Say hello to Ginger. She is a sweet lab mix who is bonded with her sister Pepper. We want to find them both a new forever home. She loves to play with Pepper all day, and is relatively quiet. Ginger is the more cuddly of the pair, but both love a good head scratch.

Story
Meet Willow 🖤 — Your New Favorite Snuggle Buddy If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion who just wants to love and be loved, Willow may be your perfect match. This two-year-old black Lab mix has the sweetest soul and is happiest when she’s close to her people. Her favorite thing in the world? Being with her family. Willow absolutely lights up when everyone gathers on the couch, and she believes snuggles are a full-time job. She is incredibly affectionate, devoted, and makes sure to check on everyone in the house — she simply wants to be part of the family. Willow would likely thrive in a home where someone is around often, as she truly loves being close to her people and feels happiest when she’s included in everyday life. Willow is spayed, heartworm negative, and settling beautifully into indoor life after likely spending much of her past outdoors. She’s learning house manners and making great progress with house training, especially because she responds so well to praise, encouragement, and affection. She’s also food-motivated (so you might need to guard your morning bagel 😉), which makes training both fun and rewarding. The world is still a little new to Willow, and walks can feel overwhelming right now — she often prefers the comfort of home where she feels safe. With patience and love, her confidence continues to grow. A friendly, confident dog in the home could be a wonderful role model to help her learn how to “dog” and explore at her own pace. She’s great with kids and would thrive in a loving home where she can feel secure, included, and cherished. In return, she’ll give you endless loyalty, soft snuggles, and the kind of unconditional love only a rescue dog can offer.

Story
Kiwi loves adventure but is always down for a good snuggle. Approx. 50lbs worth of cuddles and 4yrs of experience! Kiwi is a sweet and super smart girl of average energy. A loyal girl who can’t wait to be someone’s sidekick. She is happy to go out running or hiking, but also enjoys being a total couch potato. She loves treats, tug-of-war, and belly rubs. Her favorite outings are ones where she gets to swim. Although any chance to ride in the car is a win! She is crate-trained and house-trained. Kiwi would do best in a home of her own, without dogs, cats, or young children. If you have any questions or would like to go ahead and meet the cutie, let us know! We're sad to see her go but excited for her furever family! Want to see her in action? https://youtube.com/shorts/ZAF6AvtLss8 Spayed, microchipped, up to date on core vaccinations! Her adoption fee is $275. New Moon Animal Refuge offers a 40% discount on training for all of our adopted pets. Training is provided by: Puptential - Positive Training & Care. Send any questions to newmoonrefuge@gmail.com. Or, submit an application via the link below if you're interested in meeting and possibly adopting! Story
Parker Lancaster and his 4 littermates got to become Peaks just ahead of the winter weather last week. They were vetted and microchipped and went to foster homes just in time to enjoy the snowy days in a warm home instead of a cold shelter. We're so thankful we were able to make that possible for them. Parker is a sweet, approximately 9 week old puppy. He has been in a home with dogs, ranging in age from 14.5 to 1 year old, and a cat. He has taken his cues from the older pups that don't match his puppy energy and enjoyed the one year old who does share his joy of play time. He enjoys exploring the backyard, even with the snow on the ground. He enjoys wrestling with his brothers. He enjoys a good chew session (good quality, age-appropriate toys a MUST) and then a good nap session, either snuggled up with his brothers or in your lap. Parker is learning his house training skills. He is dependent upon us to get him outside. He has a good foundation for you to continue with. We have enjoyed having Parker in our home. He has been a pleasure and has been a lot of fun. He made the snowy days enjoyable. He is now looking for his family. When he finds them, he and they will be so lucky to have met.

Story
Easton and his 4 siblings came just in the nick of time ahead of our recent very cold weather. Lucky for them! They became Peaks! Easton is a sweet 9 week old puppy. He has been in a household with 4 resident pups, a visiting grandpup and a cat. The dogs range in age from 14.5 years to one 1 year. Easton has gotten along well with them all. He has taken his cues from the older ones who do not share his joy of play time. He has enjoyed our one year old, with supervision because she is still a puppy herself and does enjoy play time, sometimes, too exuberantly. Thus, the supervision. He has not had a chance to be around children yet, but he is a young puppy. They love everybody. As with any child/puppy interaction, good supervision is important to make sure everybody stays happy. Easton is learning house training skills. He is dependent upon us to provide the outside opportunities. He has a good foundation for you to continue with. Easton enjoys a good play time with his littermates, a good exploration of the back yard, and a good chew session with good quality age appropriate chew toys. Then, he enjoys crashing for a good nap, snuggled in with his littermates OR better, in your lap. Easton has been a pleasure to have in our home. We enjoyed him and his brothers in the snow! They made the snow days a lot of fun. He is now looking for his family and will make a wonderful addition when he finds them.

***COURTESY POST - This dog is with her current owner - not a PLR foster*** ______________________________________________________ Meet Karen, a sweet and smart 5-year-old black Lab mix looking for her forever home! We’ve had her since she was a tiny 3-month-old pup, and she has grown into such a wonderful companion. Karen is full of love and energy—she adores playing fetch, going for walks, and joining you on hikes. She’s excellent with children and is both loyal and affectionate. Karen would thrive best as the only dog in the home, where she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves. She has a sensitive tummy (no table scraps for her!), but she does great on regular dog food and doesn’t need a special diet. With three little ones at home (2 year old and one month twins), we can’t give her the time and exercise she truly needs. Karen deserves a family who can keep up with her playful spirit and give her plenty of companionship. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal, and obedient dog who will be your best friend, Karen is the one! ❤️
