Meet Skye! Skye is a 7-year-old terrier/dachshund mix who found herself looking for a new home after her previous owner could no longer care for her. This sweet, silly girl has so much love to give and will keep you smiling with her goofy personality and love for toys. Skye enjoys playing fetch, doing little zoomies around the house, and then curling up in your lap for snuggles and kisses. She can be a little shy with new people at first, but she warms up quickly and shows just how affectionate she is. She’s good with other dogs and older kids, and while she hasn’t had much experience with younger children, she may do fine with proper introductions. Skye is also working on her potty training—she spent long stretches of time in an apartment before coming to us—but she’s improving every day with the help of her foster. Skye does have some environmental allergies (she’s been tested), which may occasionally require an allergy shot to keep her comfortable. Otherwise, she’s in great health and ready to find her forever family. We will never understand why people could be so cruel and be able to sleep at night. This is Mamba and Ariel. These two little ones were dumped in a box in the streets of Long Beach some time ago. A good Samaritan brought them to his house and instead of taking them to the shelter, he started to call rescues everywhere. They did have microchips and given names. However, the owners were nowhere to be found. Weeks past and the good Samaritan got a hold of our rescue, and we welcomed these two little "dogs in the box". Mamba and Ariel were eventually adopted from us and they were cared for. Unfortunately, the owners do not want to keep them both. We would never separate them, so we have come to agreement that we will take both back. It is very obvious they are bonded, and it would be cruel to have them be apart. Sometimes this happens and our adoption contract clearly states that in the event you are not able to keep the dog adopted from us, the dog shall return to us only. We would love to find a home for these two, they are both up to date with everything, including dentals. They love to do everything together, walks, naps, play and cuddle. They are small mix dogs, mid-age. Please contact us if you are interested, they are located in the san Fernando valley where they can be fostered or adopted. We DO NOT adopt out of state. Adoption only open to Southern California residents. We do not adopt out to households with children under 10 years old. An application needs to be filled out prior to meeting any of our dogs. Meet Dexter, a 10 year old Jack Russell mix. Dexter has lived in his current home for 10 years and has seen many changes. Early in his little life a more aggressive dog joined their family who bullied him. This taught him to become possessive of his food and his toys to the point where he also became aggressive in how he deals with people or dogs who get too near. He has also gone from a home with a yard to a small apartment so he doesn't have much room to stretch his legs. Dexter enjoys being active with walks, runs and dog parks. He is cuddly and will curl up for a nap with you wherever you are. He doesn't mind baths and isn’t afraid of thunderstorms. This is Budge. He is a very cuddly boy who likes to lap sit and sleep in your bed, if permitted. He takes the leash and a harness, but he’s not happy about it. He was used to roaming freely. He’s quiet most of the time, likes to play for brief periods and loves his treats. I hope someone can give him a forever home. I’ve only had him for a few months, so we are still getting to know each other. I lost my housing and have no way to care for him properly. He’s a good little man and a fine companion.
