Story
Meet Aero!! This little guy is super fun and loving. He's a great little guy that loves attention and cuddling. He can be shy at first and then he is wide open love and fun. Aero has had quite the adventurous week. He was taken to a shelter in NC and was not a fan of being restrained by strangers for his vaccines. He did not bite anyone but he was very spicy and uncooperative. This caused him to be put on the Rescue only list. His time was up in 2 hours when we saw his post but we had no way to make the drive to get him in time. Thankfully an amazing team of volunteers were able to grab him from the shelter and fly him here, yup you read that right. Aero got his name from taking a short plan ride to us. He did excellent on his flight and arrived here without any issues. After picking him up from the airport we took a little detour to Dodge's chicken on the way home. You guessed it, his love can be bought with delicious fried chicken. He spent the rest of the evening here running around the yard playing and being a happy carefree boy. He needs a little time to adjust to new people and surroundings but he is a very sweet boy. Aero is a male, 4 year old, Jack Russell and Chi mix best guess. He weighs 9 pounds and should be full grown. He is neutered, microchipped and recently updated on his vaccines. He is also Heartworm negative. Aero is a very sweet and loving dog. He loves to be wherever you are. He also loves the outdoors. He enjoys lots of playing and running but also loves cuddle time. When he is outside, he is much more active and he is calmer inside. He really likes to be lounging wherever you are. He's a good mix of energy and relaxing. He does need proper exercise and when given that he has been well behaved. He has done well with other dogs of all sizes and loves having a playful dog of any size to run around the yard with. He can be a bit snarly at the initial meeting if the other dogs get into his face right away but after a few mins they are best friends. He just needs to see they won't hurt him. He's never met cats so we do not know how he would do. He is fostered with a child and does really well. Children in the home just need to be old enough to give him some space the first few days and not treat him like a toy. Aero has done really well with potty training. He's been great on car rides and excellent on airplane rides as well LOL. He does pretty well on a leash but does a little excited pulling here and there. He is crate trained but will bark and whine at first while he is learning your routine. He wants to be with you and can be a little vocal about it. Covering his crate with a blanket helps and once he learns the new schedule he settles down. He has not had any issues sharing food, treats or toys with people or other dogs. He can definitely be a little difficult at the vet. He gets scared when being restrained by people he does not know. He did well with being wrapped in a towel at our vet to get his last shot and his nails clipped. Otherwise he has not tried to bite or even growl at any of the people involved in his rescue. Aero really is an adorable little guy. He needs time to see you are safe and they he is your best friend. He loves getting all the pets and hanging out with you. If you are willing to give him a little time to settle in you will be getting a very fun, loving and loyal companion. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (He will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius) Please message VillageDogResource@gmail.com or message us on our Facebook Page directly with questions or to get an application.

Story
So many times, Diamond has come so close to living the dream... only to have it snatched away through no fault of her own. This affectionate, playful, 5-year-old Jack Russel mix was absolutely thriving in a home with a couple of humans... until they split up, decided a dog was inconvenient, and left her to fend for herself in the backyard. A fabulous rescue in rural VA (SWAG) took her in and we were fortunate enough to welcome her to Animal Aid shortly thereafter.Diamond came to us underweight, HW-positive, and with a painful skin condition, but, true to her name, her spirit dazzled! No matter how bad she felt, she was never anything but the PERFECT mix of kisses and playfulness! Diamond's been with us long enough that she's now healthy, spayed, and HW-free, with a shiny coat befitting of her name! Diamond was adopted to what we thought would be her forever family, but once again, Diamond's dreams were dashed. She was returned for fighting with a visiting dog in what she thought was HER home! There were tears in our eyes when she came back, but Diamond encouraged us to rub her belly and then found the nearest toy for a rousing game of tug, and man, can this little girl tug!! After everything she's been through, Diamond shines on, never losing hope, always eager to love! PLEASE - SHARE THIS POST, and help find Diamond the fabulous forever home she deserves! To 100% set her up for success, we're looking for a home with no other pets and no children under 12. Diamond is pure sweetness and light, but she's short -- so she jumps up to give kisses, and we don't want any little ones knocked over! Come get "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" stuck in your head any day between 9am and noon (including weekends & holidays), at Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA.Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.

Story
Hi there, I'm Boo, a sweet and fluffy mixed breed (maybe Jack Russel Terrier and lab mix) with white fur and tan spots. I'm about 3-4 years old and weigh 55 pounds. I'm neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. I'm also house and crate trained. I'm looking for a loving and caring family who can give me a forever home. I'm a happy boy all the time who loves to play with other dogs. I would do well with children, but I recommend older kids because of my size and energy level. I have not been cat tested but can be if you’d like. I need some more training with walking on a leash because I get very excited on walks and pull a bit. I have a special need that you should know about. I have a badly healed left front broken leg. It doesn't bother me much and I can run and walk just fine. The vet says that as long as I'm not holding my leg up like I'm in pain, it's ok. But if it becomes painful, I might need to have my leg amputated. That's something you should consider before adopting me because it might lead to additional costs. I'm currently being fostered in Clemmons, NC, but can be transported to other states for my perfect match family. If you think you could be the one for me, please complete an application to let my rescue know you're interested in Boo. I can't wait to meet you and start our new journey together!

Story
PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - LUCY BREED - Jack Russell Terrier/Shepherd Mix SIZE - About 20 pounds AGE - born May 2024 GENDER - Female MEDICAL CONCERNS - None known BEHAVIOR CONCERNS - None known SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS -Lucy is a precious little puppy who appears to be a perfect match of something Jack Russell-ly and Shepherd-ish! She is one of a pair who came to us from an out of state shelter to escape euthanasia and we are delighted to be able to serve both Lucy and her litter mate. These happy pups want to be nowhere except in your arms and are gentle, playful souls. What a wonderful addition either would be to a home bringing so much love and laughter! We believe the pups were born around the first of May and they are now fully vetted (spayed/neutered, microchipped and vaccinated). The pups are ready to find their forever families! Both are in good health and are likely to be 20-30 pounds when fully grown. We are seeking a home with an active adopter who has the ability to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time with their new puppy. A home without larger pets and with a fenced, secure yard allows for safe exercise and potty time. They may not be well suited to small children or very small dogs who could be upset by puppy enthusiasm, but will fit nicely into many other homes. Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Petinquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and your family to meet the precious pup at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting it and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner. More information on our website at www.carerva.com.

Story
This precious little brindle girl is considered to be a Jack Russell dachshund mix girl and is always going to be what you call a lowrider dog in her life. She is looking for a home that is active and can take her fun puppy antics all in stride. She is a climber very similar to a little monkey and she loves to explore the great outdoors with her nose. She only moves slow when she's about ready to collapse and take a nap. She snuggles. She gets along with other dogs including a huge 100 lb Golden Retriever. She is a happy girl and did not like her photo session. It made her shy and not looking as confident as she truly is in real life. She is currently 9 lb at 12 weeks of age. We think that she was born somewhere around the middle of June. She will be perfect for a home that has a fenced-in backyard as she is not a fan of the leash yet and does need the ability to be able to run to her heart's desire. She will perhaps learn leash training easier in a harness. She is ready for adoption now and if you are ready for the excitement and activity of your life then sign up by writing to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. We anticipate her final adult weight to be in the 20 lb range PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.October 6, 2024, 8:52 pm
