Story
Meet Moose, a two year old labradoodle who came to us through no fault of his own. His family got him as an emotional support dog for one of the children, that child eventually moved out, and Moose has a ton of energy and the family did not have the ability to give him the outlets he needed. He is a wonderful, handsome boy who needs room to run, someone to play, hike, run, go on adventures with. If you think you might be that person, please continue to read and fill out our on line app RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home. Story
I got Lily as a puppy from a church friend. I did not realize she was such an energetic breed. I am 76 and my husband has MS and is wheelchair bound. Lily needs a fun active family to live with. She loves the water and playing tug of war. Lily is a pick-pocket and loves to get what you leave laying around so she needs help with this. I do love her, but just not able to keep up with her.

Story
Apollo is a very sweet dog in need of a lot of love and attention. He is one year old and loves long walks and lots of playtime. He struggles with some behavior issues that require an experienced trainer to help with. Due to medical issues, we don’t have the funds to afford a trainer for him. Behavior issues include demand barking when he wants attention, restlessness, biting when bored (not aggressive biting- he wants to play), separation anxiety, and occasional counter surfing. He’s very smart and food driven but needs more attention than we can give him. He’s lived with us since he was 8 weeks old and is used to a home with 2 people - one retired that stays home during the day and one that works during the day. He’d be a great fit for someone who has another dog, and energy to play with him and take him on walks. He does well with kids, and does well with other dogs, aside from a little nipping when he gets over excited. Overall, he’s a wonderful dog and deserves a lot of love!
