Story
Ernie.  Once Ernie gets to know you, he can be s weet and affectionate. He is very cautious with new people and needs slow introductions. Energy Level?  Low to Medium House trained?  Yes Describe how they are on a leash?  Ernie walks well on a leash and is non-reactive. Describe how they are with other dogs?   He generally ignores other dogs while on walks. At the shelter, he participated in playgroups and did well with other dogs. When he first arrived, he didn’t get along with the resident dog, but he’s been improving as he decompresses and relaxes. He could potentially live with other dogs with proper introductions and patience. Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they? Ignore cats we meet on walks (cats not moving); sometimes will chase a squirrel if it runs, but will continue walking easily. Commands they know?  He knows how to sit and down. What are their favorite things? Cuddles, kisses, go out for walks, and all kinds of food/treats What do they need to work on? Coping with stress - meeting new people, vet visits, visitors in the home, etc How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone? He is fine being left alone. He is calm and generally sleeps when left alone.   Where do they sleep? His bed What is their ideal home?  He would do best in a calm, patient home with people who understand his needs and are willing to give him the time and space to build trust and confidence. A quieter environment, with fewer visitors, would help him feel more secure as he continues to adjust. Once he feels safe, he’ll show what a genuinely wonderful, loyal boy he is.   The Adoption fee is $325.   For adoption consideration or to meet our dogs , please complete our online adoption application at  www.everypetsdream.org/adopt . To be considered for adoption, pls submit an application in advance. Adoption Fee: $700 Meet Sol’s Solar System: Neptune & Mars Yes, they really are out of this world. Neptune and Mars are Schnauzer Terrier mix puppies born in rescue on 10/22/25. They are currently 10 weeks old and are expected to stay under 20 lbs when fully grown. These two brothers are the last remaining planets from Sol’s Solar System litter and are ready to find their forever homes. They have been raised in a busy, loving foster environment with dogs, cats, adults, and kids, which shows in their calm confidence and gentle nature. While they absolutely have playful puppy moments, both boys lean toward being affectionate, people focused, and easy to live with. Think cuddles first, zoomies second. CompatibilityDogs: YesCats: YesKids: Yes Neptune Neptune is the soulful one. He has deep, expressive eyes and two perfectly symmetrical spots on his back that look like little wings. From the start, Neptune has been thoughtful and observant. He studies people closely, makes eye contact, and seems genuinely interested in connection. He is a calm, loving puppy who thrives on affection. Neptune enjoys playtime and has puppy spurts of energy, especially when toys come out, but he is just as happy settling in for cuddles or quietly hanging out nearby. He has a gentle confidence and a forgiving, easygoing nature that makes him a wonderful companion. Neptune is the kind of puppy who bonds deeply and makes you feel chosen. Mars Mars may be smaller in size, but his heart is huge. With his solid black face and white chin, he has a soft, sweet expression that matches his personality. He started out as the shyest of the litter, preferring to watch before joining in, but his confidence has grown beautifully. Mars is calm, affectionate, and wonderfully gentle. He loves cuddling with people and other dogs and is especially content when he feels safe and included. When he does get playful, his puppy energy comes out in short, joyful bursts of tumbling, chasing, and goofy fun. He is adaptable, kind, and quietly charming. Mars would do especially well in a home looking for a loving, steady companion with a soft temperament. What They’re Like Day to Day Both Neptune and Mars are well socialized and comfortable with everyday household life. They enjoy playtime, toys, and exploration, followed by long naps and cuddle sessions. They have medium puppy energy and are not nonstop go go go. They are affectionate without being demanding and playful without being overwhelming. They are still puppies and will need continued training and guidance, but their temperaments suggest they will grow into gentle, loyal, easygoing adult dogs. About Mom: Sol Sol is the calm center of this entire universe. She came into rescue already pregnant and handled motherhood with patience, structure, and zero drama. She is about 15 lbs, scruffy, sweet, and quietly hilarious. Sol raised six puppies confidently and lovingly, then gracefully stepped back once they were ready. Because of her, Neptune and Mars are secure, social, and thriving. Sol has already found her forever home. She was that amazing! If you’re looking for a puppy who is loving, gentle, and emotionally tuned in, with just enough puppy sparkle to keep life fun, Neptune or Mars may be the missing planet in your universe.January 21, 2026, 2:39 pm
