Monroe is young and NOT a lap dog! She will need plenty of exercise and stimulation! She's FAST, SMART, and eager to explore. And she can dig!When we carried Monroe into our vet for her intake exam, she was scooped up by a team member there and we didn't really touch her until the end of the visit. Everyone wanted to meet her and hold her and she charmed them all. And Monroe loved every minute of it.Monroe really is a sweet, petite little girl - her legs are so short but they most definitely get her where she needs to go - and quickly! She has made some friends in Panda's Place - they usually let her run circles around them and then they start to play with her.Her new friends have so much patience with her - they are trying to teach her how to play and make friends and she is such an eager learner.That's the striking thing about Monroe - she is 11-months-old and every day is a brand new adventure for her. But in a calm and curious way, not a frenzied, puppy-mode kind of way. And as much as she loves other dogs, she loves people even more.Monroe was an owner surrender to us. But this is a critical time for her - no puppy should be in the shelter, it's a world we don't want them to become familiar with.Help us keep keep Monroe's time with us short and sweet - come meet this lovely little girl and be prepared to be swept away with goodness.Interested? Hi, I’m Mona—and yes, I’ve been told I have a smile that could rival the famous painting. But unlike my namesake, there’s nothing mysterious about me: I’m an open book of love, loyalty, and a little bit of mischief. At just 2 years old, I’m a Jack Russell Terrier mix with a heart that beats for my people. I’m what they call a “Velcro dog”—where you go, I go. Whether it’s a walk around the block (which I love!) or just lounging nearby, I’m happiest when I’m close. I weigh in at a sturdy 34 pounds, and I’m spayed, vaccinated, and ready to find my forever home. I do best with older kids who understand that I like my space respected sometimes. Other dogs? Not really my scene—unless they’re calm, older, and don’t mind my independent streak. I’ve got a playful side too, and every now and then I’ll sneak off with one of the kids’ toys (oops!). So having some chew toys of my own is a must—I promise I’ll put them to good use. I’m currently in Charlotte, NC but don’t let distance stop you. For the right home, I can be transported—just keep in mind there may be a transport fee if volunteer transport cannot be found. This darling little Jack Russell boy is a young 18 month male that weighs 20 pounds and is a solid little love of a dog. His name is Puppa-Doo and he is an owner surrender that we are seeing far too many of lately. Who doesn't love a bright and happy to be alive Terrier pup that dances when you come home from a long day at the job. Puppa-Doo is great family dog just waiting to fit right in when you invite him to come home with you!!! He is housebroken and will go to door to alert you when he needs to go out. That is a huge plus in most family's check list. He loves to chase the cat for sport and fun and he will of course do a record demolition destuffing of any weak plush toy. Oh, how he loves to do that. And then to keep him responding to sounds, a squeaky toy just makes his soul delight and sore to rapid panting and smiles. He gets super excited when you play throw the squeaky toy. Puppy-Doo also will play fetch and chase if you want and that is perfect for young children who want a playful dog in their life. At the end of the day and lots playtime, he likes to give kisses and lay on your lap. . He's a door greeter-both inside the house and when a car pulls up. He adores love and attention and likes to sit and watch TV when you are there watching it with him. . And if you want a bed buddy then please let him crawl right up there next to you i He is a great protector and will alert you like a doorbell would and barks when he hears a car on the gravel driveway. All great and normal dog responsibilities that you want in your family lover and protector. And when someone shows up to visit at the house he runs circles around the outside of the house which is her own personal canine racetrack. He is active like a JRT should be. He is made that way. Crate trained and housebroken and good with other dogs and kids and adults. What more do you want in a dog and for your lifestyle. A physically fenced yard or invisible fence would be good to have for this boy. Safety for your family pet is so important.
