****As you may have heard the VBSPCA took in 6 dogs from a hoarding situation in TN. Please keep in mind that these canines will require time and patience as they settle into their new home. Staff may require multiple visits to make sure this is a good match for you and for the rescued canine. All of the dogs transferred will be seen by vet and medical needs addressed and surgeries scheduled as needed. We have a handout that will go over common concerns with under socialized dogs from cases like this. We ask that any applicants please be prepared that dogs from hoarding cases often are very fearful, difficult to housebreak, and may take longer to acclimate into canine companion life though the reward will always outweigh any struggles! *****Feisty came to us from our friends at Bissell after having lived his life with 200 other dogs. This sweet but shy man is looking for a fresh start here at the beach! Feisty will need children 16+ as he is very scared of loud noises and fast movements. He needs a canine friend in his future home and would need to meet them prior to adoption. Due to Feisty`s fearful and shy nature he is prone to attempting to escaping so we do ask that at the time of adoption his family bring a crate to safely transport her home. Our amazing kennel team can fill you in on the up to date medical needs for Feisty. If you would like to visit or have further questions please speak with our kennel staff!

They had an wonderful human whos life was taken by a family member. We don't know what Casey and Rango experienced but we saw the heartbreak in their sad eyes. Thankfully a lovely woman who was friends with their human immediately went and picked them up. Within a few weeks they started to perk back up almost knowing they would be cared for and loved again. Rango is not bonded to Casey but they have lived together so many years, we are praying they can be adopted together. Rango has a history of seizures. The seizures are not severe or often enough to be on medication. He remains mobile, stable, and does not loose bowel movements during these episodes. We are continuing to monitor and if meds are needed , even after adoption, CCRT will get these meds started at our cost. Rango loves cuddling beside his human and napping. He is gentle and friendly and will make a great family member to almost any household

Hi, I’m Mona—and yes, I’ve been told I have a smile that could rival the famous painting. But unlike my namesake, there’s nothing mysterious about me: I’m an open book of love, loyalty, and a little bit of mischief. At just 2 years old, I’m a Jack Russell Terrier mix with a heart that beats for my people. I’m what they call a “Velcro dog”—where you go, I go. Whether it’s a walk around the block (which I love!) or just lounging nearby, I’m happiest when I’m close. I weigh in at a sturdy 34 pounds, and I’m spayed, vaccinated, and ready to find my forever home. I do best with older kids who understand that I like my space respected sometimes. Other dogs? Not really my scene—unless they’re calm, older, and don’t mind my independent streak. I’ve got a playful side too, and every now and then I’ll sneak off with one of the kids’ toys (oops!). So having some chew toys of my own is a must—I promise I’ll put them to good use. I’m currently in Charlotte, NC but don’t let distance stop you. For the right home, I can be transported—just keep in mind there may be a transport fee if volunteer transport cannot be found. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a charming grin and a heart full of devotion, I might just be your Mona. Let’s make some magic together.

Hi there, I'm Boo, a sweet and fluffy mixed breed (maybe Jack Russel Terrier and lab mix) with white fur and tan spots. I'm about 3-4 years old and weigh 55 pounds. I'm neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. I'm also house, and crate trained. I'm looking for a loving and caring family who can give me a forever home. I'm a happy boy all the time who loves to play with female dogs. I am male dog selective. I would do well with children, but I recommend older kids because of my size and energy level. I have not been cat tested but can be if you’d like. I love toys and bringing them outside in the yard to play with. I need some more training with walking on a leash because I get very excited on walks and pull a bit. If you look closely at my photos, you may notice that my front left foot is oddly bent. The vet thinks it was broken and simply healed this way. It doesn’t hurt me or slow me down when I’m having a great time playing. There really isn’t any need to do anything for it. I just wanted to let you know about it. I absolutely adore Zoomies, splashing around in my swimming pool, playing fetch, and getting belly rubs. There's nothing better than a good romp around followed by some quality couch potato time. I'm currently being fostered in Clemmons, NC, but can be transported to other states for my perfect match family.
