Story
Looks like: Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua mix Male, 9 years old (estimated), 21 pounds Since landing in a loving foster home, with its caring and peaceful environment, handsome Bobby has been able to decompress and has really come out of his shell. This super sweet and lovable guy experienced some bullying from other dogs in the shelter, and while he can still get scared occasionally, he walks well on leash and greets new dogs with a quick, polite sniff. He has also done well with other dogs visiting his foster home! He greatly appreciates having his very own pooch support person and quickly and closely bonds with his human companion, but he is also always open to meeting new people. When he is in the mood, he sometimes performs hilarious "sing-alongs" with his foster mom and he very much likes to sleep and snuggle under the covers with her at night. We have not yet had the opportunity to see how he behaves around cats or children, but given his reserved and gentle nature, we assume that he would do just fine. Bobby's favorite activity is to walk around with his beloved triple flavor twist sticks and hide them in top secret locations around the house! How cute is that?! Bobby is a low-maintenance sweetheart, and he would love to find a safe and quiet home with a nice cushy bed where he can curl up and just be near you. He will follow you around, making sure that he does not lose track of you. He is fine when home alone now and then, but is also up for coming along on car rides. As time goes by, we expect Bobby to become more and more confident in regards to meeting other dogs. Until then, he would prefer to be the only dog in the home. We can't wait to see him making the best of his second chance in life. Bobby joined us from Kern County Animal Services.

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $650   Picnic is a 2 year old Jack Russell Terrier x Beagle mix who’s ready to open up the basket of life and choose the tastiest treat! Picnic was rescued from the shelter after being left behind at the local park and we scooped this 11 pound pint of adorableness promising nothing but love in her future! Picnic is a low rider so if you’re ready for a loyal and loving companion who keeps things cool as a cucumber, adopt her today!    Picnic is a loving and curious gal who can’t wait to explore the world outside her door! When she first arrived at her foster home she was a bit shy, but we soon saw her amazing personality blossom as she made herself comfortable. She loves keeping her humans company and is always down for a snuggle but she can also keep herself busy when she needs to. She loves snack time and is frequently found chomping down on an apple or a banana slice when her humans head to the kitchen. Picnic is a total lounger and she loves her stuffed toys which she uses as pillows when she snoozes. She is still figuring out how to “dog” but she is making great progress every day! She also loves her adventures though and is happy to trot by your side for miles at a time. Picnic would thrive in an environment where she can spend her days with her humans as she shows them love. She would be a fabulous coworker for someone who works from home or someone who can take a companion to the office with them. Picnic can’t wait to unwrap her new chapter and chow down with you!  Picnic starts her morning at 6 AM with a potty break followed by some snuggles. She goes out for her morning walk and then happily returns home for her breakfast with her humans. During the workday, she keeps her humans company from her soft dog bed, taking occasional breaks for romps in the yard or potty breaks. She rests for the remainder of the day and then has her dinner at 5 PM before her evening stroll. At 9 PM she goes out for one last potty and then she puts on her jammies and heads to bed! Picnic has lived with dogs previously and does well with calm energy. She would prefer a quieter adult only home, or a home with older kids. Picnic walks well on a leash and is completely house trained. Picnic is excited for a lifetime of adventures and snacks so come on down and meet our gal!      Picnic is only an option for homes who have prior dog owning experience. Kids should be over the age of 15.April 2, 2025, 2:08 pm

Story
Bo Location: San Carlos, CA Male DOB 11-7-2019 Bo is available for fostering or adoption. He gets along well with other dogs, especially females. Due to an attack by a large dog when he was a puppy, Bo is initially cautious when meeting new dogs. Bo is well-mannered and enjoys being indoors with access to a yard. He has experience hunting vermin and isn't afraid to use his voice! Unfortunately, his owner is no longer able to care for him due to the passing of one owner and the other's need to care for two others in their 90s, which requires a lot of travel. This has left Bo alone for extended periods. If you're interested in offering Bo a loving home, please apply at https://jackrussellrescueca.org/adopt/. If you have additional questions please email jrussellrescueca@gmail.com or complete an inquiry form online.
