Story
Hettie is a Husky mix found in north Austin on 09/11/23. She is now spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. She is protective, loving, playful, and comfortable with adults and older (10+) children. She loves running and exploring, car rides, and neighborhood walks. Hettie would do best in an active household where people are constantly about, or with another female dog, and she likes being outside for hours at a time in mild weather. HETTIE WILL NEED A FENCED YARD FOR ACTIVITY. She does occasionally dig and she WILL chase smaller wildlife. She does not get along well with some male dogs, and cats are best avoided. She will follow you around constantly until she becomes more comfortable with her new environment, and will very likely prefer to sleep in the same bedroom as you. Hettie will have her own collar & tags, harness, leash, bed, toys, at least 20 lbs dry food, 24 cans wet food, and enough Bravecto for 2024 upon adoption (over $600 in total value).

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Buddy!  He is not a Pyrenees but he is a wonderful dog who deserves a home! Buddy was rescued in August of 2023. He is three years old and assumed to be a purebred Husky. He has a wonderful fun temperament, loves people and is very curious. He has been with dogs no bigger than a shoe and doesn’t exhibit anything but his goofy loving personality. He bounces like Tigger in Winnie the Pooh and is a little clumsy at times, but he is a gracious visitor and truly seems to appreciate the attention and care. When rescued he was very thin and dirty and had been shot in his front leg. He walked right up to his rescuer, allowing her to lift him into the truck and licked her face while she tended his wounds. Originally thought to be beyond repair, orthopedic surgeons repaired his leg, installing a steel plate and screws, told us to keep him still for at least 8 weeks. Buddy’s leg healed beautifully, and his daily exercise routine includes lots of running. He has been neutered and is current on all of his vaccines and boosters.   He is a big, silly dog, suitable for a family or individual willing to love him and be with him. He is a greeter, always very happy to see you. He likes his crate, will lay quietly with you, loves walks and being outside. He is a clown and will initiate play with you. He is show dog beautiful now, responding to good nutrition and care, his coat is robust and with a little attention, very manageable. He now needs some basic training. He is curious and he is a big boy weighing in at 76lbs, so commands to manage him off leash will be important to his success in your home.  He is currently being fostered in Texas but can be on the next NW transport! All our dogs require secure VISIBLE fencing. All current pets in adoptive home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations.  We do not adopt to families with children under the age of 6.  Adoption Fee: $275 All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Transport Fee: $350 Transport fee includes the cost of transport plus the Health Certificate required for USDA approved transport. Adoption applications can be found on our website: www.greatpyrsandpaws.org https://greatpyrsandpaws.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5959   Northwest adopter pays cost of transport to independent transport company.  Transport is arranged by GPPR.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 13, 2024, 1:32 pm

Story
Ske was rescued after bring abandoned in a dog park. So the history is not completely known. We've been helping foster him for about a month. His vet check up was fine, but we did not do any procedures or shots. He is active and attentive. He will do anything for a cable or a treat. He is ok with being crated or not. He wrestles with our dog for fun and and they stop as soon as I clap my hands. He is okay on a leash if you have treats to reward him. If he gets loose he can be called back using his foodbowl. Is young and healthy and adores us. He would make an excellent dog for advanced training like frisbee et cetera. He does bark when a stranger comes but then comes down. He does need hard toys as he will rip up stuffed animals. He does not chew on shoes or other things like that. He's very attentive when you in the kitchen but he does not counter surf. The few undisired habits he had we trained out of him with only a little effort. If he knows what rules are, he follows.

Story
Little Candy came to us as a puppy but she seems to have been treated very badly. She was roaming the streets for several days with a broken off chain around her neck and totally terrified. With lots of cheese and patience, one of our street rescuers was able to safe her. She's still very afraid of the world and she will need a calm household with yard access. Candy likes other dogs and we think, that another dog would help her come out of her shell. She's absolutely beautiful and precious as you can see in the pictures! Will you help us, give Candy a nice childhood from now on and a happy life? Basic requirements for Candy's home are an adult household with yard and a compatible dog companion for Candy.
