How this pet arrived: Kelso was brought in by a community member on February 18, 2023. Why this pet is the one for you:This is Kelso! What kind of dog is Kelso, you ask? Kelso is a purebred good boy! Kelso is a joy to be around and loves having a good time. His favorite activity is romping around with a plush toy and maybe even tearing it apart. He can really get into play time and would do well with an active household where he has plenty of things to work out his body and mind. Because of his energetic antics, he may do best with older, sturdier children. Once he gets his energy out, Kelso is a cuddler who loves hanging out with his favorite people. Kelso enjoys hanging out with other social dogs and going on walks together, sniffing along the way. He did come in with a leg injury that has since healed in its own special way. It doesn't slow him down in the slightest, but our vet team is ready to answer any questions that his adopters may have! Kelso is such a good pup that just needs someone as exited about him as he is about them. Come meet this pup and fall in love!Kelso has been chosen as a Volunteer Pick! Story
Hi, I'm Freddie. I'm a handsome and regal looking 3 yr. old, 73 lb. black lab mix. I'm playful, friendly and affectionate. In spite of all my great qualities, I spent over a year in a shelter before SPOT rescued me (Black dogs and large breeds frequently get unfairly passed over by adopters for some reason) I love toys of all kinds and enjoy chasing a ball. I still haven't quite mastered that part about bringing it back! I get along great with other dogs and people. Unfortunately, cats, not so much. Since coming to SPOT, I have worked with a trainer to develop my leash manners and to follow basic commands. I would like to learn even more, if my new family will work with me. (Just to make sure I get off on the right track, SPOT will provide refresher sessions with my Trainer. I recently had some surgery to fix my leg and it's all better, but I have to stick to moderate activity for a while longer while I finish healing. I love my daily brisk walks and romps in the backyard. Since I am a big strong dog, you should probably have experience with bigger dogs. Freddie is a dog who, more than anything deserves a second chance! He will reward that lucky family who adopts him with a lifetime of love and loyalty. Could you be that family? If you think you might, please fill out an application so we can arrange for you to meet Freddie. Freddie's Adoption fee is $300 and includes spay, microchip and current vaccinations. To fill out an adoption application, visit https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SSP-A-823 To follow Freddie on his journey to a loving family on SPOT's Facebook page, visit https://facebook.com/spotsavespets/ and on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/spotsavespets/

How this pet arrived: Nico was brought in by his previous owner on January 20, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you: Meet Nico! Nico is a gentle soul who may be a bit shy around new people. He's not accustomed to bustling crowds, so he'll thrive best in a calm and peaceful environment, making a small household the perfect fit for him to flourish! Having lived with many dogs before, Nico feels most at ease in the company of his furry friends. Their presence helps him feel secure and gives him the confidence to explore his new surroundings. If you have other canine companions at home, Nico will likely find comfort and companionship in their company. While we feel that Nico will adjust over time, he may not be the best match for a home with young children. He needs a family who can give him the time and space he needs to adjust and feel comfortable. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this sweet and sensitive soul, Nico is ready to become the new member of your family! Come in and learn more today!  Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 53.8 Age: 1yrs 9mths 1wks

CALL FOR DETAILSSachi is available for adoption in a foster home. If you're interested in adopting her, please call us at 619-299-7012.How this pet arrived: Sachi was brought in by her previous owner on January 13, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Say hello to this beauty! Meet Sachi! This girl will put a smile on your face each and every day! Sachi came to us in need of help. Our devoted medical team repaired her sore joint/hip and addressed some other medical issues. She has healed and is now ready to go to a somewhat quiet home where she can take it easy and enjoy life. She is likely to never have full function of the limb which may cause her to walk with a hint of a limp, but that won't stop her from living her best life. Her current foster mom says she is doing well and is a sweet girl who sleeps in bed with them and moves their shoes around!! She might prefer being the only dog so she does not have to share. She has earned it. Are you ready to make this girl's dreams come true? Bring a leash and collar when you come to adopt Sachi! Story
This is Bolt! He's nearly 3 years old from our best guess and is around 95lbs. I've had this handsome pirate since December and adopted him from Hope Ranch in Temecula. I am trying to get him rehomed with them too but I figured I could cast out as wide a net as possible. He's very sweet, very mellow, and quiet but is also very curious and playful. He loves to hang out and cuddle but is also always up for an adventure so long as the sun is still out. I am putting him up for adoption because his behavior is unpredictable with smaller dogs which has caused friction in the retirement community I live in with my mom. I do not want to give him up to a shelter so I am hoping to rehome him before the end of the month. He's great with other medium-large sized dogs and is good with older children but is a little afraid of smaller children. He has a fairly high prey drive so he would not be compatible in homes with cats or other small animals.

Story
Brooklyn was rescued from a shelter in San Bernardino.  Brooklyn (Brookie) is approximately 9 years old and weighs about 35 lbs.  Brookie is a semi feral dog.  we believe her breed is a Labrador/Dachschund Mix.  We have had her a while and never posted her because she is amazing with other dogs and she is who we use to temp test dogs and we have just let her be.   We have worked with her off and on but just recently we started working with her more because we have had the time to focus on her and she is making great progress.  We can pet her and leash her.  She is doing great on the leash.  Brooklyn will jump up on the couch and she will relax and we can pet her.   She takes treats from our hand and follows us around.   She will jump up on the back of our legs for attention.  She wants the attention and love so bad but doesn’t know how to receive it.  She jumps up on the bed and she will nudge my hand and roll over for me to pet her belly.  We are looking for an adopter for her that will take the time to work with her.  Brooklyn is a very special girl to us. She would do best in a home with at least one other dog and a yard.   Her best furfriend is Molly who is also available for adoption.  Brooklyn is ready to make some family very happy. She is available for adoption now so if you would like to be making memories with Brookie, complete an application: http://petstablished.com/adoption_form/4362/generic ##142127##

Story
This is a courtesy listing, not a SPOT Rescue dog. For more information regarding Eloise, contact email or phone number below.. We are looking for a new home for our beloved Eloise, a seven (7) year old pure bred, beautiful German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP). Eloise is a top-notch snuggle buddy and adventure companion. She loves to run on the beach and on trails, play "hide the treat" games, and spend time relaxing right next to us wherever we are in the house. She is spayed and in good health with no major history of illness or physical complications, and is up to date on all vaccinations. Eloise has been through obedience training as a puppy and has recently been working on additional commands and tricks - she is very smart and enjoys the mental challenge of learning new things. While Eloise has been a member of our family since she was a puppy, unfortunately, Eloise does not get along well with young children. We have reached the point with an active toddler and upcoming cross-country move that we can no longer provide her the best doggy life she deserves. She will thrive in a new family without children or small dogs to live a happy GSP life. This is a hard decision for us and we want to find someone who will be blessed by Eloise's happy and warm presence and energy in their home. If you are interested, we would love to talk with you. Eloise is currently with us in North County San Diego (Cardiff), and we can travel with her to the right new home. Give us a call at 608-692-3660 or send us an email at djknudsen@gmail.com for more information about Eloise, including breeding and vet records..
