been vetted including spay, and she is ready to find her forever home!   Scout was estimated to be about 2 years old when she was first found. She is super sweet with people and gets along well with other dogs, both male and female. She LOVES to play with other dogs so would appreciate having a canine pal in her new home. Scout is crate-trained and walks nicely on a leash. She is a high energy dog, so she needs an adopter who has a big yard and/or is willing to take her on regular walks and trips to the park.   Scout is being introduced to chickens -- slowly and carefully, always with supervision -- so if you keep a backyard flock, you could continue her training.   If Scout looks like exactly the dog you've been waiting for, complete the application today! Story
Kimmy is an approximately 7-year-old Siberian Husky with a calm, affectionate personality and very low energy for the breed. She is incredibly people-oriented and loves spending time close to her humans, earning her the title of “velcro dog” in her foster home. Kimmy came to Redstone after being found as a stray and left for safekeeping with one of our veterinary partners. At the time, she was heartworm positive and needed routine veterinary care, including being spayed and updated on vaccines. She has since completed heartworm treatment and is now healthy and heartworm negative. Kimmy enjoys a relaxed lifestyle and is not a high-energy husky. Her favorite activities include lounging in the sun, enjoying snacks, and following her people around the house. She appears to be house trained and is crate trained as well. She has done well with calm, lower-energy male dogs and would likely do well with children. Her compatibility with cats is currently unknown. Kimmy would thrive in a quieter home looking for a loyal companion rather than an intense adventure dog. She could do well as an only dog or with a calm canine companion. As a senior dog, Kimmy may require additional age-related care sooner than a younger dog, but she has so much love and companionship to offer in return. ##2310239##

Story
Nelson is a 2–3-year-old Siberian Husky with a social, outgoing personality and an adventurous spirit. He is playful, affectionate, and loves both people and other dogs. Nelson spent a long time in a shelter environment before entering rescue, and the prolonged confinement began causing kennel-related stress behaviors. Since leaving the shelter, he has done much better with increased activity, enrichment, and social interaction. He has moderate energy for the breed but is still significantly more active than the average dog. Nelson would thrive in a home that enjoys outdoor activities and wants a dog to actively participate in daily life, including hiking, camping, walking, or other adventures. Nelson is crate trained and knows some basic commands, though he will benefit from continued reinforcement and structure in his adoptive home. He is dog social and enjoys playing with other dogs, though his play style can be rough and rowdy at times. He does well with children and other dogs. Compatibility with cats or small animals is currently unknown. Nelson does experience separation anxiety and is currently on medication while we work to determine the best long-term management plan. Because of this, he would do best in a home where he will not regularly be left alone for extended periods. Nelson is looking for an adopter who understands the needs of active, intelligent dogs and is excited to include him as a true member of the family. Nelson is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, on heartworm prevention, and ready for a new home!  ##2381743##
