He is incredibly friendly and absolutely loves people. He loves to show his big heart as well as his big personality.  Ace loves to run, stretch his legs, and especially enjoys a good game of fetch. He likes to have a few good sets of zoomies throughout the day, but with that being said he’s not “go-go-go” all the time. After he gets his playtime in, he’s perfectly content to relax and chill for most of the day. He has a wonderful balance of playful energy and laid-back downtime - perfect for busy owners looking for a low maintenance dog. He has a big, expressive personality and isn’t shy about showing it. He’ll make you laugh, keep you entertained, and most of all, make you feel loved. He is selective about other dogs and would do best as the only dog in the home. In a dog-free home, he truly shines. Hi there! I'm Dakota, a sweet 70 lb lab mix around 8 years young, and I'm on the lookout for my forever home! I'm a calm and cozy pup who loves lounging nearby while you work or relax. Wherever you are, that’s where I want to be too. I get along great with kids, other dogs, and new people. I live with a five-year-old now and we get along great! Having a dog sibling would be really fun, but I’d also be okay solo as long as I have a lot of time with my humans. I go crazy every time I see a cat, so no cats for me. I have good leash manners and like to go on walks with my foster mom. I may be a bit older, but I’ll walk with you as long as you want! Going up the stairs and getting in/out of the car…not a problem! I do pretty well on car rides and getting baths. I’m usually calm in most situations. My foster parents leave me home alone uncrated and they always return to the house in perfect condition. I’m not here to cause any trouble! A fenced-in backyard would be nice, but not required. I absolutely adore my humans and I thrive on companionship. They have a few squeaky toys that I like to play with too! I am heartworm negative, neutered, and up to date on all my vaccinations. I may be an older pup, but I have so much love to give! My gentle demeanor combined with my playful spirit makes me the perfect addition to any family. If you're looking for a loyal companion-let's meet! I can't wait to find my forever home where I can thrive and share all my cuddles. Could that be with you?

Hello! I landed in the shelter with my 11 siblings and was scooped up right away by Peak Lab Rescue! I went to a foster home where I have been since February 27. I live in a home with adult dogs and children. I sleep in my crate overnight with mostly no accidents. In the daytime I go to my crate for naps and although I protest at first, my foster mom says it is for my safety since I like to get into trouble if I am roaming free! I am cute as can be with very thick, plush fur! I have a little bit of white on my tail and on my feet, which makes me just the cutest! I am working on learning to go potty outside, but I have not caught on quite yet. My foster mom is building me a nice foundation so that it will start to click for me soon. My personality is quite calm and I like to explore a lot! I enjoy playing with the adult dog in the house and have good social skills. However, I do like to use my mouth on all things so will need a savvy owner that will continue to teach me manners and train me to be a good family member! Do you like to be active and explore the world? Me too! Are you ready for a puppy in your life? If so, I hope I am your girl! If you will zoom in on my pictures you will see I even have a little birthmark on my tummy in the shape of a perfect heart.
