Story
**adoption pending** Well, look at this cute little nugget! Polar is estimated to be about 3 years old and weighs 26 pounds. Polar is very sweet, but can be a little insecure and shy when first meeting new people. Once she warms up to you, she is super connecting. Polar also comes out of her shell when you bring out toys, she becomes very open and playful. Maybe she can have a little basket of them in her new home, she especially loves tennis balls and the Kong Wubba. Polar scares easily as well, and will retreat under the table when she is feeling overwhelmed. She looks to you for guidance and enjoys checking in often. She needs an experienced adopter who has the time and patience to build trust and she needs a leader to rely on for guidance. Polar has a lot of love to give and promises to be a loyal companion. She will need a home where any children are at least 13 years old and a fenced in yard to keep her safe, we are worried she is a flight risk with her scared nature. Polar can’t wait for a family to love her and make her feel safe. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Polar would love to meet them. She has an apprehensive approach with other dogs but likes to keep to trying. She wants to engage, she is just not really sure how to just yet. Polar eventually did a playbow with one of her meets, so that was cute! If you are interested in Polar and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
Keno is a lover, pure & simple. He never met a human he didn't like and he is especially fond of children. I adopted him as a stray in 2015 and have been able to give him a good home until recently. He is not adapting well to senior living, over-reacting to nearby sounds. My husband & I fear losing our placement here and our sensitivity to his fur & dander is increasing due to our small quarters. Keno has no health issues and has always had regular veterinarian care. I have all his records

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Sophiee is such a sweet dog. She wants to be with her people 24/7 but does good in a crate if needed. She does great with my 8 month old dog along with my 11.5 yr old dog. She is non-aggressive with cats but may chase if they run. I have had a cat with her and rubbing on her with no problem. She loves kids. She likes water and to swim. We have taken her camping with us numerous times. She is reactive but non aggressive and rarely barks. She loves everyone she meets. she loves to sleep in bed right next tp you and doesn't mind. blanket to cover up with. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. April 25, 2024, 5:48 pm

Tina is super sweet but she needs to get to know you and trust you. Right now she's very shy but does warm up. Would do best in a kid free home with someone who is patient and can show her the love she deserves  ##1899237##
