All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $650 Meet the Wine Puppies!   Introducing Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Sauv Blanc, and Riesling — a delightful litter of four Jack Russell Terrier mix puppies (10–11 weeks old) who were rescued from an overcrowded shelter. Despite their rough start, these little ones have blossomed into joyful, curious, and cuddly companions.   Their day begins around 7:30am with breakfast followed by some serious playtime. After they've run off some puppy energy, they nap in intervals, often cuddled up together or sprawled out with their favorite toys. Lunchtime is at 12:30pm, and then they enjoy a mid-day play session outside their pen. After dinner (around 6–7pm), they wind down with a longer playtime and lots of snuggles before bed.   Each of the Wine Puppies has their own special flavor:   Chardonnay – This brave little boy is the social butterfly of the bunch. Always the first to explore or greet you with a wagging tail, Chardonnay has a fearless, adventurous spirit. He’s also a total snuggle bug— his favorite move is doing a round of zoomies before leaping into your lap for a cuddle. He’s got the heart of a leader and the soul of a cuddle monster.   Pinot Grigio – Don’t be fooled by her initial timidness—Pinot Grigio just needs a few minutes to warm up, and then her playful, intelligent personality comes out in full. She’s a toy fanatic and a quick study, already mastering “sit” after just three tries! Gentle and smart, Pinot is as charming as they come.   Sauv Blanc – The mellow one. Sauv Blanc loves her cozy spots and is perfectly content playing independently or watching the world from a comfy perch. The most reserved of the group, she’ll quietly come over when she’s ready for affection and curl up beside you for a peaceful snooze. A sweetheart with a calm soul.   Riesling – Riesling is the quirky, fun-loving pup who always keeps things interesting. She’s full of playful energy, often leading the pack in a game of chase, but when she’s ready to rest, your lap is her favorite place to be. Training with Riesling is entertaining— she may get distracted, but when she focuses, she learns fast and gives it her all. She’s the perfect mix of silly and sweet.   Whether you’re looking for a bold adventurer, a calm snuggler, a clever learner, or a playful goofball, one of the Wine Puppies is sure to steal your heart.May 15, 2025, 5:12 pm

If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $650   Picnic is a 2 year old Jack Russell Terrier x Beagle mix who’s ready to open up the basket of life and choose the tastiest treat! Picnic was rescued from the shelter after being left behind at the local park and we scooped this 11 pound pint of adorableness promising nothing but love in her future! Picnic is a low rider so if you’re ready for a loyal and loving companion who keeps things cool as a cucumber, adopt her today!    Picnic is a loving and curious gal who can’t wait to explore the world outside her door! When she first arrived at her foster home she was a bit shy, but we soon saw her amazing personality blossom as she made herself comfortable. She loves keeping her humans company and is always down for a snuggle but she can also keep herself busy when she needs to. She loves snack time and is frequently found chomping down on an apple or a banana slice when her humans head to the kitchen. Picnic is a total lounger and she loves her stuffed toys which she uses as pillows when she snoozes. She is still figuring out how to “dog” but she is making great progress every day! She also loves her adventures though and is happy to trot by your side for miles at a time. Picnic would thrive in an environment where she can spend her days with her humans as she shows them love. She would be a fabulous coworker for someone who works from home or someone who can take a companion to the office with them. Picnic can’t wait to unwrap her new chapter and chow down with you!  Picnic starts her morning at 6 AM with a potty break followed by some snuggles. She goes out for her morning walk and then happily returns home for her breakfast with her humans. During the workday, she keeps her humans company from her soft dog bed, taking occasional breaks for romps in the yard or potty breaks. She rests for the remainder of the day and then has her dinner at 5 PM before her evening stroll. At 9 PM she goes out for one last potty and then she puts on her jammies and heads to bed! Picnic has lived with dogs previously and does well with calm energy. She would prefer a quieter adult only home, or a home with older kids. Picnic walks well on a leash and is completely house trained. Picnic is excited for a lifetime of adventures and snacks so come on down and meet our gal! May 2, 2025, 4:51 am

Story
WEIGHT: 13lbs Meet Cody—This little Jack-Russell-Looking guy is sweet AND zany. Cody has quite a bit of energy, even at 4 years old, and has a busy vibe that would fit well in an active household. Cody has given mixed reviews of the dogs that he has met here at the shelter, so solid canine introductions will be important. He has also exhibited some behavior that could be showing his desire to `protect` or `guard` when it comes to his people, so if he were to go to a home with children, older dog-savvy kids would be best! Otherwise, he’s a great guy and will likely end up being a velcro dog! Ready to take this handsome boy home? Cody recently spent some time in a foster home; here is what they had to say about him: `He has been doing well and seems to be very happy being at a house. He gets along with everyone and loves being held. He gets a bit anxious in crowded places and does not love being left alone. Overall, he is a very well-behaved dog and has been doing awesome!`If you’d like to meet him, feel free to call our adoptions desk or stop by during Browsing Hours: Tue-Sun 11-5.
