Welcome Apollo, who comes to us from the Rowan County Animal Shelter as a stray. He is a 1–2-year-old, 63lb., heartworm negative, neutered, Labradoodle. He is so very sweet and pays attention to everything around him and is so very eager to learn and to see what is happening. He is excellent with all sized dogs and cats. He needs just a little work on his commands and is a bit shy but will make an excellent companion. He was extremely matted when we got him and was treated for a skin infection. He also has some scabbing from where his mattes were so tight. Apollo is currently living in boarding and is also in need of a foster. If you would like to meet this oh so sweet gentle boy, please send us your email address to obtain an Adoption Application.

Story
My parents have to move. They will not be able to bring Frida with them as they are downsizing and will no longer have a yard to accommodate a dog her size. She is 4yrs old and a loving part of our family. She is an only dog, but very much enjoys the company of other dogs as she frequents doggie daycare and is naturally a social butterfly. Willing to please and ready to play, she will be a great addition to your family!!

Story
Almost a year ago we adopted a labradoodle from my husband’s sister as she was going to take him to a shelter because her mental health was impacting her ability to care for him. We gave her a third of what she paid to save him from going there. Fast forward to now, we just don’t have as much time to commit to him as we thought. We have a young child and busy work schedules. We are moving soon and need to find him a good home. He’s great with kids. His sister did have a cat. Never had an accident in the house. Will sleep in a crate at night. He has a lot of energy and is social (typical labradoodle) and needs someone who has space for him to play and be goofy. Someone who can help him be a little more trained when it comes to listening and walking on a leash. We are trying to train our actual human child right now and just need to have him someone who has the time. He’s 1.5 years old. Approx 75 lbs. Fixed. Up to date on shots. On flea, tick, and heartworm meds. He’s very sweet.

Story
Introducing Goose, the epitome of canine charm and affection. This delightful pup stole our hearts when we adopted him at seven months old, but unfortunately, we're facing the heart-wrenching reality of having to find him a new home. From day one, Goose has been a cuddly, curious soul who effortlessly charms everyone he meets, whether they have two legs or four. His easygoing nature extends to his interactions with other pets and children, making him a beloved member of any household. Despite our best efforts, we're unable to continue providing Goose with the care and attention he deserves. As we prepare to welcome our first child into the world, juggling the needs of two dogs has become more than we can handle. Goose, with his ever-growing need for training and guidance, deserves someone who can offer him the time and resources to thrive. While we've successfully crate trained him, Goose still struggles with potty training, which has become increasingly challenging for us to manage.

Story
Meet Moose, a two year old labradoodle who came to us through no fault of his own. His family got him as an emotional support dog for one of the children, that child eventually moved out, and Moose has a ton of energy and the family did not have the ability to give him the outlets he needed. He is a wonderful, handsome boy who needs room to run, someone to play, hike, run, go on adventures with. If you think you might be that person, please continue to read and fill out our on line app RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home.
